What you forgot to mention is that the auto term is also built the eu reg specific and the Chinese ones aren’t, and I’d rather have something built to a specific standard. Very happy with my Autoterm 4D heater 👍🏻
Autoterm are a Russian copy of German machines who then switched production out of Russia when they invaded Ukraine as sanctions where applied. No idea which test house conducted the certification process, hope its one we have all heard of. On the web site it states ISO 9001 which is documentation standard for a quality system and ISO14001 which is an environmental impact system; I guess as its an automotive product it should probably have an e-mark.
Honestly I didn’t know what to expect going into it. I’ve never been hands on with anything other than a CDH. But immediately putting the parts next to each other I was blown away! 🤯 I think tbh I’d only ever go Autoterm again if / when we do another camper!
That was my concern when the chap installed it. However due to the down turn after the silencer with the 45 degree out it doesn’t seem to be an issue. We’ve got alarms for everything in the van and nothing goes off!
So the way I would look at it from my experience so far is.. buy a Chinese diesel heater if you are happy that you’re going to have to tinker with it sometimes. Buy an AutoTerm if you want to fit and forget!

That’s actually a very good point I forgot to put in! We are very happy with our 4D!

I’ve had an autoterm in the vw for 6 years and just bought another for the new build, they are awesome.

@ yes definitely. They run so quiet don’t they. And the one on my vw has never let me down
So that was the other thing! The fuel pump you can’t hear AT ALL and the exhaust noise I’d say is half of what our old one was!
Great heaters!
Couldn’t agree more!
The old saying is true, you get what you pay for.
Cheers, Poth.
Couldn’t agree more mate!!!
I’m just about to fit one to my crafter, the exhaust and the air intake look very close together? Surly it will suck up some fumes?

@@Jess_and_Alex_Adventure good to know, thanks 👍
Just started fitting mine yesterday. Decided not to skimp by buying Chinese and not having peace of mind.
