Dang man that’s actually crazy..I want to get a similar size machine probably John Deere for a stump grinding business. That setup looks perfect with the hoe and the grapple..
Did you happen to change the joystick pattern by switching the hydraulic lines by chance?…because the pressure relief valve for the boom circuit is different from the stick circuit and if you just switch the lines then the relief valve is set too high for the stick cylinder and it will bend!…you have to switch the pattern by switching the spool valves!…
Good to know!....I had not made any changes to the machine at that time, come to find out, mf campaigned several of those cylinders in the cb65 for the same issues...the new cylinder ram is bigger and no issues since..
Wow that's crazy. Yeh, that's a warranty fix for sure...relief valve should kick in way before a piston rod gives out. I see you got one of them electric grapples, eh.
Yes actually they had a campaign to replace those cylinders.... I actually like the electric grapple pretty good it's probably not as strong as a hydraulic but it does what I needed to do, anything much easier install..
Its for the electric grapple attachment. No hydraulics to run, just power and ground to the battery and the rocker switch you see on the stick. I purchased it when i got the tractor. Its from "Work Saver", i touch on it a little in the "update" video but you can find all kinds of videos on them.
The dealer ended up replacing the cylinder and the new cylinder had a bigger diameter ram than what it was originally.... Turns out Massey Ferguson had a campaign to replace this cylinder...
Can't recall right off, I just had them include it when I financed the tractor...I got it from the Massey dealer....the brand is worksaver....if you look on youtube you will find a video by Tony's Tractor Adventure, it will give you some more info.
Nobody did anything dumb or abused it....the supplier changed the ram size, and got caught...it is a recall problem..even if the guy did something stupid...as already noted....the PR valve would have prevented it from happening....just a bunch of them out there that got passed the inspection or testing process

I wonder if this is more likely to happen if the secondary return hose/connector is not hooked up correctly?
I don't believe so ..since replacing the cylinder it has worked flawless....I think the whole issue was wrong size cylinder..

Is that a 3rd valve on joystick? Did you add it and where did you get it and any special fittings you had to get. Appreciate any help

It is a known issue and they have an open campaign to correct it....
