Don't forget about "Age of Chivalry: Hegemony" mod, perhaps one of the best Age of Empires II mods ever made. It's a mod focusing on Medieval (Western) European factions. Its influence can be seen in Age of Empires II Definitive Edition.. for example the Genoese Crossbowman unit, Heavy Pikemen (called Scaerwetter in Age of Chivalry), Kipchak, and both Bohemian & Burgundian factions.

Hey Robby, really like this build and its history. Personally I hope something like the Bahmani Sultanate is added as a variant civilization for the Delhi Sultanate in Age IV because much of this build would translate surprisingly well into that (with some additions like the Malik e Maidan and some merchant unit and the bara ghazi toph cannon found at gulbarga fort which could act like a long distance culverin). I am questioning the authenticity of that giant canon though so if you know more about it please tell me. Also speaking of gunpowder can you recommend any sources I can read about the Mughals putting bombards or cannons on top of elephants? If you even find this comment that’s awesome because I know it’s been a few months and I’ve since watched this video several times now.

I wonder if the Irish, Scots and Britons should get a regional upgrade to the Town Center to the Ringfort a round fortified settlement that acts as a cheaper but weaker version of the castle but can only train military units if the require military building has been built. They can also still serve as the Town Center role as a drop off point and support the population. This serves both as an early game defensive deterrent to raiders but at the cost of potentially slowing down your economy booming and in the later game a relatively cheap expansion for resource exploitation and forward military base where.

I would love to see "The Lords of Isles" which would be the English(More of ,the Anglo-Saxson id we do the conquest split ) Welsh. Scots , Irish and maybe the Angevins(More of Briton remake post conquest) or perhaps bring in the Danes or other norse type that as a British Isle feel

I think the Elm Bowman could be renamed to the Saethwyr which is literally the word for archer in welsh

As someone that's been watching your stuff since I think ~400 subs, I've got to say more than anything else, you've got to enjoy it. It's an (artistic) hobby, and I've been there before. Writer's block and passion burnout is a very real thing. And sometimes the best medicine is reseting (aka breaks) Do whatever you think is best for your personal life. I'll still be enjoying your stuff whenever you put it out.

Hrrmmmmm..... I'm only here to ramble about civ campaign appearances so as long as you have a civ or set of a couple of civs to discuss, I have something to ramble about. Honestly, I don't mind you trying something new, but I do hope it still focuses on AoE2 civs more than the rest.

Maintaining great quality on a consistent basis and a regular schedule is incredibly hard, and you did very well in that regard last year. Time is incredibly valuable and should definitely be spent on things you enjoy and see value in. If it gets too much, there is no shame in toning it down a bit and thinking about what's most important to you. Some of us waited 6 months for you last time, so 1-2 videos a month is still way better compared to that haha. I'll admit that time is equally a hindrance as a viewer. The weekly uploads are great, but they also make it harder to watch everything and leave long and well-thought-out comments on every one of them. I had to skip some stuff or didn't comment match simply because I also lacked the time for all of it. All that said, don't be too hard on yourself with the builds, I think the last couple ones all were pretty good. January is generally a bad month for content creators because everyone is busy after the holidays and I can imagine that there might be a bit of a fatigue towards the builds. That doesn't necessarily have anything to do with their quality, but we had like 30 this past year, and the novelty and interest wears off a bit after some time. The reduced schedule might actually help in that regard, making them more exciting and letting them breathe for a moment again. Finally, streams sound like fun, and are always a great way to engage with the community, so that might be a good way forward to reduce some of the load going in each video. The most important thing is to have fun and stay healthy, everything else will align itself in one way or another, stay safe buddy!

And as for the views, remember that the algorithm is really an insidious part of why many people don’t get the views they deserve. So, even quality content like yours will get neglected in terms of views, not because of poor quality but because of the algorithm. Take the time you need. You’re not under any obligation to do anything for us and you deserve more than what you’re being given. Thanks for all the lore and insight over the years!

Ragusans would most likely be called dalmatians, as that was their ethnicity & language

It's a great mod, but there is no way they would choose it over the Forgotten Empires as the official dlc for the game. It changes way too much from the base game compared to the Forgotten Empires, which basically just adds a few civs and some new mechanics that are not too invasive or complex. I always felt like the Forgotten Empires mod was the closest we ever got to an official DLC for AoE2 back in the days before HD so it really makes sense.

Actually i love this build and that conscript idea is amasing, i would love to have that on!! Bring on the Song & the Ming too!!
