Beautiful curves and reliable engine. That's all a car needs. We all apriciate beauty and semplicity more than functionality and speed records. After all, the car is just what we wear when we walk out of home. Thank you for sharing
I had a VW bus engine in my Beetle and I could pin the speedometer on that at 90! When a cop pulled me over the only question he asked me was, "what do you got in this thing?!" It's surprised a lot of people. I would love to have had one that look like this
This is the first I'm hearing about this intriguing, limited production car from Brazil. It's amazing when you think of all the conversions based on the standard VW chassis and engine. Thanks for making and sharing! 49th Like.
If you look at this car at 90 degrees directly from the side (@0:25 and 2:55 into the video), it looks really nice. Almost, and dare I say it, Lamborghini Miura... _ish!_ But from any other angle, it's looks somewhat out of proportion. Still, it looks really intriguing.
That was an excellent-looking sports car, but to see a near-stock VW engine was a sinking feeling caused by the sight. How about a flat 6 Poursh or a Corvair engine. The body was the big thing in this video; Toni figured any kit builders would develop their power plant.
Like all sportive looking cars (maybe with exception of Buggys in their natural habitat, dunes) on VW Beetle basis, this one goes down the drain as soon as one mentions HP, top speed & acceleration. So basically Cinderella after midnight…
Agreed - but - how much effort does it take to double the horsepower of a VW engine in 2024? Bigger jugs, longer crank, a blower or turbo and you have a significant amount of power out back. Far more than the brakes or suspension could handle. How fast does it need to accelerate to justify the effort? If it could go 0-60 in 8 seconds, would that be a reasonable pace? I think it would.
Terrible design and construction, with a rear engine and rear wheel drive from the catastrophic VW Beetle! So far from a "masterpiece" that you can get!

What a beauty...respect for the designer.
Looks very nice and sometimes that is all you need

Nice car!
Very nice lines, I must say. Would have liked one when I was younger so as to be able to get in and out of it with some grace.
I like it.
Looks like former EastGermany-Sportscar Wartburg Melkus 1000 RS, built from 1969 - 79

Looks very like the De Tomaso Vallelunga !
0 to 62 MPH in only 18 seconds??? 🥳 I’m fairly certain that a diesel powered city bus can get moving quicker. 🤣 Way to go, Brazil!!!
💪🏻⚡️🇧🇷
Corvette front end. Mustang Fastback rear end and Beetle in the middle.
And an interior smelling like a TVR. 🤔😲 😅🤣😂

I'm in love with the looks of this car. It would be the perfect skin for a DF Goblin chassis.
I can see it being a fun car,,if u fit in it
Se vc gostou desse, veja agora o VW SP2. Vc vai se surpreender também.
Such a great looking car on such a horrible chassis!
une replique sur chassis porsche 914 ferais une jolis voiture
FFFFFFolkswagen, not Wholkswagen, FFS. Lovely car!
A masterpiece? Not even close!
It needed a bigger engine.
Ive done over 130 mph in a Kharmann Ghia with a 2110 in her

I have to admit, that I do not understand what you mean by a LONGER crank. After all Beetle has a 4 cylinder flat twin…
And by the way, I am not intonrestomods at all.
Looks can be deceiving… could have been a winner with a better engine… 0-60 in 17 seconds? Seriously?
0-62 in 17 seconds? That's slow
Yep, it’s a vw beetle with a fancy body kit.
@ a sports car that's doesnt go fast
Every car in Brasil at the time was slow, even the Ford Maverick (V8, 5.0l) and Chevy Opala (inline 6, 4.1l) do the 0 to 100km/h in more than 11sec
@@fmac6441 that's cause the Ford Maverick is designed for fuel efficiency, not speed
That’s not even “modest” performance even for its time.

Catastrophic ?
