@TuTosRARE Although my main field of research is Mesoamerica, I would love to help with South America as well. I have a lot of sources on it, I just haven't read all of them yet...
South America is planned for future! I've met a couple people who are reasonably knowledgeable about it, and I have a decent game plan for how to approach it. Can't promise it will be next, but it will likely be soonish!
YES, you know how much i love Meso civs and finally this seems the definitive Meso Expansion, hope the AoE 2 actual devs will take this your video into a serious account!!! ❤Lovely Robby! ❤
I think mayans and aztecs should get access to slingers. I dont know why its not yet changed sinced the slinger's introduction in 2013. I would love to see that change and especially losing access to crossbow because these civs never before got access to this weapon.
Yeah but by that logic they should also lose mangonels, scorpions, rams, trebs, siege towers, petards, fire galley, war galley, demos, heated shot, treadmill crane, chemistry, siege engineers, sappers, wheelbarrow, sanctity, block printing, bowsaw, coinage, caravan, stone gates, and all melee blacksmith techs. So instead of asking for a completely reworked alternate tech tree (Starcraft style?), I like to imagine they are from an "alternate history" where there was "some" contact between American and European/Asian civilizations before the arrival of the Spanish, so there would have been some technology transfer to the Americas explaining the use of siege weaponry, metal, etc.
Nice to see my homies in the thumbnail! Thanks for this theorycraft/rework! Here's some of my thoughts. Basically my only gripes are with the Purepechas. I don't think they'd fit into the Nahua architectural style. Their buildings' walls often had steeper angles than the central valley cultures, with a higher number of shorter slopes, using smaller stones laid in way that seemed to yield a generally smooth surface but not as smooth as Maya or Mixtec architecture, and they were more prone to use rounded forms and less symmetrical buildings than the other cultures. Good examples are of course Tzintzuntzan, Ihuatzio, Tingambato, etc. Also, I don't really like that castle very much, it looks waaay too European. I think Purepecha fortifications were just a walled off emplacement with maybe straight or curved sides, filled with dirt to have an elevated platform to shoot from, and maybe a steep staircase on one side that they would barricade during wartime. And they used to be wide rather than tall. I don't even know if they'd have a roofed structure on top but maybe they did. Even colonial forts never looked quite like that, those tended to be square and later on they would be superseded by renaissance style fortresses. Also small gripe, those Purepecha dudes in the concept art seem a wee too tall. Having been to rural Michoacan, I doubt their warriors were towering and chiseled looking guys, but they did make up for that in craftiness.
I would change Zapotecs teambonus to a civ bonus instead, but they can research ALL castle age techs one age earlier - every university castle (feudal) tech gives 150 gold, imperial (castle) 250 gold. Their team bonus could be every civ get random university tech when university is first built.
I'll wait with excitement, was always a fan of the Incas for having the only real pikeman unit in the game, and what can I say, I'm a sucker for dense infantry formations.
No way to know for sure, but the official Romans build had some uncanny similarities to my own! Definitely not taking credit for it, but it was pretty funny
Excellent work is all have to say about this. Now, I feel the next most logical region to address would be south america, maybe working with the adjacent civs to Incas will make more sense.
I am wondering, for purépechas, if the team bonus is, if get allied with european civs (spain mostly), can get access to something, example xolotl warrior or gunners but without upgrades: no chemistry, no horse armor, etc. For the topic it was the unique civ joined to spain and they helped for destroy chichimecs. The rest of info and unique unit is really good. I would liked the Tzintzun use an axe, because purépechas used copper axes as weapons.
Will you be doing Macedonians speculation and civs related to Alexander's conquest? Since it has been hinted that it will be the next age of chronicles expansion.
They will have to be unique compares to the other to be broken down like Dynasties of India did. Should be more like Mayan, Inca, Aztec and a fourth missing one, people are used to the simple names, are there enough differences? All meso civs get eagle warriors? Will cavalry buildings be replaced with a sacrificial temple? Will the monastery change? Will all meso civs get stone discount?
Hey, have you ever begun to mod the game? If so, have you tried to mod the unit sprite? I want to make new mod, can you tell me how to mod Unit and Building sprite? Thank you.
I think the big problem with this proposal os actually come up with new campaigns. No a lot of documented history exist about some of the civs you put on. Great effort, tho!
Completely disagree. Not only do you have to mass up 30 of them, but you also have to walk them close enough to the arbalists for the effect to take hold, and they have to stay there without somehow killing all of your guys before they arrive or while the aura is taking effect. It sounds scary in practice, but given how garbage the TK is because of its speed I seriously doubt this effect will be a massive problem, and if it is it's pretty easy to nerf
@@robbylava To me the 3 base pierce armor the scary part, in team game it can be too much (60 res), in 1v1 if you let them stack and have every tech its your misstake like goth.
As usual - wonderful work Robby! It's always great to help you out. Hope you feel better soon!
And obviously questions welcome!
Are south american civs on the works from you two? would love to see.

Another proposal would be the Tlaxcala civilization (Tlaxcaltecas) and a campaign before and after the Conquest of the Tenochtitlan.
good job!
Yay it's ready!!!!
Hello good sir.
I am sorry that you feel ill sir.
May you recover soon.
This would be a fire DLC.
Love the Flavour adds.
Thanks for saying so bud!
I hope the Age of Empires people end up hiring you.

ITS HERE
Speaking of architecture, why are the Inka still thrown in with mesoamerica? An Inka split/redesign might be interesting in the future.
Yeah, it's pretty ridiculous that they share an architecture set. Definitely on my list of things to do!

I hope the devs are watching your channel. have they previously? do you know if they actually implemented some of your suggestions previously?

There is a lot of documented history about the Purepecha and Mixtec, and possibly enough for a Zapotec and Chontal campaign
be'we gop is beyond broken. 20 sec and 40 piece of arbalest is gone, and hit and run not work, as meat shield. The effect good but scale too good.

Can you stop, we have way too many civs already
There is no stopping until every possible single area is filled with civs. I fail to see why we wouldn't need new civs anyway.
