To understand the conflict in the Democratic Republic of Congo, particularly in the eastern region, we need to talk about its deep historical roots with ties to colonial history, ethnic tension, resource exploitation and international intervention.
Who are the other factions involved in this conflict?
This is the story of Rwanda's intervention in DR Congo.

The classic problem with Africa is that Africans have been miseducated and brainwashed by white supremacists to deny their own ancestors but make European colonialists the new ancestors. Our ancestors created 2100 ethnic countries in Africa which still exist but are kept in the backseat even today. What the white colonialists did at the Berlin Conference 1884/1885 was to bundle these 2100 ethnic countries into 52 colonial contraptions as a wicked experiment to promote chaos and exploitation. So why don't Africans rejuvenate their 2100 ethnic countries instead of maintaining the current pseudo-countries which are obvious traps set by white supremacists? Africans are still brainwashed and that's why. Hope they realize that until they rejuvenate their ethnic countries Africa will remain a source of shame. Abolish the colonial contraptions and declare the ethnic countries immediately just as our ancestors correctly did. The UK has 4 ethnic countries and the EU has 27 ethnic countries. Africa is way bigger and should have the original 2100 ethnic countries again so that the correct identity and language will be applied in each ethnic country as is due for human beings. Today we are still bundled like idiots in colonial contraptions using identity and language imposed by white supremacists in Africa 148 years ago.

I went through almost all the comments under this video, and I noticed that almost everyone is focusing on the narration and editing of the video. Yes, the video is great, well done, Jude Bela. However, as the youth of this golden continent, Africa, I wonder what we have researched on our own and what solutions we can provide to these issues. Have we even realized that all of this is happening because, years ago, people sat down to plot and plan the tools and scenarios to bring down Africans?
I have lived in Congo some years ago. When you dive deeply into the history of our people in today’s Central Africa, you will find that they were more cohesive and culturally accepting. Although groups were somewhat diverse just like every family group in Nigeria or Ghana today, they lived peacefully with very few problems, until Europeans introduced division, pushing the idea that "this group is better than that group" as part of their plan. If there is anything tearing down Africa, it is the introduction of this division by Europeans. All of this was part of their plan. I am bringing your minds to something.
The questions we must ask ourselves: Who brought this system of divide and conquer? Who supplied the weapons that the so-called rebels are using? Who provided them with those distinct soldier uniforms? Are there foreign mining companies in Congo operating right now while these wars are ongoing? The answer is yes. Why is this happening? Well, you know the answers already.
If someone brings something to you that does not help or serve your people well, what should you do? These are the questions we must confront as the Youth of this continent; even as we seek to understand and address the challenges facing Africa today.
If it is not for the benefit of Africans or 50/50 deal, cut-off the deal, and let us pay-them-off.

A detached, neutral analysis, full of credited information. The only thing lacking is the downplaying of the sense of a racial superiority among the Tutsis. This one thing is the real casus belli in Rwanda, Burundi and Eastern Congo. Many commentators avoid highlighting it for fear of being branded racists themselves. But, speak to any Hutu in the Great Lakes, and they will tell you that's the real elephant in the room!
Tutsis lived in peace for a millénium in Congo. They only stirred up when RPF came to power in Kigali.

If possible please do a follow up video I am sure you can find more information how the DRC government have never protected congolese tutsis but have instead integrated FDLR into the DRC army. The FDLR has became rich and powerful. BTW, residents in areas controlled by the m23 regardless of their ethnicity can testify that the m23 is very disciplined and never mistreat civilians unlike the DRC army. I am just hoping that the minority tutsis voice can be heard for once they have been suffering for soo long. If only our congo can go back to unity and living peacefully between ethnicities!! @realjudebela I'm from Kivu province in Congo, and I thank you for covering this conflict; however, it's a grave mistake to say that tut$I have been living in the Congo for centuries. It's not true. There's no scholar who have proven that and there is no evidence of that.
Since you're an English speaker, I recommend you a lecture about this issue by a PHD in peace building with the title: Banyamulenge - The Truth of The Matter (Geopolitical Identity)
For books, I recommend: ... of Tutsi in Eastern Congo/Zaïre A case study: South Kivu(Pre-Colonial to 2018) by John Kapapi, Holocaust in Congo by Charles Onana, Kings and Clans by D Newburry
I understand that a lot of people are mislead by the videos circulating of Nyere and Mbeki. If you want to understand that, its like what the US said before invading IRAQ, and you can read why Nyerere and Mbeki in the book: Africa's W War by Gerard Prunier pg.65-67

I was waiting for you to speak on DRC and Rwanda conflict, overall you did a good job but at some point it felt like you were giving too much credit to nkunda and others Rwandan proxies , nkunda and his colleagues are war criminals , responsible for a lot of atrocities ( multiple genocide, rape, displacement, looting, illegal exploitation of Congolese natural wealth etc ....).
Congolese Tusti/banyamulenge (Congolese Tusti are groups of Tusti present in Congo before june 30th 1960, that criteria is the same for all Congolese ethnic groups, Rwandan migrants mainly from the 60s and the 90s are not Congolese ) are not a marginalized ethnic group, despite being less than 1% of the Congolese population, they are overrepresented in the government ,the police force, and the army.
When nkunda and others Rwandan back militias were fighting the DRC government for allegedly discriminating the Congolese Tusti ,azarias ruberwa a tusti was vice president, bisengimana a tusti was the chief of the national police force, moise nyarugabo was a senator and he is now a member of the national assembly, gisaro is the current minister of infrastructure .
many others were and still hold prominent role in the country,
Congo like many other African countries have some ethnic tension that Rwanda is exaggerating to destabilize us for 3 decades,we have nine neighboring countries ,400+ ethnic groups ,many ethnic groups present in Congo are also found in neighborhing countries, outside of Rwanda and sometimes Uganda not a single of our neighbor invade us to defend a particular ethnic group ,those "congolese " rebels are loyal to Rwanda not to Congo, anytime they were incorporated in the national army it end up bad, They don't want to work outside of Eastern DRC ,after any disagreement with the national government they start a new war, they always defend Rwandan interest.rwanda use them to undermine our institutions,Rwanda is in Congo for looting our minerals and land not for humanitarian purpose.

You know things like this get me bewildered….
We know all our conflict is the West's deliberate efforts to keep Africa underdeveloped, divided, and conflicted. We're aware of their historical atrocities, support for apartheid, and ongoing land theft in Palestine.
Why can't we acknowledge the alarming reality: We, the Melanated (Dark Skin Folk) are an endangered human species. Our ancestors were massacred in North Africa, Australia, Canada, and North & South America through the same tactics.
Why can't we understand that to survive, we must transcend tribal and cultural divisions, recognizing our shared struggle? Western religions and ideologies have divided us for far too long.
Why can't we see that we're one people, one continent, facing a common threat? Our unity is our only hope for survival. The alternative is doom.
Why can't we confront the truth, awaken our collective consciousness, and forge a united Africa, strong and resilient in the face of adversity?
We have internet plus history in our grasp yet we prefer to watch silly comedies and ignore the facts that a bioweapon warfare is going on in our continent. Out of the 7.4 million South Africans with HIV, only 200k of these HIV patients are white the remaining 7.2 million are black. Plus most of them are gay and refuse to give birth.
What happens when people refuse to reproduce?
This is long… my apologies… but it's just sad seeing us playing the games of the colonizers so ignorantly.

I see this as a territorial dispute and not an ethnic one; everyone in Eastern Congo is Congolese, Tutsi, or Hutu. It is the responsibility of the DRC to protect its citizens by stopping the Hutu militias from attacking Tutsi civilians.
On the other hand, it is also Congo's responsibility to protect Hutu citizens from the M23. That said, Rwanda has no respect for Congo's sovereignty and this should be a cause of concern for other African nations and UN at large.
Also, the Congo govt has shown bias in recent wars by favouring Hutus as such, Tutsis in Eastern Congo feel vulnerable, and as the host country, the DRC should integrate both communities into society without bias.
That said, this should not distract us from the bigger picture; Congo is being stabbed on all sides, its wealth is being siphoned and its people are oppressed. M23 is not the only culprit, the West, East, Congo gvt, and bad African neighbours. My heart goes out to Batoto, ba Kongo

  • @TheeQuirkyPanda

So, the assessment here lacks nuance.
First, the FDLR no longer exists. It is simply a myth that Rwanda must maintain to justify their violation of Congolese sovereignty. We are now 30 years after the genocide. These 'rebel' men are 30 years older... So, most are dead, elderly, or absorbed into the general population. Thus, no longer constituting a threat of any kind. If they feel as though genocidaires remain, they can submit their identities to the ICC.
The overwhelming majority of Rwandans in Congo are Hutu people who fled retaliation- even if they had nothing to do with the genocide of 94. These people are also targeted, more violently to add, by Tutsi paramilitias than the other way around.
Second, Mobutu did not support genocidaires. That's simply a lie that has persisted in history. Mobutu supported a Hutu majority political order. He was an ally of Habyarimana. Whom, Kagame considers as the architect of the genocide... which makes very little sense since Habyarimana's allies were the first eliminated during the genocide's pogroms.
Third, it is not true that the Congolese political establishment did not respect their end of the bargain with Kaunda and his men. They rebelled once more after spending several months without pay and proper military infrastructure... which is something that all Congolese soldiers face... the state coffers are usually empty. Why did they specifically rebel because of that while most Congolese soldiers simply muddle through the shortcomings of the state?
This is because their rebellion happened out of basic political and economic interests... it had nothing to do with perceived discrimination. It was about the lack of food and pay first. Then, it was about their economic interests and ethnic allegiances.
Fourth, the economic incentive is not a new one. Various UN reports have confirmed the smuggling of conflict minerals into Rwanda from the DRC since as early as 2004/2005.
Fifth, the analysis is dodging the fact that there are 4000 Rwandan soldiers in DRC right now. They are directly supporting the M23. They are also there illegally as their presence was not approved by the legislative and executive bodies.
We're also ignoring that hundreds of paramilitias exist in the country, and none has ever been able to completely seize a city nor has any ever threatened to march to the capital. Thus, this group evidently has sponsors. Who are these actors giving them military equipment? Training them in specialized warfare? This cannot be done by a group of unskilled and illiterate people, which most Banyamulenge people and Rwandan refugees are.
Many also talk about so-called grievances... it makes no sense that people who are disenfranchised to the degree claimed can pool together enough resources to have millions of dollars worth of equipment... it just doesn't follow logic.
Lastly, this analysis did not address how Ntaganda has direct kinship links with Kagame and how they both come from the Tutsi political elite that fled Rwanda for Uganda to prepare a coup for... decades. The M23 has a direct foreign element to it. It is not a Congolese rebel group. It is a proxy that has successfully used history, genocide, and crisis to justice its reign of terror. It is a mixed bag of Rwandan soldiers and former refugees. The Tutsis who consider themselves Congolese (Banyamulenge people) have their own paramilitary groups. And, unsurprisingly, they do not have the resources to seize a city. They usually carry small-scale terror attacks.
I always ask these questions: if this group revendicates their rights... why do they directly target civilians and not military personnel? Why do they commit mass rapes? Why do they seek to terrorize populations to the point of making them afraid to come back home? And lastly, why do they ALWAYS target resource rich territories? Why don't they ever fight their guerilla wars with the so-called FDLR that is allegedly in the mountains of Eastern DRC? Even though no one has ever found the FDLR's encampments or proof of their targetting of Congolese Tutsis.
Also, ask yourself... if Rwanda has limited involvement, why does it's state department constantly go on these social media campaigns spreading misinformation? Why are there paid ads and sponsored recommendations of THEIR media organizations' version of the so-called facts if they are not involved? Why support a rebel group on the basis of ethnicity instead of offering them to come back home?
I will close with this: Rwanda is a disaster waiting to happen. This country has never healed from its genocide, and Kagame's firm hand is the only thing holding it together. People disappear, get arrested, are assassinated -both domestically and internationally- for simply questioning the regime's official genocide narrative. As the rest of Africa abandons Congo... the repercussions of Kagame's will to power and/or his unavoidable downfall will be a catastrophe that the continent might never recover from. The failings of history will catch up to us. The blood of over 6 million people have fed anger and resentment into the country's soil. I fear that another tragedy is waiting to unfold.

"First, the FDLR no longer exists. It is simply a myth that Rwanda must maintain to justify their violation of Congolese sovereignty. We are now 30 years after the genocide. " This is a funny statement given the UN reports that accuse Rwanda of backing M23 also warn Congo to stop supporting FDLR hhhhh so you just choose to believe one side of the report because it fits your Narrative, if thats the case you don't trust the UN reports either
"Lastly, this analysis did not address how Ntaganda has direct kinship links with Kagame and how they both come from the Tutsi political elite that fled Rwanda for Uganda to prepare a coup for... decades" Another funny statement dude you are funny.. Kagame fled to Uganda at age of 4 to prepare a coup for decades lmao.
"The Tutsis who consider themselves Congolese (Banyamulenge people)" hhhh you don't even call them congolese yourself when they have been there for hundreds of years, recognized as refugees by the UN when they have a country.
Most of what you are saying are person beliefs and tiktok videos ask yourself this ask yourself that.. Most of what this video says is the true history that can be backed by recorded histroy not speculations of yours.

Everything that you said above is accurate 1000% backed by newspaper articles, diplomatic cables (Wikileaks), vetted documentaries and books by African History & Geopolitical analysts. I can truly tell that you have done your research extensively.
Not only did Mobutu not welcome the genocidaires into then Zaire, he wanted to have them registered and screened like anyone else coming in the territory which the UN and many western countries vehemently refused.
For decades now, it is well documented and reported that most of these paramilitary groups that come into DRC then terrorize the populace but when faced with greater firepower or military strategy disappear into (you guessed it!) Rwanda and Uganda mostly but sometimes Burundi. Many such eye-witness accounts are even on Western news channels as are those of the soldiers of these paramilitary when caught as they say they hail from Rwanda and Uganda.
This issue is made far more complex than it true is.

He came last in elctions in 1980 in uganda and got guns and went to become a gurilla man and killed 500,000 ugandans to yake power. As a son of a tutsi refugee he doesnt even care about uganda. He always says helives and fights for his beliefs and his Tutsi family. Not anyone else. Of cos m7 is th one who shot down hutu president habyarimanas plane to start the genocide and put the boy living in his home as rwanda president after indoctrinating him enough. Then thy needed to lootcongos minerals to build their tutsi empire in rwanda. Kagame is just a pawn. The yutsi king andmasterplanner is M7

@rickyreward226 This is the 21st Century . The age of civilisation and information. The tutsies should stop jaunting down innocent DRC citizens in proxy primitive fights. One grave offence that Paul Kagame has made is to defy the souvreignty law. Another offence is looting DRC by proxy. That is the behaviour of a Thug. Thuggery is the height of lawlessness.
At a time, the AES leaders gave Mother Africa her" Bragging Rights" . Kagame decided to unleash a show of Shame on Africans. This is sad.

They are not fighting tribal wars. They are a nation with similar history, literally flanked by Namibia and Zimbabwe, who are allies of the DRC, that is in an unending war with Rwanda, Burundi, and Uganda, who keep making significant progress in central Africa. If they do not pay attention, they too will be impacted eventually.
