magic of Buffalo is in the surrounding area. Beautiful scenery, low costs, low traffic, full amenities, low crime, perfect summers, a great place to raise a family. The city itself is nothing special, but does have a few bright spots, for example Elmwood village and the Outer Harbor. imo Quality of life beats the traffic and madness of most major cities.

Point 2 is true of London, England. It is true that (the City of) London has very little light rail other than the very ends of DLR routes (though the Croydon area does), nor does it have "rapid" transit, the Underground and Thameslink being far from rapid, even though convenient.

Don't move to London Ontario. First of all traffic is a nightmare, no ring roads and, multiple train tracks. Old money city, run by teachers and the catholic church. Almost all the commercial and high-rise buildings are own by a crooked businessman. Everything is overpriced. Too many open stree drug injection sites. The homeless people are everywhere. And it's a college and university city, so prepare for intilled, drunk students. Don't move there!

London was the birthplace of the so-called safe injections sites. One of the gravest mistakes ever made by the liberal government. No where in the downtown is it safe. Homeless encampments everywhere drug addicts, walking down just about every street in the downtown now encroaching on the suburbs. An extremely WOKE city council does nothing about it. Virtue signalling and promoting DEI London was a really nice place to live about 10 years ago. 😞

Got back from tulum last weekend. Stayed a week. I've been to tulum 6 times. One visit every 2 years more or less. This time around, I was super disappointed of the experience. I felt tires and robbed al.ost every day. Taxis and food has become super expensive. I remember bekng able to negotiate prices a bit but now it seems like the local have learned to say no and maintain their ridiculous prices. In my 6 visits, I've never ever seen the beach as it was the first time I went there. I remember it was the whitest of the sands and the clearest of the water you can ever get. Now, sand is full of plastic pieces and other residues like dried sea weed or full-on seaweed. Getting around is frustrating. Roads are sub saharan-like. Really bad infrastucture. I dont think I will be going back, sadly.

Moved to Chicago a couple years ago from the west coast because my wife and I couldn’t afford a house, family, and the lifestyle we wanted. 2 out of 3 maybe, but not all of them. Chicago is so much cheaper, it’s night and day. Safety is not nearly the problem it’s made out to be. I’m perfectly fine with my kids walking to school or a friends house, and when they come home we actually have a yard.

@mark I have no idea what your budget is, but ravenswood would fit my boxes of what you asked. Chicago is an enormous city, we moved from San Francisco (smaller city and somehow still 3x the price), so price is very relative. The north side is far less “diverse”, but it’s safe and you can get a SFH there for prices that aren’t insane (to me).

Mexico City is interesting but as usual these travel promotion videos don’t tell the whole unbiased story. Mexico City is CROWDED. The population density is super high. Traffic is ridiculous. You will need 30 minutes to go 5km/3mi away most of the time. Transit system is, in spite of the bs marketing, NOT GOOD. Bad road design, not many subway stops, confusing bus routes. Locals have grown somewhat hostile towards all the foreigners moving here who drive up rent prices. Finally, Mexico City rent is EXPENSIVE. Nearly the avg price to rent a place in USA. Fluffy travel videos about cheap churros and fruit stands are nice but do the real research before you move here else ye shall regret it!

lmao.. I was born in ottawa and lived there 21 years. This guy spews nothing but BS. There are plenty of jobs that don't require bilingualism, and bitching about the cold? Maybe you could learn to dress for the season? One of the main tourist attraction is skating down the rideau canal. This guy sounds like a whiny little bitch.
