- Hey y'all! I tried out a new spot on a falling tide, and hooked up to another big red drum! 5 total for the day, and a bonus eel! Kind of reminds me of the game, Big Buck Hunter hahaha! I hope you enjoy!

Hello just wanted to say hello, I'm new to your channel and enjoy watching and learning about fishing on the coastal waters of the East coast. I too suffer from crps and a TBI after getting struck in the side of the head by a sledge hammer. I've been in southern Maryland for 3 years now and just started getting more involved with fishing out here. Awesome fishing! Love your videos! My wife and i went to South topsail for our honeymoon in June, we loved it so much we are going back in September! The fishing was amazing on the inlet off our dock. We hooked some real decent drum off a mud minnow on a popping cork. Loads of black sea bass, puffers, pin fish, grunts, and flounder too. Oh and way too many lizardfish

I was planning on spending more time learning the spec, red and flounder fishing this year but I only get about 10m to the gallon when I'm hauling my boat, the gas prices are way too high and I'm about 60miles from the coast.

Lol You're too funny. I didn't know if the fish was going to end up in the boat or you were going in the water. Beautiful fish. I take home keepers too. Fish is very expensive.
Haha I’ve only fallen out in the shallows so far, which is scary enough with the sinking mud, oyster shells, stingrays, etc. That trout was gut hooked anyway and wouldn’t have made it. I’ll release any big girls that are hooked in the lip.

I love Topsail Island and used to stay there 4 times a year when I traveled for work back in the early 1990s. I'm learning about using my Wilderness Kayak these days in the NC mountain lakes and looking forward to your review of how your kayak is set up. I have yet to fish saltwater with a kayak, but really enjoyed fishing from a canoe for redfish and trout around Jacksonville Fla when demand for blackened redfish about wiped them out. If I had a day of only catching sailcats and jacks it was all good. I appreciate your no BS attitude about fishing and enjoy watching you landing the big'uns. Maybe a catch and cook is in the works?

Hey Clinton! I’m sorry to hear about your dialysis. I worked as an RN for 7 years before I had my health problems, so I know how much ESRD can impact your life. It all depends on water temperature, hurricanes etc. but usually, yes!

What's the best tide to fish? Any tide you can get, of course. More great content, and some really nice fish. I remember when catching any drum in the ICW was a relative rarity.
Hey! I used to pick my fishing time based on the tide, but now I just go out early am, and fish according to what the tide will be. It's more about learning where the reds will be at any given tide. If you can catch them in the shallows on a rising/high tide in the morning, that's usually my favorite. The incoming water will flush crabs and shrimp out, and the reds will feed on them. I like to aim for structure, like grasslines and oyster beds, as that's where bait will seek refuge. If im fishing on a falling tide, I'll try to find a spot where the reds will be waiting for bait to flush out into deeper waters as the creeks/flats drain, like the mouth of a creek or bay that feeds into a larger waterway. The don't like hot water, so you could be in a nicely flooded flat at 3pm and not see anything. The mud in the flat cooked in the sun earlier during low tide, and now the flat is a hot tub. So best advice is to fish early, and think like the fish. Also, bait is easier to catch on a lower tide, so I don't like going out right at high tide

I use a Carolina rig, the weight depends on the current. I like Owner mutu light circle hooks, the 3/O is probably my go to. I should do a video on that!
