I love these chalk full sets.
@@kenannand1870 *Chalkdust full
This Tweezer is one of the greatest achievements of humankind. Many times over these two days, I would stop and just acknowledge that I could not believe what I was hearing.
I was just listening to this and I think I hear a mind left body jam
@@bryangordon831 Where at - what time stamp?
Right at two hours and three minutes
@@bryangordon831 Ah, I think I know where you’re talking about. I think of this jam in three sections - the more “rock” section, the “lullaby,” and the “ambient space rock.” :) I think you might be referring to the second “lullaby” section where they set up that progression with the descending bass line root notes, I’m not sure the progression - and I’m not sure if that constitutes a technical “Mind Left Body” jam progression. It sounds a little different to me, but maybe someone else could weigh in!
@@bryangordon831 Yes, that’s the section - one of my absolute favorites.
Such an epic experience. Thanks for sharing! I need to post my footage from outside the shows (the forest, the city, the insane traffic to get in there...).
Sat on Alligator Alley for 11 hours to get into the venue (after driving 11.5 from Atlanta) and the 12/30 sets alone made it worth the trip. No way anyone spent Y2K having more fun than we all did down in Big Cypress.
True dat!
Yeah, that wait was brutal. I think it was like 16 hours for me.
We were so excited to go we left a day early. Just took us a couple hours to get in and set up. 18 years old and had an incredible time. I still have my ticket stubs framed.
took us 14 hours :)
It was a long trip down alligator alley but we made the best of it. And such fun couple of days.
In a year full of great Ghost jams, this is one of the best. Not a wasted note.
So underrated. Nobody ever talks about it but it’s probably my favorite.
One of my favorite Mike's. Seeing the stage doused in fog during that evil jam makes it more magnificent.
Literally said the same to my girl a sec ago. And, yes, I was there lol
I'll never forget that Mike's and the fog. I was out of my mind but will never forget that. I swore the stage levitated
One of the best NYE's I've had in my lame 45 years of life.
Yep 44 here and definitely agree. Feel blessed to have been there.😀
@@lukefish7562 same here!
Exactly the same for me.
Saw the Dead NYE 87. I was 18. This was number 2. What an experience though. Love what the Seminoles did for us.
One of the best? Its not that close for me...
A literal treasure trove of goodness. Such a seminal event.
Or perhaps a “Seminole” event...
Thank you, Pharchive! A well spent Saturday night, and I look forward to watching 12/31 as soon as you make it happen ;) I appreciate all of your hard work in making these nights possible🤘🏻
Thank you for this posting of this show! Was at this show and it is perfect timing to find this post!!!! I’m going to watch all of it! Well just first set tonight.
Such a great feeling during that Hood
It was like "wow we've got a whole nother set after this! Plus tomorrow! This is perfect!"
These shows were so much fun. 99 was a killer year IMO.
shut up man
@@ronbar4192 No…Don’t think I will Ron Bar!
@@aclarkedesign so don't it! what about that bro
@@ronbar4192 “so don’t it?” Are you trying to say donut? Not sure what you’re getting at “bro”…
I was there for this (trippin balls). It is pretty amazing that semi quality video exists.
TY for posting this. This entire show is underrated and underappreciated because of the next day. We appreciate ya!
Yee haw! What a time/experience that was! Thank you very much for sharing! 🙂
God bless you for recording and sharing this wonderful evening 🙏
This was my first show. Can’t wait to see this again. ✌🏼✌🏼✌🏼✌🏼
Hell of a first show!
They need to do a festival again
What a time it was Pham ❤️✨
first day was awesome. i was 8th row until it got dark which was luckily after the first set and the Light up or Leave Me alone was worth every penny
None of the guys I was with knew this tune and I not only knew it but I LOVED it. I was floored when I realized what they were playing (they have such a way of doing that sometimes) and completely AMAZED at the energy with which they were playing. My high point for day 1 as well. Now I'm off to listen to it just because. Thanks for the reminder Scott!
That Light Up or Leave Me Alone is cemented on my list of all timers.. such a blissful jam and remarkably compact
Thank you thank you!!
Ive never been the same since that Mikes
phish in the 90's what a time!!!!! phish now what a time!!!
Nice to finally relive the first day again, can't wait. I don't know why Phish will not just release the whole thing.
I don’t think they recorded it. No soundboard audio or anything. Kinda ridiculous
Please send the links to those
All I’ve ever seen is remastered aud taping
@@Jadedphuck th-cam.com/video/UEK8oV1qdz0/w-d-xo.html
Most of the big set just randomly showed up online a few years ago via the pro-shot stuff. I think all but a few songs of that set are in various places around here. I made the decision long ago to wait for the real (mixed and officially released) soundboard to listen to it, so I don't know how comprehensive the link I gave is, but it's what I have bookmarked for my reference
I've always assumed that they'll probably release them the day they retire the band for good, as a celebration/going away thing. Trey's on record several times saying that he doesn't want to ever listen to that weekend, because it could never live up to his memory of it. That said, they're all well aware that it's by far the most-desired unreleased stuff
@@Jadedphuck My nephew gave me an eight cd set of the whole weekend. I think it was recorded from the temporary radio station. Then I can remember a box set on the phishnet site of the whole soup to nuts . Here comes the sun playing on the sound system a few moments after jons last cymbal tap to end the epic all night set.
The best era of Phish
the absolute business. Mike's song Limb by Limb and Tweezer are all outstanding. Mike heavy show
First time I ever noticed Trey was on the downtown at a show. Back then he was riding that wave and it fed into the edge he had. A few years later, it was a different awkward and uncomfortable story.
The best Phish. This era is a huge influence on my playing with Glass Pony
Skipping towards the stage entrance when WITS started up feeling waves of euphoria is something I will never forget
Such a groovin force in '99
just wonderin'...doesn't PhiSH have the big screen camera feeds for this magical run? Are they allergic to money lol. I would pay sick cashish to see these shows pro-shot, the 31st was my 27th birthday and we did mescaline which I was high until the 2nd of Jan.
Never tried mescaline. Can you describe it and possibly compare it to L or mushrooms?
Oh hell yeah. I don’t think I can find anything besides the midnight set and the sound check on TH-cam.
Prelude to total greatness.
what an unexpected treat. there for the whole experience. best time possible. ready for Y2K to shut down our whole world. Ha ha ha.
This is the first show where I ever really noticed Trey was itching and scratching and had that voice where you knew he was getting down if you know what I mean, but it has not affected his playing and the bad days of all that was still a bit of a distant Horizon...
I can remember the playing in the whole concert of the 30th a little better than the 31st honestly, the fog and Mike's thing, witnessing it from the last row of the delay towers, I'll never forget that.
Limb By Limb is incredible here
One of my absolute favorites - a hypnotically raging cacophony.
I was there one hell of a weekend
What a hoot!
I bought 4 tix, 2 we used. Tried to kick down tickets at the gate but the police moved us. Should have went back to the gas station to give them away. Oh well. We shared our tent and food with a gentleman from Houston. His fellows and he got separated. Drove 2380 miles to attend. So exciting. So organized. So groovy.
01:56:00 jam commences
Freakin killer!!!
One of the best sets of my life...but DAMN WHY do male sound engineers have to run the HI EQs, so HI!?
I came here for the Tweezer.
I think this is my favorite Tweezer. That ambient ending....
A melancholic lullaby tearjerker of astounding collective improvisational mastery.
Mike's sticks out as this day's highlight in my mind. What with the alien spaceship hovering over the band and such...
I was there man
That fuckin tweezer man
Good looking out
Real hoopers know
Once again pharcide dropping the diggity
Any chance you have the evening set? I was there and I remember that one the best… and it was the only full set I was able to get in full on disk way back when. It’d be fun to watch it. Thanks for this!
All three sets are here...
@@wizzlemane7308 cool!!! Just so we’re on the same page, I meant the evening set before “the set” on 12/31 with “Tube” and “After Midnight”, etc.
