I had a charger 024. I loved it. It was a 4 speed, it got 42 MPGs and I actually pushed snow in it once. But my ex totaled it when I only had 3 payments left. 😢😢😢 I had 160,000 mi on it. It ran great.

Man I'd truck the sh*t outta that. Looks fun. Single axle though, not hauling many gallons to be honest. (Not modern tires so probably even less. But as laid out, that's 17k rear axle, 12k front steer axle. Max 29k then. Truck alone is probably almost 10k. 19k for load, about 7lbs a gallon; so 2,714 total gallons. Modern tanker...4 compartments, they max out by weight not by volume...1500, 3500,2500,1000 gallons. Be an awful lot of trips with that little truck for delivery)

I can't believe I only just discovered this channel @RETRO CAR some topic suggestions; Dan Wood's (who worked on the Roach Coach) previous build "The Ice Truck" (which had write-ups in old, 70's Rod & Custom mag, and also The Rodders Journal in the 00's. Also Dean Jeffries' "Manta Ray". Chuck Miller's line of full-size "Zingers", built to promote the models. A guy named Aaron Grote built a crazy Roth/Starbird style bubbletop called "Atomic Pink". The old "Golden Submarine" enclosed, open-wheel racecar that Barney Oldfield drove would also make a great subject. And anything about the early customs of Harry Westergard would be incredible. Love the channel.

What a cool vehicle. Very smart of Texaco to use this as a marketing gimmick. It reminds me of the GM Futureliner (but a LOT shorter). The Futureliner was introduced in ‘36 and was also designed as a promotional vehicle. I believe there were 6 or 8 of those made, but at least one of them has been fully restored and is road worthy. It’s a beast!

This car would look right at home either racing at Le Mans, or pulling up to the entrance of an upscale restaurant. Simply beautiful! Thanks for sharing this with us! 108th Like.

“Never having completed the 3rd grade” isn’t even a sentence that makes any sense. That’s still an age group that’s only purpose is to be babysat. You could say “never began high school” maybe. Credentials aren’t just awarded for everything. You will never find an arbiter verifying imaginary credentials in your life. It literally doesn’t matter if you’re getting the 3rd degree getting a job at the cia. Nobody is reviewing resumes like “I see this one doesn’t have his high school diploma, let’s check if he’s got a middle school diploma. No? Well tell me he graduated the 3rd grade diploma. He graduated the 2nd grade? Well that’s something” you’re academic permanent record for college’s review doesn’t even begin until high school. You could’ve just said he never went to school. I don’t understand what impression you’re trying to state in saying he never finished the 3rd grade. Ok he never went to school? What do you call job training? Is that just a lower level than school?

My last RV was also made when people cared about quality. It was a 1970 Silver Streak. It was similar to the Airstreams, because the owners of the Silver Streak company had once been partners with the guys that started up the Airstream company!
