How I Made my Dream Game Fun Again!
My actual plans for this video were to add tons of new content and mechanics but turns out I have to get rid of some major problems first in order to keep the project nice and tidy and to make the overall user experience more exciting!

In this video I made a game about a submarine. It didn't go quite well... If you want to play this game, link is below but please read: After uploading the game I realized that the pick-ups didn’t spawn anymore and the enemies were even more buggy than expected. This ruins the entire game; it’s not worth playing it atm. I might fix these bugs someday but rn I’m too busy working on other project...

Very great
Looks cool so far! I would consider making enemies and the player move a bit faster. As for the reloading, it might be better that it uses the ammo automatically when pressing a reload button. However, it makes appear timing wheel appear, in which you have to hit the reload button at the right timing. If you get it right, your reload is shortened
you should add wepon raritys give them colour

Maybe randomize the colors of the enemies' outfits. I think then they will be more interesting to look at and they will pop out more when they are in a group. Just a suggestion, keep up the good work!

I have few suggestions (of course most of these can't be implemented instantly!): 1. A armor system (also include armor durability!): Realistic: A realistic armor system also requires an proper ammo system with diffrent types of ammo such as HE, AP, HP, I, etc. A realistic system is where the penentration is based on the bullets penentration factor and the armor's resistance. if the penentration surpasses the armor then you do damage based on this formula: armor resistance - bullet penentration / (armor thickness - bullet thickness). if the value is negative then the bullet will be absorbed. For deflections and richotets if the bullet manages to penetrate but the (armor thickness - bullet thickness) is a negative value then you can make the bullet richotet. Percentage based: Percentage based is where a bullet has a armor penentration percentage and the armor also has a resistance percentage. when the bullet hits you use this formula: armor resistance - bullet penentration. then pick a random number from 0-100, if the number is above the final value then do damage if else the armor absorbs the bullet. 2. Armors and weapons 3. Quest system 4. Loot system 5. a map and open world phenomenon 5. more enemies 6. frendlies 7. factions and relations 8. bountys 9. Ai strory telling that determines events

The idea of Your game looks very fun and promising! I've watched a couple of Your videos before and it's great to see You improve Your game 😄 There's a lot of features You could add to make it even better like for example enemies could target also the RV and It could get damaged + with this mechanic would be nice to add things to protect Your RV like barricades that You buy from the trader. Just saying a couple of ideas. Good job and keep it up!

didnt have a lot of time to work on the game recently so the video is about 1 month late :c anyway heres a cookie as apology 🍪 :D
you can turn the reload more real, add bulletboxes and the possibility to reload the clips with then, and in the gun you simple swap bettween the clips (revolvers and shotguns could reload direct with the bullets), its a system i never saw in a game just in res evil outbreak
im planning on adding different more realistic reloading mechanics for the different gun types soon :D
I like the reloading, but as a TRUE BLOODED AMERICAN, to make it more "realistic" you can have it be a tube fed gun like a lever action, or a pump action gun, or even some semi-automatic guns, and instead of a magazine, it could be an ammo box. Idk how this would work with a regular automatic gun, and you don't even have to do anything like this cause it is YOUR game after all, but just an idea :)
And it'd also make sense for a revolver, didn't see the part where you added more guns. It might also make sense for wwi/ii era rifles, as they (sometimes) didn't have magazines and were hand/clip fed. Maybe that'd be another cool mechanic: if you have a clip, you can reload a rifle instantly/quicker, and same with speedloaders and revolvers.
this is defo a great idea and ill keep it in mind for the future. i agree the reloading is very monotone rn and shooting will play a big role in the game so multiple reloading mechanics would add a lot to the game
Please add Nerf guns. Then, I'll consider.

The game looks great! Do you have any plans to have the zombies and the bandits fight one another? It could give the player a break if they're struggling to defeat a bandit!

Nice! Looking good so far. Feedback: It would make sense to have the zombies attack the bandits as well. That would not only be logical but would allow for tactics like luring zombie hordes into attacking bandits for more fun and depths.
I'll keep this one in mind it could do for some great moments and will make the world feel more alive lol

Bro i know you worked hard on that reload but it's very bad idea. You're going to stop the fun (action) every few seconds for long reloading time with huge window that's obstructing player view. You also don't stop time what would be a solution but would make it even more boring. You unnecessarily overcomplicated simple mechanic which on it own can kill fun in your game.
Think if and why you actually need reloading. In your way player will always die because of the need of reloading or being out of ammunition, what will be annoying, especially because there are no meele weapons. Games are supposed to be fun, not annoying.

What advice would you give to people who want to start making games? I’m eager to begin, but I often find my ideas are too ambitious.
it took me a while to figure that out and even now i frequently make mistakes lol. if u want to start make sure to make multiple smaller projects first to get a basic understanding of how everything works. also dont overscope with ur ideas and if u are working on a game and suddenly get ideas for another game that would be "more fun to play and to develop" just write these ideas down, forget about them and keep working on ur current project. i have been in a bad loop where i kept starting new projects again again but never got anything done. also make sure to let others play ur games even if the game is not finished to get as much feedback as possible and most importantly have fun :D

oh yea thats a good idea! do u mean smoothly flipping around? i had this feature in older projects here and there and really liked it so why not :D

ooh ok i get what u mean. this could really look better than what we currently have but this also means id have to draw walk animations for all these rotations so it could take a while. project zomboid uses 3d models and simply rotates them afaik so its a bit easier for them lol

yeah thats true. the movement is different now but i think this will make much more movement options and tactics possible in the future. i agree the game looks a bit worse now but i want to make a basic prototype first and we can always make it look better in the future :)
Nice work! Isometric will be somewhat harder, especially the layering bit as you encountered, look at projects like 'Lumbermill'! Also I did notice in the Shoot(); function, you just spawn the bullet, I assume the bullet itself has a script with 'update' in it? It is more efficient to add the bullet to a List<bulletScript>, then iterate through the list. For example, this way, if you need to find a bullet, you don't need to do Find.GameObjectWithTag. Also using the same iteration you could do box/circle/ellipse /linear function (linear for skew walls with the isometric system, you know (y==x*0.5&&x>5)) collision detection. If you implement collision yourself, it might save some overhead (collision checks with Physics2D and Tags). (Unless Unity's collision has 0-impact in the profiler).
