As a young man growing in Cameroon, i worked in this industry to help educate myself. I will sleep at the beaches to collect and trade my own petrol. Never knew i was a thief as it was normal then.
I'm from the south of Africa it looks like west Africa is the worst place to leave in. Angola has oil if it smuggled I'm sure it goes to rich coutries.
Only he avoids talking about his own country Cameroon that has the most rotten and rotting political system in Africa. He’s next to a hypocrite. Until I start seeing him taking on those equatorial gorillas wrecking Cameroon then I’ll call him fair in judgement.
No wonder most of Africa is in disrepair and is a colossal joke to the rest of the world. Corruption starts at the highest office. Truly disgusting and heart wrenching.
Huh? You got that opinion about MOST of Africa, from this one video. I can assure that this is NOT why most of the 54 countries in Africa are in disrepair. Not even close smh
I watched from beginning till the end. This is so interesting! From Benin Republic, Nigeria, Cameroun, Chad, Libya, Malta, and back to Africa, it was a good ride.
In Feb 2024, an unmarked barge entered the water of the islands of Trinidad and Tobago, and crashed into the shallow waters of Tobago, unloading oil onto the shores. The barge sanked and no one was ever named as the owner and no crew were ever found. Your video is quite helpful in giving an answer to the mysterious situation

Your channel has opened my eyes to a lot of things that goes on in this country called Nigeria….it so sad that many people are blinded by partisan propaganda and thank you for the great work you do. More power to you
In any country such news will make government to retire or revolution starts or mass protests. In Nigeria, meh, Baba doing great, let's re-elect him again 😂

Hello and thank you, you have a new subscriber, I'm from a fledgling new nation that also has oil, Timor-Leste, i hope our oil won't be cursed and really help my young, first nation of the millennium thrive. ❤
I keep saying it, we are up against way more than simple bad governance of our useless politicians. I support all that want to vote, but we need to come together, we as in Nigerians. You, my young brother, are doing a fantastic job in exposing the rot and horrors of the ruling class. It will only be us that will save ourselves. And it will be much easier if we work together. God bless.
Just a bit of correction; the governments isn't losing billions of dollars, the citizens of the country are losing billions; the governments are well aware of the illegal operations and can put a stop to it if they want to.
The issue isn't governments not being able to invest in schools, hospitals etc due to oil theft. The issue is the government choosing not to invest, recovered funds only end up being sold again by those who confiscated it in the first place.
Nigeria has too much oil enough for smugglers, government, bunkerer and worldwide. smugglers has nothing to do with out poor oil economy... it's just a charade.
Jude, what hurts the economies of oil producing countries are the useless and wasteful governments. The question you should be asking is why has NNPC in Nigeria for example not been able to get the refineries to work after all the billions spent trying to fix the refineries? Why can't African countries refine their own crude? Why can't the government/ security agencies stop smuggling? What does the government in Nigeria for example have to show for the billions of dollars earned over the years? The Nigerian custom service, other security agencies, the NNPC (adding NNPC to the list makes it laughable) and the NMDPRA put together are complicit in the problem they want to solve.
Have the governments of the countries you mentioned been investing before the start of this oil theft we are complaining about ? Is oil a 🤬 curse ? Before anything else,we need to complain about Africa,s failed governments first!!
If the Government were not corrupt and set up refineries and import gasoline to African countries put Africa first and create self sufficient Africa this illegal trade would not be happening ...unity is what is needed
Your stories are very educational and informative. This highlights the devastating impact the Transatlantic Slave trade still has on parts of West Africa as now a precious resource is being smuggled and traded outside that region. There is NO reason for ECOWAS to be so toothless as member states could create crude oil barrel reserves which they can use to borrow against loans from regional and international banks! Once that works well, they can work on a reserve currency against which they can buy goods at international markets and acquire foreign currency too which solves the inflation, debt and other fiscal deficits they are facing! It's a pity there aren't too many resourceful and proactive leaders and policy makers who think of solutions such as this. There is no reason for Africa to be hopelessly and foolishly in debt!
@@realjudebela too true but part of this is due to a lot of our governments and leaders not wanting to develop their people and pushing them out of industries making the uncompetitive in favour of foreign investors and public -private partnerships which advance corruption. But this is what happens when you advance a coloniser's systems and legislation instead of creating your own that will turn the tide against that debilitating legacy. At this point, they are responsible for their own lethargy in correcting and fixing things!
It's a double edged sword. Govts want to subsidize the oil to protect their citizens from high fuel prices. Smart citizens(smugglers) take the incentive to make some quick buck in the neighbouring countries where oil prices are higher If prices are unsubsidized, the local consumer suffers and smugglers lose the incentive to smuggle the product. If it continues to be subsidized, smugglers shall remain in business. They shall always find a way to continue their lucrative business despite any actions taken by govts to stop them.
The government needs to use tact in combating this. Set environmental fighters who will be angry to see this happening against them. Tactfully expose this to them and make them get more info as new frontiers are discovered. There are individuals who will be morally inclined to make this fight their cause, and many of them have access to resources too.
You’ve only exposed small scale smuggling. We need to know what these big men with big stomachs smuggle…the ones driving landcruisers and living in plush residences

Smuggling might have something to do with the price being subsidised. At normal price for the product there will be no incentive to smuggle.

So you want to hurt your own economy because of smuggling, you are not serious
