I'm an angler and fossil hunter, and I'm here to share my nature adventures in the Topsail Island, NC area. I'm a trained nurse, but I have been out of work for two years due to a rare chronic illness of the nervous system called Complex Regional Pain Syndrome. It has affected my life in every way, but I'm thankful that it took me to Topsail. I've been obsessed with sharks since forever, and Topsail has great fossil hunting. My boyfriend introduced me to fishing in the area a year ago, and I was quickly hooked. These two hobbies have helped me focus on the nature and beauty around me, instead of the never ending storm that's going in my body. I hope that you enjoy my videos. I'll try to be myself and show you how thrilling landing an over slot red drum is, and the magic you feel when youre the first human to hold a fossil that's at least 5 million years old. I caught my BIGGEST Sheepshead on Surf City Pier!
Hey y'all, this one is short and sweet! The Sheepshead have been nibbling away on the pilings at Surf City Pier recently. Depending on the conditions, some days you can see scores of them from the deck. On this day, the water was a bit murky, and I wasn't able to sight fish for them. However, dirtier water can work to your advantage with Sheepshead, as they have good eyesight, and can spook easily with crystal clear water. I was able to trick this old and wise fish into eating my bait this day, and I was thrilled by this catch. I can't wait to get back out on the pier to look for more soon!
