do you make the rear hangers ?
Thank you for doing this. So hard to find this information online. Almost 80 lb weight savings including the spare.
Happy to help. The weight difference must be noticeable (never got them mounted-regret) plus I love the look of Alcoas
By looking at your yellow metals i can tell that oil was not changed regularly so you have seeze ring in addition this motors use oil to adjust valves
can you use these leaf packs with stock hangars and shackles?
Yes, no problem, but you'll just miss out on the ride quality improvement that Hammer Hangers bring
Will a 2006 Tundra Acces cab bed fit a 2002 Acces cab?
I believe that it will, but AC to AC only
Can you post manufactury whole bed liner take out no any video on you tube thx
I will try to remember to make an entire removal video soon, need to refresh and clean up my Tacoma frame soon
i thought so too. but it was obvious at first sight that they have a weak tread depth. I measured them over the entire surface and the maximum I measured was 9.23 mm. as much as I was looking forward, I was disappointed and surprised compared to my BFKO2s, which after 15,000 km have 9 mm current
mm is different than 32s. 9.23 mm is nearly 12/32" of an inch
so now you must have misled me. I thought that the data is in mm. so it's about 10mm yes.
What was the depth of the tread when they were new
13/32 per Toyo
seriously? I don't understand how it is possible that my new ones are 9mm from the factory
@stevom190 You might be measuring depth on shoulder, check the center. I explain in this video

Out of pure curiosity, how many miles are on that 2UZ
259,000 and I believe it is rare for the piston/rings to be hurt at those miles.
@archivegarage7638 I would think so aswell if it had oil changes done on time I would be surprised to see piston ring failure at that mileage, I just bought my 2003 tundra with a trd supercharger on with 127k miles and I'm a little nervous on how the 2UZ will hold up at higher mileage with boost I've got a Japanese produced engine in it though from before the Alabama plant opened and supposedly those rods handle boost a little better
Not that bad really. Thought there was gonna be more to it.
Got'em
All your Archive Garage Stuff is on my 2002 Tundra... Thanks SO MUCH... I now drive a MUCH more capable truck that I have an unending confidence in whil'st operating it off or on road, pulling a load or empty... Again, thank you so much!!!
Hello, I’m interested in picking up a set of the MD leaf springs. I’m honestly trying to keep the truck as stock looking as possible, I have it setting level right now with the front end bilsteins I put in. Will these drastically lifer the rear end?
Please check our site archivegarage.com for details. We may need to update the link in description
That’s about what my stock 2019 Tacoma Goodyear wranglers tires are at and I only have 33k miles mostly surface.
30,000 Mile review and measurements up here th-cam.com/video/pekxodmxrY4/w-d-xo.html
Which one should I get if I have 700 pounds on tongue and squat ?
A trailer with 700lb tongue weight will likely be around 1,000 lbs added to rear axle weight/leaf springs, as the hitch ball is about 4' behind rear axle centerline, it's an overhung load. Weight is transferred off front axle to rear axle. My recommendation would be HDs, but even MDs will be significantly better than stock springs. Check fitment notes on our site listing for approx lift height
Thank you for making this video, this is the information I have been trying to find
No problem!
Thanks! Great series!
No problem!
What is the point of the u bolt flip kit
You get a better performing Archive Garage bumpstop and ground clearance under axle for offroad, and better appearance as well, that stock clam shell hanging under axle is unsightly
hoping to get this kit soon!!!
What kind of grease do you use
I would love a set got just was retired out of the Airforce went through welding school now my putting a flatbed on the Tacoma to make it a welding rig! Do you guys offer military?
Yes
UPDATED view of Archive Shackleton springs here th-cam.com/video/5JVOnhtsBK4/w-d-xo.htmlsi=G2YLlQpSHBOQ45nj
what setup do you have in the front to level the suspension out?
Premium front setup would be Fox/King/ADS 2.5" extended Coilovers with a mid-travel Upper Control Arm. There are more affordable choices that offer lift, I don't recommend 5100s at all.
what do you have in the front suspension to level the truck out?
Would durobumps work with any of the options?
No, and their rear ones snap off, you don't want them. Get our Option 3
archive only
I would love to see a video about your SUA setup you sell for the 3rd gen Tacoma.
You left out the hardest part! Getting the center pin to fall into the axle perch! That needs to be explained / taught. It's a nightmare for most!!!
It's very simple, don't try to install a lift spring on 1 side, while the other side still has the stock flat spring locked down. Notice in the video we don't have a stock spring on the other side. Just make sure to follow how we have the axle pinion supported by 3 jackstands so it won't roll down and fall.
Watching this after did it with 2 tiny jack stands and a floor jack.. after dropping the driveshaft had to pull out the factory bottle jack and many pry bars later we are together. 10/10 follow this method😂.
Will the shock relocation cause axel wrap and wheel hop?
No, it doesn't cause axle wrap. In fact, the truck never experienced ANY, I took this Tundra to Silver Lake Sand Dunes in Michigan and driving through hot sand with mud tires tested that for sure. The rear suspension worked so good, I didn't think about it all day there, later I realized it just worked.
Would be helpful if you mentioned what grease to use.
The best grease to use is the grease supplied by Energy Suspension or Prothane. I believe it is called Formula 5 grease. I feel Marine grease is the next best because of anti-corrosion properties, or I have used Super Lube white grease and it's pretty good.
I'm looking at an AAL for a little support and lift. I enjoyed the video especially the comment about the factory neg. arch. I was wondering if it was intentional or just wear. Thank you
Having flat leaves was Toyota's design for the 6 lug version. Toyota built the 5 Lug and 6 lug version which added compromises to the design
I need a set of 4 of those for a F-350 but I can’t find any
I've found them on F B market in $100-$300 range for a set
Dodgebuyok😅😅😅😅😅😅
That’s not how you measure the lift because the tire size will be a variable in your method. Whereas when you measure from the wheel hub to the edge of the fender you’re going to get the true lift height regardless of tire size.
Think about it a little more
Great video. Gave me the EXACT info I've been looking for. Plus the hands on explanation.
Just last week I went from mid-duty Dakar leafs to Deaver stage 2 with the AG hammer hangers, shackles, and crossbar. HUGE improvement. The improvement in ride stability is very noticeable. Excellent workmanship, very functional product 🤘🏻
How’s the ride compared to factory. Also how much does it raise the bed again, compared to factory. Your right about the add a leaf. They don’t work. I have one. Now I have the Sumo springs. They work but I think I’m better off buying new springs altogether. Just being honest. The man made logical sense to do it right the first time. I’m not paid btw. I’m looking into these. 😊
The ride is very good. We have estimated lift on our site listings depending on how much load you have. Sumo Springs can support weight, but also sharply limit your suspension travel
Heck of a detailed video man. Thanks
Those springs are pricey
You can spend 1/3 or 2/3 on bandaid options, and still short yourself on performance.
Worth every penny they ride nice, I’ve tried doing add a leafs before and they don’t work well, medium duty’s ride great on my access cab with a camper shell and drawer system in the rear.
Soker down with transmission oil turnes it to mud 3weeks 👍
Can I tighten the front bolt of the leaf pack before putting weight on the truck? I just mine installed and my buddy tightened the front one before putting weight on the truck, he did waited to tighten the rear.
Yeah, that's ok with poly bushings only (not ok with bonded rubber bushings)
Great detailed explanation!
Thank you ✌️
Any plans for a cyber Monday deal?
I love mine on my Tundra. I bought the whole rear suspension pkg and dammit I cannot find the right words for how much I love the way it handles, flexes, and it can haul LOTS of fat girls in the truck bed now... probably a dozen that would have been called freight train in high school and now would absolutely have a field-dressed weight over 200lbs without any dinner and without ANY problemo...
Your link in the description to a specific page on your website does not work.
Thanks, I will fix that right now
I have these P-metric Toyo - open country at3. It’s for my 2015 lifted Scion xB with 225/70/16. Had them for almost 2 years and they are damn awesome all terrain tires. I never took to go light dirt off-road but I would love to. But the handling, the grip, the traction especially on rain is outstanding. I would definitely get another set of these nice time, when they almost get warned out. But a bit more beefier, meaning wider of 235.
No offense, but isn't the point to show how a bed with shock relocation is removed? You know, the four bolts that are new to the bed sitch? So I'll ask it, do you need to take the load off before you remove the shock bolts? Anything special we have to do with the shocks?
You've misunderstood the point of the video from 6 years ago, which was to show how to remove the bed from any 2005-2023 Tacoma, regardless of whether it has our shock relocation or not. Do you have our relocation? Then remove the 4 extra bolts through the bed, and lift the bed straight up. I recommend draping a moving blanket down the back of the cab prior to lifting the bed. Does that help?
would those leaf spring make the tundra rear sit higher
Yes, they are lift springs, and lift height depends on how much you load them. We give estimates of lift vs weight on our specific leaf spring descriptions
