    the gearbox is actually called a harmonic drive to the best of my knowledge, and stepper motors are rated such as nema 17, 23, and so on, the motor there if not mistaken is a 400 watt servo motor, so probably a nema 24 bolt flange. Actual servo motors tend to have larger shafts. Im in the same boat s you, however im small, just me, and built my 1st cnc milling machine over the course of 2 years, with bt30 spindle and 12 position rotary tool holder. just got my first adept 550 robot and also doing new controls for it but with ac servo motors and amplifiers

I am working to use a couple of Heidenhain scales I have by interfacing them through a Sin/Cos-to-digital convertor from iC-Haus with a Teensy through to a Pi or Touch DRO. I have a Pi with touch screen so at the moment am looking to go that way --- please would you be so kind as to share your source code for the teensy and the Pi - I will of course share back anything I do. Something i dont understand, got the first version of the software. Installed on raspberyy with no other conections. No closing switch and no parteject switch, but the software runs again and again, doesent look for the mold close switch and the ejection switch. in my opinion, the software hast to stop wenn there comes no signal from the moldclosed switch. Or is the programming of the switches as opener? Anyway there is no connection plan or is this the same for the second version of the software?

    • @705cnc
      @705cnc ปีที่แล้ว

      The inject solenoid should be wired in series with the mold close switch. The software fires both mold close and inject at the same time. However, the inject won't happen until the mold close switch is satisfied. In other words, the inject solenoid is hardwired NOT to inject until the mold is verified closed. After the inject timer times out, the inject solenoid opens. The mold should remain closed to cool further until the cycle timer ends and the mold close solenoid opens. In auto mode, the cycle repeats if the part detect switch is made. This is not a good design. If the part detect input is forced true all the time the cycle will just repeat and repeat. What should happen is the software should look for a transition, or toggle, on the part detect input. That would handle a stuck input. Again, hope this all helps, Jim
