I spoke to a Rhodes scholar over 20 years ago. He was biology teacher at a mid-west college. He was a really nice man and he explained to me about Rhodes scholarships. He said, he used it because he wanted to get a PhD and become a college teacher and Oxford university allowed him to do that. He said in his year group of the 32 granted that year 17 of them used it to get into Harvard law school. He wasn’t fond of lawyers but just said that he was happy and pleased he able to accomplish his goals of getting a PhD and he seemed happy and content with his life. He didn’t say much more than that. Just a really nice man that took the time to talk to me. I really changed my outlook on life. What really is happiness.
