(11:40) I love this idea, and i even would make it aveilable to every one! Farming should be an investment that is more efective in later ages when technology makes farming become faster. The hunting and the gathering should be way faster then farming in the dark age and still be faster in feudal. The game should give more importance to this. I would give this building (or one equivalent) to every nation. In this matter it probably would be called "Hunting Cabin" or something like that. To the building it self i would give 2 habilitys, 1st a small defence ability, beeing able to shoot long range arrows (1 arrow with slow rate of fire but big chunk of damage and 90-100% accuracy); and the 2nd is the ability of slowly over time this building being able of spawn huntables (wild animals) that can be hunted, i even would make those kind like the herdables that we "train" in the pen on AoE3 that are thinner and over time they grow to adults and give a lot more meet! So if you are in dire need you just slay them as soon as they spawn, if not you can have some "investment" for the future!! LOL 😂😂
P.S. By the way why predators dont give food in this game?! LOL they are thin but they have meat in them, make them give a litle bit of meat so we could take something from them.

And by the way, now that we talk about this, i would even add other building, the "Gatherers Hut". There is a thing that i never liked about the game, the number, the location and the veriaty of berry bushes and fruit trees aveilable on the maps. It is very very underwelming the aveilability and the total amount of them.. So poor that it really makes me wonder why it is like so..
I would bring a lot more variety of berry bushes and "wild" fruit trees with less food, 8for example 25 food for berrys and 50 for trees), with a slower rate of gathering for normal vilagers, but we could train in "Town Centers" and in the "Gatherers Hut" a specialized unit to gather those faster, the《Gatherer》(i dont know what else to call the guy lol im Portuguese, English is not my native language lol). There is a thing that i would implement too, the fruit trees and berry bushes being permanent, when you colect them you take only the fruits, so you take the food and the bush/tree stay to slowly grow food again. The "Gatherers Hut", when build near a group of berry bushes or wild trees, would slightly increase the gathering rate for normal Vilagers and give a big boost to Gatherers on that location, and would even give a small buff on the speed that wild trees/bushes regenerate food arround them, and like i proposed to《Yaranga》(or the "Hunting Cabin") it would slowly over time spawn new trees and berry bushes arrond it.
I even would bring "orchards" (AoE3) that you would be able to build and colect food from with a bit slower rate of generating food then farms but with no extra cost, so you plant 1 big orchard (only with 1 vilager per orchard) and it slowly will generate the food over time, and you would not have to replant it again. They should cost double the amount of wood to build then farms, but in the long run they will be a lot cheaper. These should only be buildable by the "Gatherers", and all kinds of villagers could work on them, but Gatheres would work twice as fast and get double the amount of food from them. But if you are in dire need of wood you could cut down the trees from them and colect the wood, but then you would have to build other one and it would take time to build and get food going again from that one. I would even give it a mechanism that the orchard would increase its efficiency over time so that it generats more food over time. New trees would give less fruits then older ones, just like in real world! Orchards would only be aveilable in Castle Age and its building time should be quite long (at least double the time of a farm) after it is build, the food production for the first 3/5min should be very small, but progressively increases its the food production and after that it would gain pace and increase its capacity of providing food. The "Orchard", should not be able to give more food then farms, even when a Gatherer is working on it. The advantage from the orchards should be the cost (or the lack of it!), not the food production.

(13:20) About that one.... lol... Yes please! Of curse, but i wouldnt give the Royal Forester that ability LOL I'd rather keep the spawn ability for the «Hunting Cabin» (lol i could not expect that you just after a minute or so sugested this one =P) But this is an excelent idea!! This unit in par with the "Gatherer" should be the early eco-units. both shoud be trainable in the TC and then the "Huntsman" could also be trained at the "Hunting Cabin", and the "Gatherer" in the "Gatherers Hut". Both should be stronger villagers, the "Huntsman" a stronger ranged villager, and the "Gatherer" a stronger melee fighter villager, armed with an axe, both should be able to repel early raids.
By the way if it is too much we can combine both buildings and have only one with all the features i said before. I rather have both but i hunderstand. And it would be perfectly fine to combine both buildings, but it needs to keep all the features from both buildings, but keep both units, i like to have unit options. In my opinion in dark age the main diference betwin those two types of vilagers and their military counterparts, should not be the damage that they do with each atack. But rather their armour, their HP, and the speed that military and villager units atack. In Dark Age "Huntsman" and "Gatherer" should have 33% less HP, should have no armour of any type, and should hit 33% less often then "Man-at-arms" and "Archers". On the matter of more villager kinds of units there is one that should be in the game too, "Miners"!! Castle Age its a good age to make them aveilable to train in TC and they could build the "Mine Shaft" (or other building) that provides twice the amount of gold/stone colected from regular surfice mines. And after the "Miners" colect all the stone or gold from the surfice, the "Miners" could continue to work in the "Mine Shaft" and mine Gold and Stone from the underground having a continuous but reduced tricle of Gold and Stone.

I assume I'm not the only one who, when they hear themselves in a video, thinks "is that what I sound like", because this is the first time I've appeared on TH-cam in a video outside of mentions.

It's definitely a weird feeling at first. But if you've listened to hundreds of hours of yourself like I have at this point then you get used to it hehehe

Still sad I couldn't be there for the round up, but I'm not sure I'd have had that much to add you didn't figure out by conjecture. Short version: I started off trying to figure out what region might have a gunpowder civ, and then got stuck on China. I'd at least argue that they fit the Build and Battle parts of the tagline.

I absolutely love aoe3. If they made it on the aoe2 engine it would be my favorite aoe game

Feel the need to point out, scouts carrying huntables is not exclusive to the Rus in AoE4 but the Rus do gain gold from "fur trade" for every deer/wolf/boar they kill

      Oh interesting! I don't follow AOE4, but that's a cool mechanic.
