    I live in central NC. We woke up to 2 inches of snow. Then I watched you catch that big fish. Thank you. I needed that this morning. Please keep your videos coming. People like me will watch this again and again. Your my hero.

    I think I just found my favourite channel for kayak fishing really loving your videos because you don’t hide a thing with editing other than a squinty face and I like that even bad weather your out there and videoing it all 😁👍

    • @finsandfossils
      @finsandfossils  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah that squinty face was bad lol. I have back up glasses now. Just got a second go pro, so I’m hoping to bring double to footage this season! I can’t stand wearing a head or chest mount, but I found a flag pole for the back that I can mount one on, hopefully it’ll bring a cool perspective! Can’t be a fair weather angler around here, always some chance of storms in the summer. I’d rarely go if I waited for the perfect day! Thanks for the feedback 🤙🏼

    Another great video and your excitement for catching these drum is contagious. Can't wait to get back on them myself. You made the comment that was your first drum not anchored. If I may suggest, start working grass lines and oyster rocks with a topwater bait while you are scouting around (obviously on days with less wind than this). An upper or over slot drum on topwater while not anchored is my absolute favorite! Good stuff, keep them coming.

    • @finsandfossils
      @finsandfossils  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I’ve done that, unfortunately I have a problem with my nervous system that causes me a lot of problems with my arms. The repeated casting and reeling with lures is extremely taxing for me. I’ll work on it some more this spring, I just have to kind of adapt 🤷‍♀️

    • @theramrod
      @theramrod 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@finsandfossils Understood. I get it in my elbow after a bit of working the topwater with no bites it hurts and then I just want to throw out a bait and wait. It's all about just getting on the water and soaking in the moments.

    Since you fish a lot of shallow water have you ever used a black jig head with live mullet hook it up through the lips or just top lip. Use quarter ounce three eights if water runs hard. Good luck love seeing you catch reds my favorite fish to catch an eat.

    It was a bit sketchy in that wind .... reminds me of a day when I was watching two kayakers go out in winds .... they paddled for one hour and never went 400 feet .... and if they stopped paddling they went zoom in the other direction 1/2 mile in 5 minutes ....

    • @finsandfossils

      OMG I see that happen here a lot, It's hard enough with a pedal drive. I see them getting their kayaks out at the launch, and I know winds are about to pick up in an hour, and that slack tide will be moving at a clip when they're trying to get back. It makes me nervous to watch!!
