We've completed our first passage and we're back online! The first video after our unplanned hiatus is a Q&A where we tackle some of the more technical questions that viewers have left us in the comments. We appreciate the serious consideration that you guys give the project and we love answering these type of questions, so keep them coming! Enjoy the video and please like and subscribe to foll...
Sketch To Sea: Initial Lighting Walkthrough
มุมมอง 7K7 หลายเดือนก่อน
Going back in time a bit in this video to the first time I was able to walk through the boat at night. This is a very important part of the construction process. Since this initial look we have been able to set scenes and have toned down all the lighting to the point where it draws half the amount of electricity that it initially did. Check it out!
Sketch To Sea: General Progress Update
มุมมอง 8K8 หลายเดือนก่อน
A short one for you this week, but we wanted to make sure there was an update as to what's happening with the boat now. A lot is going on in China, progress is being made, but we are off the boat and on the move again. Tune in to find out what's happening.
Sketch To Sea: Power Management and CZone
มุมมอง 4.4K8 หลายเดือนก่อน
In this video I continue the discussion with Chris about the solar panel setup of the vessel, why we should or should not automate our energy systems, and then take you on a tour of how we have initially set up the iPads in the guest rooms to manage the lighting onboard.
Sketch To Sea: Energy Consumption and Production
มุมมอง 11K8 หลายเดือนก่อน
In this video Chris Staub is back to discuss all aspects of power management onboard, including both the production and the consumption. We identify all the big power consumers and how fast we can recharge our battery bank. There's a lot to consider when running the systems on a boat like this and we are happy to give you an insight into the process.
Sketch To Sea: Visa Run
มุมมอง 3.8K8 หลายเดือนก่อน
Stepping away from our traditional content, this week's video shares a bit more of our Chinese experience. Part of doing business in China is maintaining your Visa status. We realized a bit late that I was coming to the end of my 60-day window and needed to leave China and reset my stay. Normally this would be a quick, same-day turnaround but we took advantage of the national holiday and the fa...

Sketch To Sea: Tender and Jet Ski Operations
มุมมอง 6K9 หลายเดือนก่อน
Sea trials are continuing for HH8801 and we are testing new systems every day. In this video I take you through the process of launching and retrieving our tender and jet ski. A lot of engineering went into this process and we are pretty happy with the result.
Sketch To Sea: Sea trials day 1-3 for HH8801
มุมมอง 33K9 หลายเดือนก่อน
We're on the move! It feels pretty surreal but we have made it out of the HH marina and the process of sea trials has begun. Follow along as we fire up the engines, navigate out of the channel and test the responsiveness of the vessel in the open (well, almost open) ocean. Driving the boat for the first time is a huge achievement and I'm looking forward to sharing it with you all. *And yes, I k...

wow, beautiful
6 month waiting for the new video. Oh, so long. Hope you are ok and enjoying your life
No more updates?
i am searching teacher like you ... thank Sir
Is it cleanly made in China ? About the style I do not ask because it is a matter of taste.
Hey there, I'd love to see your beautiful boat on the water. Do you have any plans to make more videos now that the build is complete? (nudge nudge) C'mon, all the cool kids are doin it!
Stunning
Are you able to add other power generation like windmills?
Unbelievable ❤ vessel.
I'd love to see your amazing boat one time, if you'd ever come near the Netherlands (e.g. Amsterdam harbour). Don't hesitate letting me know! I'm now planning a visit to another Catamaran that is docked there, but yours is exceptional...
OMG are we going to see you “fly a Hull”??? ❤️❤️❤️
Beautfil millwork! What kind of wood is used for the paneling of the doors and cabinets?
Great video, we love you and your new home and wish you all the best.... hope things are going well and hopefully we'll get to see you again soon.... God bless
Thank you for the comment, just sat down to start editing another video.
Yay! I'm super excited 🎉❤
it's only me or the stakes are overcooked with the grill ?
They were all temp checked after the sous vide, and then again after the grill. Never went over 130F which is med rare...
Thought hh builds performance cats and not slow floating resorts. Who thinks 10 in 14 true is fast, never sailed a real performance cat.
Interesting comment. We have also done 19knts in 23. Would you consider this performance?
@@sketchtosea3750 ty for reply. I sailed with my cat, 76ft streamline marine, cruisingweight 15 tons loaded, rarely below windspeed. And thats 20 years ago. Nowadays there are even few production cats which do that easily and i would call performance cats. But of course they are not high volume cats as yours. Cant have it all 😁
This is the most beautiful woodwork I've ever seen on a boat. Could you possibly share the type of wood used? I'm sure I couldn't afford it, but I'm curious as an amateur woodworker!
It is crotched mahogany, and then the clear panels are quarter sawn mahogany.
@@sketchtosea3750 Thanks!
Hope everyone's doing well and boat too. No new videos so I'm assuming sea trials are done and you are taking a long voyage.
Thank you for your comment. We have travelled about 3700 miles as of now. As i write this we are leaving indonesia and on our way back to singapore.
Very much enjoyed the video. I am a huge fan of sous vide. It would make sense to prepare some great dinners using that method for long trips so no matter the sea state you can still eat well. Keep the videos coming please.
The other 2 most important kitchen gadgets are a Thermomix, and a slow cooker.
Fascinating. Thanks for sharing your journey.
Found you via @gonewiththewynns
is that brazilian cherrywood? great looking wood is the absolute right choice well done BRAVO!!!! I love it.
Speechless
Beautiful craft! And fantastic detailed videos!! Thought: Would it be possible to relocate the shore power plug slightly up and to the left, inside the recessed area above the steps. (@ 1:17 ). This would clear the stairs & aesthetic. May not be feasible, but worth a mention on a vessel of this caliber.
I tend to dislike videos of people showing off their idols of wealth, but there's just something wholesome about this grown man grinning like a kid at christmas at the helm of his boat.
Thank you for the comment, and understanding the purpose of the channel. That moment was 5 years in the making.
Very nice boat. Sad that it was build in china.
How exquisite and beautiful 🤩 ❤
More sailing vids pls!
Please upload more videos 😊
It seems like the engineer is a little concerned about the structure under extreme loads.
Well, I’m definitely a poor after watching this video.
Fascinating. I really like the screen where you see a rendering of the boat with light icons. I'd like to do that with my house. How much diesel do you actually burn to run the gen sets for their 2 or 3 hour daily charge cycle?
I love cooking. My wife plans and provisions and I am the bistro chef. It is a great part of life. I can't imagine all these men who sit around and think their female partner should do all the cooking. They miss out on life's most basic pleasure. Preparing, sharing and enjoying well prepared food.
Well said, and thank you for the comment. I agree, we have been without a chef for just over a month now, so I have been responsible for cooking for crew and ourselves. We do all eat the same meals.... It takes a lot of time to plan and provision and make sure you use the food and theleftovers to minimize waste.
Yummy!
It was!
Congratulations and that is such a Beautiful boat, was the temporary bridge there when you headed out of the channel?
Yes, it was under construction and one of the main reasons we had to have the yacht in the shipping channel in china for so long. I am not sure what they will do in the future when they build anything bigger than a 66.
This is the Roll Royce of boat!
Thank you for the comment. That is a fair description as well.
The wood! Oh my! And the resin designs on tables...really spectacular! Everything is gorgeous!
Thank you so much!
I am gonna make those potatoes later this week, those look yummy. Thanx for sharing
Hope you enjoy
Beautiful CAT!! I just love the gorgeous interior and woodwork. But the exterior design and color choices are just as stunning. Inside and out this is absolutely one gorgeous CAT. Someone has exceptionally good taste. It’s one of those things that you may not be able to do it yourself, but you know it when you see it. I hope to see more of your videos as you go on adventures in this beauty.
Thank you so much!
É um barco muito bonito e crazy... só pra rico
A beautiful boat. Often mega yachts are overdone with gold trim, decor that belongs in Trump bad taste tower. However, this is pure class. Looks to be environmental with a performance sail fit out, solar panels. Again, beautiful
Thank you for the comment.
That galley is massive it does not even seem you are in a boat.
Thank you for the comment. When you think of the expectation of the meals that this is supposed to provide, it would feel a little undersized. Fully occupied, it need to put out a minimum of 42 full meals per day.
TAIWAN #1 CHINA #2
Will you be putting out a video about your initial passage from China to Japan? Very interested to hear how the boat (and crew) handled rough weather.
Thank you for the comment. Yes, that is the intent. I don't have a lot of footage as we were only 4 on the vessel and it turned into a 7 day passage.
I was cooking my dinner while watching you cook your crew dinner. Mines no where near as glamorous, but a good video for sure.
Thank you for the comment.
If you don’t mind me asking what do you do for a living to be so wealthy & Successful?
Well youtub at it again. They unsubscribed me. Glad I looked only missed three episodes. Catch up time. Lol
Thank you for the sub!
A lovely meal. What wine did you choose to go with the steaks?
That is a good question. Normally I would have paired it properly, but we were down to the last few bottles on board and the others were gifts to save for special occasions.
So nice to see you finally using your kitchen! (galley), I love cooking too!🤩
Thank you for the comment, it does flow really well.
The rest of the crew has been sent off. The 2 played big trick on others. More for them lol. They knew that Sean is a chef others not so much. Thanks for your time editing and-recording. Keep being blessed and showing others humble.
More cooking! Thanks for the recipes. Really enjoyable.
Thank you for the comment.
