The Way We Farm
United States
เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 15 ธ.ค. 2019
The Sumbitch tractor show was started in 2018 to raise funds for the fight against Alzheimer's disease. There is an estimated 5.8 million people living with Alzheimer's, and my Father-in-law was one. I'm just a guy from rural western New York, hoping to raise awareness for Alzheimer's and make people laugh in the process. New Videos every Sunday at 9am.

Top 10 Things We Did on the Farm This Year
Great machine
@@HermitagePrepper Thank you!
My father originally bought a 6030 back in the mid 70’s. We sowed around 2600 acres of wheat each year. We also grew around 100 acres of tomatoes. My father fabricated linkage to do the row cropping. He bought a 7520 in the late 70’s. As you know they have the same engine. I couldn’t believe how much more pulling capacity the 7520 had. I’ve enjoyed watching your videos this morning from here in Australia.
@@waterloocreek5659 Great history there! Yes the 7520 puts it to the ground but the 6030 shifts better. 2,600 acres is a lot of wheat! 100 acres of tomatoes is a large amount too. Glad you enjoyed watching, we are cold and snowy here today, spring is coming eventually, enjoy summer!
Hey, I like your tractors. We ran a 7520, 6030 and a 2150 Oliver powered by two stroke Nissan diesel. We also ran a White, can’t think of the model just now but it was a similar size to the 2150. The white was a beautiful tractor to drive, so long in the engine and so smooth to drive. I spent many hours in it when I first left school, discing stubble after harvest here in Australia
@@waterloocreek5659 I plan on speaking at the national Oliver meeting in Ohio in March. Currently I don’t have an Oliver tractor but always on the lookout. Many of our friends have Whites, real good tractors!
I enjoyed your video on the 7520, they are such a unique piece of history. We farmed with both a 6030 and 7520 in the 70’s through to the 90’s. We still have the 7520 put away in the shed here in Australia. Lots of memories with both tractors, so many 18 hour days in the 7520. My son put a video up on his channel Huon Productions. The cab is off at the moment but one day I’ll get it back on. Thanks again👍.
@@waterloocreek5659 7520 tractors are such unique tractors. You must have been the coolest farmers with a 6030 and a 7520! I will check out his channel tonight! Thanks for watching and the comments, very interesting to have viewers in Australia.
porqué mienten, ese tractor es de la linea o serie 20.
Why a new holland head?
@@GMT400Chevy it’s actually a Clarke head with case Ih row units, it was very cheap. This winter we bought a nice 612 John Deere for next harvest.

@@OldIronFarmToys-eg8tz Thank you! Happy New Year!
what a Mud Auction
I can remember back when I was a kid, my late dad hired Jim Daniels from Warsaw NY to do all our combining. I can remember Jim having the older John Deere Combines and he would always upgrade. It was nice seeing the changes over those years of me growing up. Back then, my dad planted corn with a Ford 309 2 row planter. We did about 60 acres as cash crops. Great video Tom
@@timwilcoxsr2712 Great history Tim. Thanks
My only surviving toy is that combine. Mine is a 2wd.
@@Ron-rs2zl Glad you still have it. Wonder how many of them they produced?
Very neat old combines. I've got a sales brochure on the NH "Corn Combines" that's still in great condition. What engines were used in them?
@@steveogden1829 That’s great! My friend Jason says he has one for me, I love old sales literature. They had Ford industrial gas engines.
There's still a couple TR combines working in our area. Definitely good machines.
@@ronzimmerman8968 I always thought the TR combines did a great job. Never had the opportunity to run one.
My Grandfather had the same 4 row combine with a ford gas motor ,100 gal gas tank on it , they wore it right out …… remember it going to the scrap yard 😢
@@barry2062 This one has the Ford gas motor. Sorry his is gone.
Do you still have this tractor? Havnt seen it on the channel in a while
@@PapawsDadillacOEMplus Yes we still have it. We sold the 8 row Kinze and 15’ Great Plains drill we pulled with it. We bought a 20’ Gen Till that I hope we can pull with the 6030.
@Thewaywefarm the 4650s are just tanks. Look forward to the next video with it.
Great Video! Thanks for sharing your background with all of us. Love the toys in the toy shed...everything looks good! Is there any way NH would've had a reverser option back then? Prob a dumb question, but that pedal resembles a reverser pedal if there was such a thing back then.
@@EDBZ28 Thanks Ed. It has a hydraulic lock for the head latch, that might be what it is, I have to look closer.
Great video Tom. That was cool to see Oliver in there too.
Thanks Mike, I love them all!
Awesome comparison between the combines. I love the 20, 30 and 40 series deere tractors
Thank you Jason

trucks on auction should go to the salvage yard lol.
How are you supposed to buy anything when they talk like that?
@@P4hko If you go to enough auctions you understand it pretty well. Or you can watch and bid online. I’ve bought a lot of equipment from out of state online.
good video. What a great auction Tom
@@EDBZ28 Thanks Ed. It was such nice equipment I had to video it!
Great WNY farm. Thank you for covering the sale.
@@bigtractorpower Glad to be friends with those guys and glad they had a great sale.
What is that steel plate on the front of the JD 8450? Did you buy anything? Nice looking gear.
The 8450 was the farms corn planting tractor. The platform is a rock pan to set rocks on as they find them planting. WNY is very rocky. The farm has a rock picker that runs ahead of the planter but some stones may be missed so the odd few are hand collected on the pan.
@@coenbroosh Big tractor was correct, we have a rock rack on our 400 Steiger. Unfortunately we didn’t buy anything however many of our friends did. Thanks for watching
That's the way it should be easy to fix
Wow! How freaking cool is that! That old thing was moving right along in a pretty nice stand of wheat. The old pitman just a'hammering away. That is so cool! I was just watching a video of Case AF11. My how things have changed. I hope somehow, somewhere, people will always keep some of that old machinery running and bring it out for people to see.

I've got a 1974 7520 that's been in our family since brand new. Just put eight new tires on it 23.1x30s Firestone radials. Great tin no rust. Occasionally I put it on a harrow just to get some use out of it.
What is your production cost per acre? greetings.
It depends, they require many more spray passes for weeds and fungicides. Also we pay different rent prices for different farms. Usually black beans are profitable
@@Thewaywefarm But an average cost per acre, how much does it cost to produce beans until harvest? greetings.
One question: is the plant tall relative to the ground? Are the pods separated from the ground? Here in Mexico they are at ground level and you cannot harvest them with a common header, as you do. greetings.
@@miguelvalenzuelaherrera3457 Most of the time they stand up high enough to cut well. If they fall over we cut them one way going into them. Thanks for the questions.
