Let's see what happens! - 1998 WoodMizer LT40 Super Hydraulic Sawmill Project - PT.3
มุมมอง 856ปีที่แล้ว
I am attempting to get this portable sawmill back into the milling business. It is going to require A LOT of work but Im hopeful to get it back up and running. I have been wanting to use one of these for awhile so i can get some lumber cut for projects around the house. This thing is a beast! - ENJOY!!!

Do NOT neglect maintenance on your riding mower! - John Deere L100 Series
มุมมอง 1.5Kปีที่แล้ว
I have some overdue needed service on my riding mower. The transmission drive belt (I am amazed its still on there), the deck lift point broke off and there is a large hole in the deck, some never greased spindle fittings and deck pulleys that well, you'll see.....Hopefully I can get all these items repaired and get the blades turning again. Enjoy!
First attempt at repairing - 99 Suzuki Quad Runner 500 - w/vacuum actuated fuel petcock.
มุมมอง 10Kปีที่แล้ว
I'm trying to help a coworker get his ATV running that was inoperable at purchase and has already been to one other facility for repair. This is my first ever Suzuki repair and it has a very "unique" fuel petcock valve and furry friend that has taken up residence. Anyway, hope you enjoy!
MECHANICAL ADVANTAGE FOR THE WIN!! Using Harbor Freight snatch blocks to remove a large tree stump
มุมมอง 76Kปีที่แล้ว
Using pulleys / snatch blocks to help me remove a tree stump in order to clear an area for a future sawmill. Its crazy how much more pulling power you get by just adding these pulleys. I try a few different variations from single line straight pull, 2:1, 3:1, and 4:1.

    Can the petcock flood the engine crankcase? Mine is filling up with gas some how.

    • @straightcutgeerz
      @straightcutgeerz หลายเดือนก่อน

      Technically if everything else is operating properly and the petcock is not shutting fuel flow off then you shouldn't really notice a problem...if you are getting fuel in the crankcase then you may want to check the float valve and seat, sounds like that valve is not sealing off which should stop fuel from entering the carburetor.....if the petcock is messed up it could be flowing fuel to the carb when it shouldn't be or the petcock is on the wrong setting but still the float valve should stop it once the carb bowl is full...

    Maybe next time, use the tractor to scrape, dig, and remove the dirt? Reduce the weight about a ton, literally, then try moving it. A few hours to do the job correctly, can save you time, equipment repairs (more time and money), and headaches. Sometimes slowing down a bit can speed you up a lot more.

    I've run 2 separate 271s and both haf oiler issues. The bar plugs constantly. In think it's the new "light bar/chain" that comes with the saw. It's not the same as the original professional sized gear

    Paul Short makes a lot of kubota mods and I have a bunch. Some of his stuff actually works on different brands, too. I know for a fact that his rops perch light brackets will work. The rops is exact same size. You could vall Kathy and she can trll exactly what may or may not work. I used to have the same tractor you have there, but my "ex-wife" made sure I couldn't keep her. I miss her so bad.😢 My tractor and not my ex. Lol. Bxpanded and a gew other companies make mods for these baby tractor. Go check out his channel. Over the years, he's even made a video or 2 just for me. One is called "Basic Soldering" made about 8 years ago. They are 2 of the best people you could ever meet.

    The oil is coming out out the back hole in your test, but I think you will get a different result with the chain installed. The moving chain will pick up any oil before it can leak out.

    Since this was awhile ago, you probably found out already that greasing the snatchblock just attracts and then retains dirt and grit in there, defeating the purpose.

    First step before your wheel comes off should be breaking the torque on the axle nut.

    • @ericankney5957
      @ericankney5957 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Completely disagree on this particular car. That nut doesn't turn with the tire, it's pinching the inner race to the car, and the outer race should move freely around it. I will caveat that to say as a beat practice, I always apply force to the breaker bar pushing towards the ground, else spin it off with an air tool and it won't matter anyway. Safety wise there may be an advantage to breaking it on the ground so you don't tip the thing off the jack by applying horizontal force to the whole car if you have the breaker pointed the wrong way though, so, maybe.....

    Take notice of his anchor point at the hook end of the cable. For those that don't know, don't EVER put a hook around a cable. It creates a stress point that WILL fail. Straight line pull through the termination swage only.

    Mechanical advantage is around us everywhere, but for the most part failed to be noticed or taken for granted. Doubtful that you could even point out every process in your video that makes use of mechanical advantage. But your video needs to start out with a lengthy and In depth legal disclaimer. There’s almost as many not recommended practices as there are mechanical advantages in the video. I dare not to list them all. But I can not be silent about the most obvious issue. Wirerope and chains are not designed to be shock loaded like that. Not only the dangers of it, there is no way to deny the damage you have cause to your equipment. How hypocritical can one be by taking the time to grease their snatch block, then follow up with the shock loading of their wirerope? It makes about as much sense as showing the advantages of snatch blocks and mechanical advantage but prove to the world the disadvantages out weigh the advantages in your mind. That’s what you did, when you didn’t want to take the time to set up the system that you had so highly praised. You opted to look like a fool. What better example could there be for not practicing what your preaching?
