Hi. My name is Ros. I was diagnosed with CFS/ME over 20 years ago. It took me a long time to find and develop the strategies needed to manage and recover. I now have few symptoms and am able to function normally day to day, and I want to share with you the natural and holistic strategies I have learned over the years so you don't have to spend as long as I did to start living your life with freedom again.

Is This the Key to CFS Recovery? The Vagus Nerve Connection
CFS Recovery is a complex issue, but recent studies have shown a connection between a dysfunctional vagus nerve and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. In this video, I'm taking a dive into this subject, discussing these findings, explaining (briefly) what the vagus nerve is and its function, and also demonstrating some techniques you can use daily to heal the vagus nerve and relieve anxiety.

Busy day and feeling tired? Here's what I do.
มุมมอง 35ปีที่แล้ว
Busy day and feeling tired? Here's what I do.
Im aware of no symptom talk. Im somewhat curious is all peiple who test positive for CFS have a chronic epstein bar activation from stress. I have that and am actively working on it but am curious to know if its responsible for many conditions. One of the symptoms is severe fatigue. Labels dont matter i know! But im still curious!
Hi. Currently, there is no test for CFS. The only way that it is usually diagnosed is by taking blood tests and ruling out anything else. I have heard that Epstein Barr may be a factor in developing CFS - but it's very difficult to know whether this is for all cases, or just a few. The trouble with CFS is that it is a syndrome - i.e. a collection of symptoms that have common elements, which is why it's so difficult to pin down to one cause. My theory is that people with CFS can all have a different collection of causes and triggers leading to similar symptoms. But whatever the cause, the strategies for recovery can help everyone.
What a fabulous informative review. I've had ME since '95 after Glandular Fever and already subscribe to Body Keeps the Score and other brain rewiring theories and they definitely work. I tried Curable for a week but found there was way too much reading especially for someone like myself who prefers to listen. I also found that it was too basic however that might be because I had a free trial. However it would certainly help anyone who hasn't realised pain along with anxiety etc start in the brain - very powerful.
Thanks for your comment. Yes, everyone has different ways of learning, so it's a good idea to find the style that works for you. I think Curable does have a lot more in the paid version - including recorded interviews and case studies etc.
I have fibromyalgia , hoping to heal my self , ordered this book , any success stories for the same ? Thank you
Hi - it's a great book, and I hope it works for you. I believe there is an online community run by the author, and I am sure you will find some success stories there. I would also suggest reading it in conjunction with something like the Curable app - which is more focused on chronic pain. Since Curable, and reading this book, I've noticed very few Fibro symptoms myself.

Tanks you so much
While watching the Paris Olympics on tv, I noticed a female athlete that had a tattoo on her inner wrist. It said ‘eat the fear’. It was a light bulb moment for me. Now, whenever I feel fearful, I say to myself ‘eat the fear’ and it has a positive effect. Almost instantly I feel stronger, defiant and less fearful. I think it has something to do with eating connoting being stronger than, or being more powerful than the fear. I hope this is as useful for you as it is for me.
Thank you so much for sharing this - I love little light bulb moments like that! I'm sure it will be useful to other subscribers and viewers too!
absolutely fantastic video - thank you

Thanks for your work❤
this is really good thank you
Great video ❤ I’m looking forward to hearing how you get on. Do you think it would be wise to work with the curable app before reading this book or would they compliment each other?
I think you can do both. In fact, some of the exercises in the Curable app would be very useful as extra practices for awareness and regulation techniques she suggests in the book. I've actually been coming back more to the Curable app while reading the book, so yes I believe they work together quite well.
I can relate to your not getting out much (I’m a second carer for my disabled husband). I lost my mum 18 months ago which I found her death very traumatic and have it on repeat. I am awaiting counselling again and hospital records. Going out wears me out too as much as I love it. Especially to see live music which wrecks a good early night. But there is no way I could rule it out 💯. I think a change of scene and connecting with people are so important to bring you out of your head. Being a carer (10 years) is a great recipe for cfs! Plus grief. Plus (early spontaneous menopause). Plus caring for my widowed elderly step dad. Oh and house renovation…. Aaarrghh! I gave up watching the news just to survive. Well, your videos are definitely an uplift. ❤ I only stop when I’m broken. I’ve just started to rest watching films on my bed. I’ve never done it. I hope it helps me and doesn’t make me go backwards. I’m definitely getting the curable app. You have helped me make that decision. Thank you
Thank you! Sorry to hear of your difficulties - but glad to hear my videos are uplifting! Pampering yourself when you feel low and fatigued is always a good idea - and it certainly always makes me feel better. Make sure that rest is always a part of your day too 🙂

Descriptions are so clear and helpful. Thank you
Thank you for this video! It's definitely something I am currently in the process of really recognizing and working through! I resonated with so much of what you had to say.
Thank you - that's good to hear!
This is ridiculous.
No - amazingly enough, this is all based on scientific research, and people find it very useful.
Hi, 1 year later have you improved more?
Hi - good question! The honest answer is that I still have occasional periods of fatigue, but mostly I'm able to function fully. But it's not been an easy year, with the death of my mother, and other things to deal with - and these events do have an effect, and recovery is never a straight line! I'm currently working on nervous system dysregulation, and so I'm hoping that this is the last piece in the jigsaw. I'll be reporting back on how this is going, along with various useful strategies along the way.
I am reluctant to get the app as £55 is a lot of money. I think nuch of the information you spoke about is something you can get in TH-cam now.
Thank you that is a good explanation. There are two concepts here. 1) Pushing the envelope, and 2) Titration. Pushing the envelope is a bit more aggressive, training the body. Personally, I find this threatening. The titration concept is to be in a place/environment where we feel safe, and then let the body lead the progress. Here the increments are tiny, as you suggested, and as soon as I felt a tinge of "too much" from my body, I settled back into safety. I think we are all different and each of us has to learn the options, and experiment to find what is optional for us.
Thumbs down. Notice the brain retraining people always charge money for it. It's never free. You can't cure CFS by thinking it away. Period.
Thank you for your comment. However, I must address this. Firstly, the people who carry out such therapy do this for a living - just like any other kind of physical or emotional therapy. Of course it's not free! Secondly, this is a misinterpretation of what is going on here. We are not 'thinking it away' - if this was the case, recovering from CFS would be easy. It's not - and neither I nor anyone else is suggesting this. However, like many other diseases and conditions, there are emotional and mindset issues that can be addressed over time to help build confidence and overcome the fear and anxiety that can keep CFS in control. But it takes time and effort. It's not something that anyone is suggesting can be done overnight by a few positive thoughts. Please see my other videos on Dysregulated Nervous Systems, the Curable app and somatic tracking - all of these are scientifically backed.
Thanks, very helpful! :)
Just found your channel. Love your videos!!! ❤️
Gardening is the cause of my ups & downs. This year I have embraced 'wildlife' gardening, unfortunately my husband - who isn't a gardener - hasn't. I am just about learning how to keep within my safe zones, but have sessions when I over do it. Can't help being a people pleaser, I find it very difficult to put myself first. Just found your videos - thank you so much.
Gardening is one of those things that is so easy to overdo - it's always a good idea to set a timer, and keep to several short sessions rather than one long one. One important thing to remember as a people pleaser is that if you don't look after yourself first, you will then be unable to look after anyone else. Just remembering this one thing can be a catalyst for change - but there are plenty of books on the subject too! Thanks for subscribing 🙂
Beautiful mindbody grandma ❤ I love myself and I love you.
Very helpful, thank you! Just came out of a relapse & excited to apply what I learned to my recovery! :)
Thank you so much for the book recommendation! I have ordered it and very excited to read and implement it's suggestions. I am a new subscriber to you and very happy to be here. Also, I love Yorkies :)! Are you a writer? I notice the books behind you on the shelf looks like a writer's resource area. I've had me/cfs for over a decade now but have improved to moderate/mild on good days! Really eager to fully recover now! Thanks for your content, really so appreciated.
How very perceptive of you! Yes, I am a writer - if you want to know more, my writing website is rosamundebott.com. I hope the book helps - I'm finding it very interesting so far.

I love your dog 🐕 ❤️ ♥️
Thank you - she's a lovely companion!
I appreciate your review!
Thank you
Very helpful! Thank you!
❤❤❤❤❤ I have given you a like and a love and a subscribe hit! And I want to share your link. I have two questions. 1. Now that many more months have passed to what degree are you using it and benefiting from it? 2. Since I also struggle with staying on task, due to my a d h d, does anything or anyone help you to stay motivated to keep using this? Automatic billing companies typically want you to forget that you have the service until 10 or 20 years ago by and they're rich! THANX A LOT!
Hi - thank you so much for your comments! To answer your questions: 1. I don't use it every day now, but I do still find it useful on days when I'm feeling a bit below par. I recently decided to renew my subscription - and luckily, they do have a monthly payment scheme now. But they do warn you in advance that the renewal is coming up, so you do have the choice! 2. In the early months of using it, I just added it to my morning routine - and made a commitment to use the app soon after I woke up every morning. I think having a list of things you need to do every day helps (I have lists for everything!) - and because I am so busy, I just find having a daily routine keeps me on track.
I’m thinking of getting this app based on your recommendation. I also have chronic fatigue and fibromyalgia, along with a host of other mind-body pain syndrome. I am a long time student of the work of Dr. John Sarno and his peers. Is this app loosely based on his teachings? Thank you so much for your review.
I'm not absolutely sure, to be honest. But there does seem to be a lot of scientific work coming together that has the same principles. I'm currently reading about Dysregulated Nervous System - and I'll be doing a video on this shortly. I think apps like Curable totally support this teaching.
Do you recommend a particular mediation programme or video?
Hi. I use the Down Dog meditation app (and their yoga app). I love their apps because you can adjust the timings, voice, background music (or none) and you can either have a theme or none. If you're new to meditation, I also recommend Headspace.com.
Anthony William books have really helped me enormously. He understands the true cause of CFS ME. Read his first book “medical medium”; he is light years ahead of the medical profession.
Thank you for this recommendation. I'm currently reading another book on Nervous system dysregulation (which I'll be talking about at some point). I have come across Anthony William before, and find him very interesting (unfortunately, I hate celery juice!) - but I will certainly try and include his teachings in another video
@loveishappiness7330 hi, which book is it of the medical medium please as i'm suffering with fatigue terrible right now as i have fibromyalgia, wound love to have a read of it to see what i can do to help me control this horrible thing 😢 thanks
Really great video, thank you for sharing!
That was great thanks. Nothing better to prove to myself my symptoms must be at least mostly neuroplastic than feeling dreadful then suddenly feeling loads better after a few min of this
I just want to let you know, you helped someone and they mentioned you in an interview. th-cam.com/video/lSbLI4t1AjE/w-d-xo.html
Just to let you know. I think curable now do a monthly subscription
Oh, that's great - thanks very much for letting me know (just in time for my subscription renewal too) 🙂
Thank you
What graded exercise program did you do?
I did a program run by the John Ratcliffe Hospital at Oxford. It was a long time ago, so I'm not sure if it's still running. After a LOT of questions and profiling, I was given a personal program of walking for 5 minutes for a week, and then increasing it by one minute every week. It was also very important not to feel I was pushing myself at any time. Within a few months I was walking for 20 minutes without any ill effects. It wasn't a cure - but it really did increase my confidence in being able to do more without fear of symptoms. I really believe it's the fear that keeps us stuck much of the time.
Seems to be the way to move forward. Have to go slow so your brain won’t overreact. Thank you.
Neurologist days i have migraine in the body no headache rhumo says its fybromyalgia cfs decades found out i have autism adhd hefs genes for it now after 27 years my father has cfs to
I would say absolutely not to jabs. I got M.E/ cfs from a bacterial infection and being on antibiotics for nearly a year. I was never same again. I did get flu jabs aswell. Never again. I never got any COVID jabs as I was so sick and suffered from severe allergies. Also I was against anyone getting it.
Sorry to hear that - I can understand that your experience has put you off having any jabs. I do think it's a personal choice, though.
What is your name?
Rosamunde Bott - but I usually answer to Ros!
After suffering M.e/cfs for 7 years. Absolute debilitating symptoms the first 3 years. Then constant PEM after exercise, stimulation from life basically. I went on holiday as I am so much better was able to go on waterslides felt good on holiday. No symptoms really then when i came home they started and my allergies. I feel completely defeated as I told people i was better. So living a part time life really, having rest days and really bad days in bed. Telling myself its just a blip and i will be better soon.
Hi Esther - thanks for your post. I totally understand how this feels. I think that when we do recover, it's never quite 100% and we are still vulnerable to flare-ups and setbacks - and it can feel really frustrating and depressing when the symptoms start again. I think this is very common, so don't despair - you are not alone! This has happened to me many times - you just need to go back to the strategies that helped you recover and know that things will get better again! All the best x
Sounds mcas or perceived danger no mold etc at home and your away from it and on holiday or different food do you have hypomobility highly related to mcas 26 years CFS 6 years fybromyalgia
@@Truerealism747 I have had severe allergies since a teenager, face swelling, throat swelling really scary, hives all over my body. Flares up then goes away. Took antihistamines for years daily. But now after getting M.E/CFS I learnt about histamine in foods. I eat mostly whole foods. Just drink filtered water, no juice, soft drinks, tea/ coffee alcohol. I eat two meals a day, no snacks. I restricted histamine in my diet two years ago because it was like I had mcas. I lost so much weight and started to introduce foods back into my diet. Sorted me out. I can eat what I want now. No antihistamines and only occasionally does my itching start but never hives and swelling these days. Turn to God and read the bible, these afflictions are hard to live with sometimes we can bring on disease ourselves. I am repenting of my sins and asking God to fully heal me but so grateful for the progress iv made over the years.
