10 LOST Rides of Disneyland REVEALED
Step into Disneyland’s past to uncover the magic and nostalgia of its lost attractions. These forgotten experiences helped shape Disneyland into the beloved park we know today.
Uncover classics like Mine Train Through Nature’s Wonderland, where guests explored the colourful Rainbow Caverns. The Skyway and Jolly Trolley, offered unique ways to view the park. Mike Fink Keelboats and Big Thunder Ranch added to the western experience, while Country Bear Jamboree delighted guests with its singing bears.
Look back at the Motor Boat Cruise, which gave families a relaxing journey along Disneyland’s waterways, and the evolution of Tarzan’s Treehouse, originally home to the Swiss Family Robinson. Then explore Splash Mountain, with its thrilling plunge, and its transformation into Tiana’s Bayou Adventure.

Six Flags Mexico is one park I have never been to. I hope to get there one day and would love to do a video.
14 years later the Trains looked Dated Get used to this the trains are good for 100 years
Definitely due an update!
😪😪😪
Sad times 😔
0:20 Splash Mountain may be gone but it will never be “forgotten”
I agree! One of my favourite ever Disneyland attractions!
Will you do a Part 2 to this?
I am already planning it!
No People Mover? That’s a lost attraction that many people miss which made Tomorrowland look more alive.
I agree, it’s very much missed! Tomorrowland has so many lost rides, it needs its own video!
The People Mover is 2 lost rides in 1. Not only is the People Mover gone but Rocket Rods is gone too.
@@warfjm I remember the People Mover having a small TRON section in the superspeed tunnel. That was like a short attraction within an attraction.
Justice for the Shockwave
👍🏻
Kings Island deserves an absolute monster that has 0 family inclinations whatsoever and 0 Bollinger and Mallard influences whatsoever that breaks records and boundaries and sets the park up for getting back to its roots.
I am a B&M fan, but there are so many innovations out there at the moment. Hopefully after their family coaster they will add a true thrill one!
There were so many fun rides at KD,yet imo if you were able to get to Williamsburg Bush Gardens had two great rides. The Big Bad Wolf and the Lochness Monster. Loved flying through the makeshift village of The Big Bad Wolf.
Oh yes, I love Busch Gardens Williamsburg. That would also be a really fun video to research and make.
Diamond Falls, remembering standing on the bridge getting splashed as the boats shot down the drop. Then you had the older smaller Log Ride, or White Water Canyon...awesome rides during those summer trips to KD
Thanks for sharing your memories!
Thanks for doing this video! This is great! Although the original Bear-y Tales is lost. Many of its original animatronics, sets, and props are in our pool of collection by us and two others
Thank you so much! You don’t know how much a comment like this means to me coming from you! I bet that is a great collection to see. A true piece of theme park history!
Knotts is not maintained well.
Believe me, I’ve been to much worse!
as a kid I was so scared of the Demon Drop, mainly because of the name lol. Disaster Transport was my favorite coaster when I was young (tied with the Iron Dragon). I completely forgot about Space Spiral. And I will always miss Wicked Twister and waiting in the line near the lake. Thank you for driving me down memory lane :)
Thank you for watching! I’m so glad I could unlock some memories for you. If you liked Disaster Transport check out my latest video.
I've been on all ten. 👍if you have too!
And we have a full house! Well done to you!
Miss the Haunted Shack 😊
Such a classic, not many like that around any more.
supposedly the original psyclone cart is in the apocalypse wastelands...i seen it there when i went on it.. the og boat z force was scary..i cried at 8 years old.
What a great fact. I will definitely have to look out for it next time I am there!
I had my first kiss on Kingdom of the Dinosaurs. Met a girl from another school on a field trip. The ride operator had to stop the ride to split us apart... Good times! Katie from Upland, if you're out there, I hope you're doing well! XD
What a fantastic story! Imagine if she is out there reading this!
My dad called this coaster the brown streak 😂 this coaster was awesome tho. What a shame
Brown streak is what you sometimes get in your underpants on Steel Vengeance!
haha good one 😂
If u went to knotts you HAVE to ride the log ride it’s a must :)
Unless it’s closed like on my last visit! 😭😭😭
@ 😭😭 Goof luck 😭😭
The soapbox racers and sky jump are the two I miss the most. I can't prove it, but I sincerely believe it inspired, or at the very least influenced the Cars ride at California Adventure... I never got to ride Corkscrew, but I may have to make the trip and I hated Boomerang, however if I go to Indonesia I will have to seek it out and ride it once again, just so I can say I rode it in two different countries.
I think Knott’s has always been a major influence for Disneyland and vice versa. No idea aver goes away in this industry! I always want to do a trip and ride my childhood coasters all over the world!
I miss Log Jammer and Collossus.
You and a lot of people! Thanks for watching!
What about the shock wave ... stand up coaster
I can’t always cover everything… but never rule out a follow up video!
Shockwave was SO beloved when it opened; it's no surprise what it did for attendance. Sarajevo had been a disappointment and this was a breath of fresh air. Psyclone was also amazing in it's first year - a perfect woodie along the lines of GhostRider. It's so sad what happened to it shortly thereafter.
Thanks so much for commenting. I love your mini reviews and extra information!
As much as I love and miss the old Knott's, I sure don't miss Windjammer, Windseeker or Perilous Plunge! They certainly could use a little help in selection of the rides they purchase - even today.
The certainly have had some strange choices over the years! Possibly driven by the small plot!
Being a young adult working overnight in 2010 time originally from Missouri. I can't believe I rode some many of these and it's crazy so many are gone.
Thanks for watching. It’s crazy to see how many rides have disappeared.
I still beat myself up for not riding the Motorcycles. At that time I was really fascinated with the Corkscrew (because going upside down was a novel thing). Soap Box Racers kinda made up for it (it consistently raced). I also regretted missing a ride on Perilous Plunge as well.
I totally get where you are coming from. I always try to ride any unique or unusual rides, but sometimes you have to make hard decisions. I would have probably chosen the Corkscrew if I think back to my younger mindset!
Kingdom of the dinosaurs was the scariest ride I had EVER BEEN ON When I was a kid I hated that ride
If I do a more in depth history it might become a horror movie!
I've never been to cider point but allot of these seam so fun tho 😂
Cider Point... now that's a park I could get on board with! 😂
When was explosive is aloues
Thank you for watching!
you scared me with Gemini on the thumbnail😭🙏
Don't worry... it's Mean Streak!
@@CoasterConnections oop- sorry😅
Except for Windseeker, I have been on all those rides. Noticed there was a lot more landscaping back then instead of the concrete jungle we get now.
Almost a full house, well done! I noticed that too, area's like The Boardwalk would benefit from some more greenery and landscaping.
I do miss Log Jammer. The last time I was at Magic Mountain was in 2019, so decided to take a photo of the former ride entrance while I was there. I also rode Green Lantern: First Flight a few times during it's short run at the park. I cannot find myself to ever fully hate that ride because it gave me the closest to a ride malfunction that had ever gotten at Magic Mountain (so far). It was on my second time riding it and the pod my sister and I were in had over-rotated when we got back into the station, causing my sister and I to face the floor and the 2 riders behind us to face the ceiling. Two of the riders in the pod in front of us were laughing but I honestly didn't care because I was enjoying it. Maintenance was called out to fix the problem and everything was just fine soon after. Probably the only thing I was embarrassed about on that ride was using a step stool to climb into the pods. I'm at around 5'8" but climbing up into a roller coaster pod that was around 4 feet off the ground was a challenge for almost everyone who rode it.
Thank you so much for sharing this. I love hearing about people's stories from the parks history!
I remember going to Knotts Berry Farm as a young kid back in the 90s and riding some of these rides (Wacky Soap Box Racers, Timberline Twister, and Parachute Drop to name a few). I even rode Timberline Twister with both my grandma (mom's side) and younger sister and all 3 of us sat in the same row. Later on in 2005, I would get to ride Boomerang, Perilous Plunge, and the currently SBNO MonteZooma: The Forbidden Fortress (MonteZooma's Revenge when I rode it and I hope they are able to get it up and running again soon 🤞🏻🤞🏻).
You have managed to ride a lot of the history of Knott's! It sounds like you have ridden most of the attractions in the video!
@ just about. Hopefully some day I will make it out to Silverwood to ride Corkscrew.
Top Thrill Dragster used a hydraulic launch. Top Thrill 2 uses LSMs.
I absolutely know this, it was a mistake that made it into the final video. Unfortunately you cant edit a TH-cam upload once it is out there, but I did add an addendum to the description.
Who remembers when top thrill had actual drag wheels and a wing on the back haha and dragster noises
🙋♂️🙋♂️🙋♂️
Man this brings back so many memories
Thank you! Thats the idea, I love seeing how a park has evolved!
Twister is at cedar points sister park dorney park it’s called possessed
Possessed was originally at Geauga Lake. True to its name it must be cursed as it's closed every time I have visited!
@@CoasterConnections yes now that I thought about it possessed didn’t have both sides twisting only one side. But every time I been to dorney it’s been open I’m only a hr away. Great ride
More luck than me then!
crazy barrels, circus wheel, z force, enterprise, subway, sarajevo bobsleds, monorail, yosemite sam sierra falls, and swiss twist are all gone.
What a great list, and also good ideas for a follow up video!
This was such a bizarre ride, not particularly thrilling, and did not fit in at Cedar Point But for some reason I and many others loved it I don’t know why
It certainly was unique. And you are right I have had some many comments from people who loved it, both on this video and the Cedar Point Lost rides video.
Loved the Canadian Monster. Water chute think the last in the country.Loved the Whip my Mum used to take my Brother and I on the ride mid 60's.Rode the Turtle Chase many a time. Happy Days.
I bet you had such a good time at the park. I love all the old footage from the 1960's.
Does anyone remember the club house next to timberline twister? It had a bunch of different rooms and then later got turned into bath rooms. It feels like just a figment of my imagination now. I can’t find any pictures on it. I loved it when I was a kid. It was my first form of disappointment when it closed lol.
One for me to do a bit of research on I think... what an excuse for a trip to Knott's!
@@CoasterConnections I think it was called peanuts play house. I think there was a bridge that was on top and ran across to another building, and it also ran across to the top of the waterfall. And then I think there was a bridge that ran from the water falls to the balloon ride. But I could be wrong it’s all a little fuzzy.
freefall was terrible and it hurt like a MF when the ride stopped
I can see why it closed. Probably not the safest ride!
Nice work. Avalanche Run ever opened with inline seating cars though. Capacity was one of Cedar Points primary concerns back then and ordered the ride with the 5 row 2x2 cars. On a completely unrelated note: I dreamt that Cedar Point had ProSlide design a HydroMagnetic water coaster with Avalanche Run's layout. Complete with the conveyer lift hill and three slightly uphill LIM launch sections in place of the brake runs.
Thanks for watching and your kind words. It’s difficult to piece together some of the history so appreciate the extra into. Great dream… The layout would probably make a better water slide than it did coaster!
The ride actually opened with the 10 passenger sleds. As CP often did/does, they asked for extra capacity over the original model. Supposedly there was a delay in the opening due to the wrong sleds being shipped. However, the ride was always designed for, and operated with the 10 passenger sleds.
Thanks for sharing this info! 👍🏻
Nice 👍 I learned a lot appreciate more in Knotts 😊
Thank you so much!
During my first vist to Cedar Point as a kid in 99, i really enjoyed Disaster Transport! I lived in Ohio at that time, but did have a few visits to DisneyWorld under my belt. I could tell the theming wasn't nearly as good, but the thrill was there, and the A/C felt great! When they tore it down, I was a little sad, but the thrill of bigger and better coasters superceded my nostalgia, and still does to this day
That’s a great mindset to have. I also get sad when an old favourite is closed, but excited to see what the future brings!
@@CoasterConnections 👌
It was like taking a step into disney or a step into another work/park. I really enjoyed feeling like I left into another world. The indoor aspect was really cool
You can certainly tell that it was heavily influenced by some of the Disney rides.
