Your reflection on balance between consumption and creativity was helpful. It’s something I’ve been working on lately too. And I’m also trying not to forget the things that I enjoy and to care for my mental well-being in times of anxiety knowing these little habits ca help us show up better in when stressors do come along.

Your scones (I pronounce it the same way as you and I’m from UK) looked delicious! I am shocked how long and dragged out the foster care system is with you; the children deserve some permanancy in their lives. Is that timeframe normal in Canada? I am a UK foster carer and things move quicker here; our system is no longer fit for purpose though so I’m not saying things are in any way better here.😕 I love your video’s thank you.😊

Some of those books were beautiful! I liked the picture of the young girl in the stairwell. I'm not sure if I was seeing it right, but it looked like she was reading with cleaning things between her feel. So many beautiful things!

I usually leave 0 tabs open lol I can't stand open tabs. I only look at one at a time maybe two and close everything when I get off my device. My husband however probably keeps 50 tabs open minimum.

I use International Pen Friends. I have just started so I haven't received any letters yet, but I have sent out some postcards. I'm excited to see where this journey takes me!!!

The Edith Warten books are hard to find. Journalers love them!! I've never seen one at a thrift store and probably would have bought that one❤

Do you use a gluten free conversion chart? I used to use the one I have all the time when I was making more GF stuff. (Of course, it's for making regular recipes GF.)

Agatha Raisin stays pretty unlikeable. I enjoy listening to the audio books. I think they are a fun thing to listen to when I’m doing chores around the house. I’ve found that the newer libraries in my area have less books. The one down the street from me will be updated in the next couple of years and everyone in the community is begging them to keep their big collection even if it’s old.

I was not expecting to see a covered wagon 😳 I always love the look of the antique typewriters, but I never want to shell out the money for one. That does seem ridiculous that 5-6 years later they're finally talking long-term care. Maybe short-term is in hopes that things change (for the better), but kids need more stability than that. Praying for you all!

I currently have 53 tabs open. You are not alone in the open tabs department! I love looking through antique malls but rarely buy something. To me, they are museums where you can touch the items!

Fall is so pretty in Canada! Our middle TN weather goes from summer to winter. The leaves mostly go from green to dead and gone. If you blink, you miss the pretty colors.

I have mild gallbladder issues. It comes with headaches and nausea and soreness in my neck and shoulder. I figured it out by watching Dr. Berg on TH-cam. With diet and supplements it's fine. I'm not saying that this is your issue, but I thought I would mention it just in case.

My reading journal is very plain and straight forward. I don't make it pretty. I just record title, author, star rating, when I finished it, and a smallish review.

Monthly Homeschooling updates sound awesome 👍 For myself, I tend to do a every seventh week check in with where we are at (talk to the kids), reflection time for me, and maybe I will make a little video for memory sake. We are on week six so next week is our reflection & break week. I try to do six weeks on and one week off. It doesn't always work out but it's the goal ❤🎉👍

Were you at the Nancy Guthrie workshop? A bunch of ladies from my church went and said it was so good.

I've always thought I was an extrovert until I realized that too much "peopling" makes me anxious. I really enjoy deeper conversations, so if there are events with lots of shallow conversation that doesn't allow for deeper connection, I'm exhausted before I arrive. In some ways, time is a currency, and I have a budget I have to manage. So I weigh the cost of each "yes" and if I have nothing left for my family, I've overspent my time. Sometimes, I feel selfish for saying no, and quite honestly, appear selfish in some circles, but if I over stretch my time currency, it never goes well in my heart or soul. I've learned that my "yes" is so much more powerful if I'm also honest about my "no". I'm still working on it, and I definitely have to ask Grady if he thinks it should be a "yes" expenditure. I think the biggest help for me is to block out "nothing" times so I free that time up for rest, family, games, etc. Then Grady or others can use up that time for other uses. If I don't have those blocks in my calendar...I get overwhelmed and stressed out. I can say "yes" if I have a block on the calendar.
