Well.. I think I’m reassured that the scale has a future! Lots of exciting wee bits n pieces but it’s frustrating that there’s no constant drip of the bigger stuff. However it’s probably unfair to compare with the other established scales. On a positive it was gratifying to listen to Peco’s obvious enthusiasm. Right. I’m off to message Heljan!

As J50 is coreless motor, did you ask whether Green 08 motor has been improved? Class 08 before xmas will be nice, though TMC weathering / motor replacement staff might be busy.

I think what Phil predicts about the Class 37 selling bucket loads will certainly come true. Aesthetically they fill a gap between the steam and modern eras currently on offer, they're the kind of loco you could put on a heritage layout and I reckon many modellers would buy more than a couple of them. Also, very encouraged by Peco's commitment to expanding their TT120 range even if it won't happen overnight.

This exhibition made me take the regrettable decision to put a hold on TT for now and change up to 00. There just isn’t enough out there for me at the moment and I’ve been desperate for any tank or small tender loco for months. I appreciate that a new scale takes time to be established but it doesn’t appear to be taking off as well as first hoped. To learn from the magazine that the release of the J50 was pushed back to January. Then I found out at the show it was pushed back to February, and subsequently in the evening I saw that that date had changed to March/April was the final straw for me. I understand timings slip occasionally but manufacturers need to manage their customer’s expectations better otherwise it’s just constant disappointment and then some of us will just give up.

Excellent review of the show, will be there next year, I missed this one as I was stuck sunbathing and drinking beer in Tenerife 😢

That is great news about the class 08. God I wish I they done a Smokey Joe or some other 040 or more 060 Not everybody's into the larger engines. I prefer smaller ones personally.

Hi Peachy. I'm new to the hobby and have just purchased a new set from TMC but was considering the Dapol couplings shown in this video (I realise it's quite old now) but wondered 2 things: 1. Has anything changed in regards to magnetic couplings since recording and 2. Where to purchase the Dapol couplings (and where do the bar magnets come from)? You are fast becoming my go to source for TT120 and also any idea if there will be a re do of the Peachy 7 plank wagon???? :)

You know how to make someone weak. 😅 Luckily you don't have the Scotsman Era 11 available online, otherwise I wouldn't have been able to hold back despite my countless pre-orders from Hornby and Continental 😂. I had already seen that the Trigo is exactly the same as today's Scotsman, right down to the last detail, and so I hoped that Hornby would release it themselves. But if you offer these later inline I'll be relieved, but preferably not before March for the sake of my wallet.

Just be aware - Trespass and criminal damage (tagging) on my layout comes with a £10,000 fine and 6 months imprisonment 🤣🤣🤣 I was looking at the TMC website and thinking about getting an LMS duchess renumbered/renamed. After seeing those models I'm very tempted to order one. I'm surprised that no one has 3D printed different types of containers yet.

Interesting idea to run a preserved loco on a modern image layout. I've got an A4 on sale that nobody wants to buy (bought in impatience when TT:120 was first launched). Maybe I can justify running it alongside my era 7/8 stuff. Modelu figures would look rather good... Nice to see TMC continuing to support and innovate in TT:120.
