    Hi Erin, thanks for the great video about your rig. You were smart to invest in a high quality boat and put it like you want it. I watched your video with Eric and it reminded me what an old fishing buddy told me when I was just 21, you can't worry and fish at the same time. That time belongs to you alone. I'm 75 now at that served me well for a lifetime. I wish you good fishing and don't forget the bear spray and a gun when out there alone. I hope you find that 10 lb trout some day.

    Two questions for you, Erin! I fish the area around Sunset Beach, and in NC, I believe that putting an electric motor of any type on a boat you have to register it and display numbers on the hull. I didn’t see any registration on your kayak! Second, is the 6’ stakeout pole enough length or is the 7’8” better? I have the same kayak as yours, but mine is paddle only. BTW, I love your channel and videos!

    • @finsandfossils

      @@finsandfossils Thank you for your reply and suggestion. I live in MN and I like the close to the water feel of a canoe, but I also think I’d like the pedal drive. • @finsandfossils
      @finsandfossils  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It does sometimes get tangled in weeds. I can feel it when it happens, I just pull up the pedal drive and pull it out. Only takes a second. I know the hobie's have a different style of pedal drive, that may lessen the chance of that, but I'm not sure it has the reverse feature.

      Because when I steer the rudder, the motor turns too. If you have the motor mounted separately, I think you’d have to steer both the rudder and motor simultaneously. I usually use it as pedal assist, not just using motor, so that made the most sense to me.
