The struts have the bearing and mount as one piece?

Only problem i had was timing chain guide broke. But that can partially be on me cause it was about 130k on dash and never checked them. All the other issues have been shop induced problems

Now I have a 2012 f 150 I love it I and I think it's better than my old 2003

I had a 5.4 engine and then the the head gasket was shot on it and it cost me 2503 place. So I don't think there are best engines

I am having loping idle/surging idle. I replaced idle air valve, cleaned throttle body, cleaned and checked egr, Checked for vacuum leaks. ABS is bad and am going to be replacing that next week, could that be the issue? Or any other ideas?

Bullitt wheels are available on standard gts as well

I've got a 2001 E250 van with 300k on it. It suddenly got to where you have to keep your foot on the throttle to warm it up and even then it lopes like it's got a huge cam. It smells like it's running super rich and has alot of condensation from the exhaust. It's not sweet so I know it's not a head gasket. This van travels nation wide daily. But it idles rough and has the loping issue with hard to keep running while cold. Any ideas on what could be going on? It shows no codes.

interesting. most tutorials people center the steering wheel and have to lock it somehow and align the tires accordingly. you doing the opposite. for home mechanics your way of aligning is much easier

i have a panel with a 240 amp double pole 30amps can i replace this with a two single 30 amp breakers

My 2008 f150 has a 3v 5.4 that has 228,000 Miles on it and it has never given a problem one.. good and bad in all of them I guess

Quick question. I have a 2001 cobra. Two or three days ago I learned about this and I pulled up on the clutch and I heard a pop, so thats normal, I also realized on a test drive that the clutch had more bite to it, it felt better. My question is, would readjusting the clutch via this method again within a few days span damage the gear or any other piece? I’m curious about it and figured it wouldn’t hurt to ask, thank you!

I just bought a super clean 2003 Expedition Eddie Bauer for $2800. It has the 5.4 with 212k miles. There are misfire codes on #6 and #8 but it starts easy and has no ticks,knocks or leaks. I'm going to be replacing all the coils and plugs with Motorcraft parts and think that should do. I just scrapped an 03 Toyota Sequoia that had severe frame rot but still ran like brand new. I hope I'm not disappointed. It's encouraging to me seeing numbers of guys reporting 300- 400k miles on the 5.4 2v.

I have 0.07 and sometimes the battery is 12.2 v, i suspect central locking issue...

For the majority of my 75 years i've been setting my vice grips "to snap on gripping barely" - then us the lever to "snap off" and tighten the knob a little bit. The resultant snap on gives the perfect fi meaning that there is absolutely no need to use other tools light allen keys, other wrenches, screwdrivers etc to do this simple job because finger tight is all you need.

Had a 5.4 in a 05 f150. It turned 35" MT's on concrete with stock ratio gears. Plenty of power imo.

My daily is a 02 5.4 f250 super duty all original engine and transmission just did a fuel pump finally at 330,000 miles also did a alternator few months ago doesnt leak any oil but burns alittle lol hellava truck 1 owner as well

You should have ran non ethanol through at least 2 tanks to assure the purity of the non ethanol gas.

It was just a few engineering flaws, and so long as you took care of the engine, did regular maintenance, you were okay. The only actual issue is the 5.4 3v. Now if you maintained it, you were good for the most part, the issue is, buying a used one today, you can't be certain the last guy did regular oil changes. I've all three version, plus the 4.6 and the 5.0, and I can't complain.

Knock on wood. I haven't had these problems with my MACh 1 except with the radio.

I have the 12 I can do 4 tires no problem I aired up 8 flat four wheeler tires today still had battery left. It’s perfect for keeping in your car without taking up lots of space.

I have a 2003 fx4 5.4 and it’s got 230,000 miles…still tougher than a 2 dollar steak! Wouldn’t trade it for anything!💪🏻👊🏻

03 FX4 here, 5.4 just hit 250K never had a plug issue. I am on my third plastic intake! Been a great truck, plan to drive it another 22 years!

There are apparently 2 different oil cooler configurations with the 5.4 for the Super duty trucks. Can you change one out for the other? I am talking about the 2 valve option.

or just grab a bag and unscrew it over the filter, that works great too!

I realize this is an old post, but I have a quick question. When you centered the axle with the lower control arms where the original upper control arms installed? Or were they removed and new adjustable arms added after the bump stop axel alignment? Thanks

Ah so you want me to add two tools for the one but that's why I always carry a right and left handed screw driver I'm no dummy.

I have coolant leakage coming from somewhere on my 2002 5.4l F150

Got my 2000 4.6 3 years ago with 230k miles for $400. All it needed was a transmission, so I had one put in out of a junkyard expedition and other then changing the radiator, hoses and thermostat and a couple other things, thing starts up every time. I mainly got it not just for the price but because I had a 99 crown Vic with the same engine and it never let me down

Does the 2003-2004 ford expedition come with the 5.4 2v.

Best engine ever. My 2003 5.4 Ext. Cab has zero issues. I've had it for 20 years!

I just started running non-ethanol in my Toyota 4 cylinder and I noticed a better start up, better mileage, and more smoother acceleration in power.

Shame I do not have this engine in my 06 explorer. I got the six banger with 210 H.P. supposedly When I find me one with the v-8 I will buy the beast. .

Yeah i have a 2002 250 5.4. Love the truck. Before i had a 2006 350 v10 3 valve. That thing needed a new motor after 140k miles
