ITV World of Sport Theme Tune 1983 (Featuring Seve)
มุมมอง 10K10 ปีที่แล้ว
For UK resident sports fans, this tune may bring back memories of the 5 hours of sport every Saturday presented by Dickie Davies. The Seve clip shown I believe is his tee shot at 17th at Augusta during his 1983 third round? Sadly neither Seve or Eisenhower's tree is with us.
A touch of class!

Ballesteros & Trevino "One Club Challenge"
มุมมอง 946K12 ปีที่แล้ว
First off - Apologies for the original VHS editing on this video tape and the poor picture quality of the channel it was recorded from, but it's still good fun to watch! Filmed soon after Seve's 1984 win I think at St Andrews, both he and Lee Trevino take on Faldo and Aoki in a one club challenge over a few holes at the home of golf. Who remembers this series?

Seve's Miraculous Bunker Shot 1983 Ryder Cup..Where is this clip?!
มุมมอง 140K13 ปีที่แล้ว
One of the greatest golf shots ever by one of the greatest golfers ever Seve Ballesteros and the footage cannot be found! Surely during the final day, at the 18th hole, at the Ryder Cup, the cameras caught this! Where is it? Why is it not shown? HAS ANYONE EVER SEEN IT? At least then we will know a recording was made of it.

I had the great privilege of meeting Jack Nicklaus in Dublin around 2005. What a lovely friendly man.
Seve
1985 was the year of the wonderful Seve/Bernhard rivalry. They were so good.
Considering Jack never played that course and Seve had numerous times, I would say Jack played very well. That 3 put on 18 was the difference in the match. Seve had the edge on 18. The club selection proved it.
They weren’t allowed to line up thier ball for putting ??
He had some scary talent what a player he was
The fantastic thing about Seve was that he had all the confidence is the world that he could pull these shots out of thin air. On his day he was the most magical player to watch! What a character.😊.
I grew up knowing about this legend from word of mouth, remember, before the internet. When legend meant something. Then I got a TV, and saw him in action. I think I was struck by his passion. Weather it be golf or hearing him talk and seeing him smile. I wish he were immortal. So many people in this world have never heard of him. If seve played guitar, or sang, or drove fast cars for a living, he'd be the most popular at it. Charisma and passion and confidence are all you need. People need to wake up and take note of seve as he teaches you how to do the things you want, against all those claiming to have rational thought and opposition to flamboyance, he teaches you how to fulfil a life, how not to get sacked in to the world of screens and monitors. Seve is what live is about. Seve is life.
The most beautiful golf swing of all time. Proud to have been part of Seve’s army in the 80s. He’s untouchable as the greatest golfer to watch of all time
An enjoyable era of golf before equipment and muscle took over
Rip Seve!!
Great video. Incredible guitar.
Seve lost his swing and never fully came back.Must have been very difficult for such a proud man
Two all time greats todays over paid hit it 400 yards arent on the same golf course
😅😂😂😂😂 it's incredible they thought this would be like entertaining for everyone
Seve was Golfing Genius & greatness personified ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
He was the best ! #Magnificent
Honestly, jack was a great golfer but had terrible sportsmanship in my opinion. Saying sarcastic things on the tee walking before the putt was played and being a yanky w*@nker, nice one" hunch back jack"
Nothing sounds like a pured persimmons .
Back when golfers wte not all about themselves. i love how they tallk to each other about their swings afytewr they teed off......would have loved to been walking with them
Good good and does bob does sports 30 years ago
I miss Seve. He was good for golf and even better for humanity. Pure love.
Pure style and charisma!
The all time champ! Top 5 player of all time but without a doubt the most exciting and captivating golfer ever! There will never be another Seve!
No Seve, no golf!
Miss watching Seve and Jack like this.
Seve , el mejor
Sevi was a great player, but had to depend on his short game, as he was wild off the tee. Jack could absorb any of the barbs, being the most successful golfer of his time.
I watch a lot of old golf videos…and I would say there is something completely different about these two golfers. I think the modern game is crafted a lot off of these two right here.
Que grande es Seve, las leyendas nunca mueren, viven por siempre en el corazón y el alma de la gente.
Seve asked Lee if he speaks Spanish. He said no, I speak Mexican.
Jack was 46 years old and a past his prime, Seve was only 29, but great to see the match.
i would like to see golf stars like... Rory. Phil, Tiger etc play with the clubs those guys used Tiger wouldn't have as many Majors i'd bet
Magnificent player and human being. I got to meet him once (I’m from the French side of the Basque country). Amazing warm and dashing smile, and incredible natural charisma. I wanted to be Sève when I was younger - a true hero!
Both absolute Legends with poor technique, after the great swings of Hogan and then Peter Thompson in the 40s 50s and 60s came the 70s and 80s swings, Apart fromTom Weiskopf and a few others none of us had a clue and didn't study Hogan enough including all our coaches, the lack of video didn't help though. The swings over the last 20 years have gone back to the Hogan style and with modern technology the top pro's make the game look a lot easier. Seve was a genius and an honour to have partnered with him 4 times in the Ryder Cup. RIP Seve.
Seve was way overrated.
This will raise some eyebrow
This was recorded the week after Seve won the open at St Andrews in 1984. Great memories of Seve’s dance on the 18th, later on the Sunday night someone had climbed up into the big yellow scoreboard at the 18th and was taking requests from the public below to put their name at the top above Watson, Langer , etc, and then watching these two tackle the old course with a 4/5 iron - happy days.
The best era for golf fans.
Stunning, thank you
I was 15 meters away when he played this shot and not a one piece of sand moved
The best of the best
The greatest golfer in history hitting a 4 iron 180 yards?
46 years old...loft and shaft length of a modern 5-6 iron...and balls 20-30 yards shorter than modern balls!?! Do you know anything about golf???
@@Master...deBater You're so kind with your soft-spoken words. 1986 was not that long ago in my life, junior. I recall hitting my 4 iron 190 yards in 1986, and I'm not a championship golfer.
@@batswbennett I'm calling BS on that claim!!! And certainly at 46 years old you couldn't! But even if it were true...there are plenty of hacks who can hit a modern 4 iron 200+ yards...but can't break par! I personally know a guy who hits his driver 320yds...but can't even break 80 lol. What does any of that prove? Nothing except that you clearly know nothing about golf!!!
@@Master...deBaterWe're talking about the greatest golfer in history at age 46 hitting a 4 iron I80 yards. We're not talking about scoring. You're not very good at this. I do have more knowledge of golf and life in general than you do in your puny millennial manhood. You apparently know your own ego, Gomer. Now, go away, boy.
Drivers look like todays hybrids. Amazing skill
Trevino used to hustle guys with a two liter glass coca cola bottle. Routinely made par with it.
All golfers should do this as part of practice. Your playing partners can have a laugh, while you learn

Seve made the game fun to watch for a little boy in the early 80s in NC. RIP Legend.
