Kaguya-sama wa Kokurasetai: Tensai-tachi no Ren'ai Zunōsen, also known by its English name Kaguya-sama: Love Is War, is a manga series written and illustrated by Aka Akasaka. It began serialization in Shūeisha 's Miracle Jump onMay 19, 2015, and transferred to Shūkan Young Jump magazine in March 2016, and has been compiled into 25 tankōbon volumes so far . The series is published in English by Viz Media. On July 19, 2020, Panini made a simultaneous announcement that it would start publishing the manga in Mexico in September, and in Argentina starting in October of the same year.
Two spin-off manga were released in 2018, while an anime series adaptation produced by A-1 Pictures aired from January 12 to March 30, 2019. It was also adapted into a live-action movie of the same name. directed by Hayato Kawai, which was released in Japan on September 6, 2019. A sequel to the film was confirmed on January 6 , 2021, and will be released on August 20, 2021.
At the Young Jump Bunkasai event organized by Shūeisha , held on October 19, 2019, it was announced that the series had a second season, which was titled " Kaguya-sama wa Kokurasetai? Tensai-tachi no Ren'ai Zunousen ", with the return to production of A-1 Pictures and aired from April 11 to June 27, 2020. 5 6 7
On October 25, 2020, the production of an OVA and a third anime season was announced at the same time during the "Kaguya-sama Wants To Tell You On Stage" special event. 8 The OVA episode is scheduled to premiere in 2021. 9 The OVA is currently scheduled to premiere on May 19, 2021.
As of November 2020, the manga had over 13 million copies in print. In 2020, the manga won the 65th Shōgakukan Award in the general category.
