    I think any video you do will be well received. I think your theme is world travel and adventure so Japan videos are all good. As far as the approvals to finish and leave... Any large government organization is slower than anyone would hope for. Just do what they ask for and then make a plan. Then double it. I am sure you had plans to have the boat somewhere else for Christmas but oh well maybe next year. One thing for sure is that you are getting a grand yacht. Maybe you can show off your new boat at the Galapagos boat show! :)

      That video was not meant as a deterrent just a bit of insight as to what we are going through. We are the first vessel to sail out of China post COVID and all of the rules have changed and things have become more difficult as they have many places in the world. HH has quite a few boats that they have "shipped" to europe and the US in the last months but navigating a sail out is a little different.

      Thank you for giving me the time for the reply. i have always weighed up spending my money in china with the way the government is. dont get me wrong, im a kiwi from wellington as well and enjoy seeing the fellow kiwi's and really love the HH vessels. Past chinese buisness interactions have REALLY muddied the water. having a third party speak on things has really woken me up to reality. i hope to see Crazy Love in the Caribbean crusing in the near future.

    This is turning into the typical Chinese story that all of us who have done business with China know already. The boat may look good but does history show that Chinese projects, especially new tech, usually fail or have on going repair issue all their life. Over 200 punch items?? Sounds about right for a boat built there. Compare that to a Gunboat or Outremer. When they are delivered the punchlist is infinitely small. Imagine spending what you did here on this boat and now you have hoops to jump through to get out of the country! This is why after numerous interviews I held with large and famous Chinese contractors for a African project I rejected every bid as incomplete and full of product substitutions we would not ever consider. BEWARE

    • @HHCatamarans
      @HHCatamarans 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Your comments are entirely untrue and not based on fact. We have it on good authority from owners/crew/vendors/etc. that our boats actually have fewer issues than many comparable builds. If you were to ask Sean, he would tell you that many of the items on the list were nicks in the paint or joinery or simple things of that nature. None of the issues have much to do with where the boat was built, but rather the complexity of the project and the fact that it was built by hand by hundreds of individuals over several years. Our QC department is meticulous and we feel confident that Crazy Love will be about as close to perfect as possible leaving the yard. Sean and Jamie have been great partners and we are happy to have made it to the finish line with happy customers on such a HUGE project.

    And how are you going to sail that out of China and where are you going? I trust you have a skilled paid crew coming aboard as east and south of you require a level of seamanship you likely do not posses? If you are in Chinese coast waters in your trip you can expect to be boarded often.

      Hi Douglas, we hope this finds you well. We have noticed your comments on a number of videos and until now haven’t really felt they warranted a response. It has become a bit concerning to us though that you seem to take the things we say any put an extremely negative spin on them and that you’ve begun propagating some misinformation about us and our build.
      First, we would like to say that absolutely nothing about this boat was built on a whim. Years of our research and countless hours of planning have gone into this on the part of world-class naval architects and engineers. Every aspect of it has been thought out and thought out again, so your concerns about weight, balance, safety, and where we can or cannot sail are completely unfounded. We would also like to note that HH never offered any off-brand supplies or product substitutions, nor would we have accepted them. Everything on our boat is from reputable suppliers in the industry.
      Second, HH ranks among the top sailboat builders in the world, their boat of the year awards among others, speak to this. As the team from HH mentioned in their comment, their QC team is meticulous. The length of our punch list in no way surprised us as it was comparable to the punch lists from other outstanding builders we have been fortunate to work with on projects in the past. When you have a QC team that goes through things with a fine-toothed comb you end up with quite a long list but most of these items just required a small touch up or revision. Once established, our list shrank exponentially each day. Perhaps you weren’t lucky enough to work with such a thorough team on your past projects?
      In regards to building a project in China, it absolutely was difficult to navigate at times, but we have no doubt that the same could be said for any country we chose to work in where we were unfamiliar with the language and customs/policy. We have lived in the Caribbean for 9 years and there are still processes that are difficult to execute because of local laws. We would be remiss to make sweeping statements about a country and its people based on this one project, or ever frankly.
      Finally, just as we don’t know you, you don’t know us. We have chosen to put a very small segment of our lives on the internet in order mainly to document this process for ourselves, our friends and family, but also others who may be interested in building a boat of any scale but not sure where to start. While we have been overwhelmed by the support, we do understand that there will be critics and that’s okay. What’s not okay is to make false statements about our unsafe choices, our inexperience and lack of ability and whether or not we are cut out for life on a boat when you don’t know us, our backgrounds, or what we are going through behind the scenes. Concern or constructive criticism is one thing, put downs and spreading misinformation are another. We welcome questions and conversation and are happy for you to follow along if this is how you’d like to proceed but would ask that you kindly unfollow otherwise.
      All the best, Sean and Jamie

      @DouglasArringtonMusic 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      This is your first and only experience in China and managing the build as you have is probably the only way to ensure quality. Had you not done that the boat would be as they want it not how you want it. This is comming from years of experience and trips to China. However there are decades of boat failures from Chinese builders. That's the simple truth, so buyer beware. My best wishes to you and yours that this works out for you in the long run, but I've got my doubts.

    Not surprised at the length of the to-do list given the immense complexity of your yacht. Any large, totally custom project like yours inevitably requires months of de-bugging and tweaking to bring up to acceptable standards. The difficulty of extricating the yacht from China also doesn't surprise me given the intense security systems in China and the current mistrust between China and western governments. I look forward to the video of the departure and voyage to Japan.

The Wynnes who also are having HH build them a CAT , did a video tour of the City for their fans. Gorgeous city, with a beautiful Central Park that is used a lot. Yes, the city of Xiamen is beautiful and clean, this is where we lived while staying in China as well.
      And while we understand the harsh take on China, as when politics are involved things can get heated, we won't ever share political views on our channel, that's not what we're here for nor are we educated enough on these matters to do so. We will say that we found certain processes frustrating while living there but on the whole the people we met and places we were lucky enough to experience were wonderful. Ideas and opinions that we have seen perpetuated about China in the Western media aren't painting the whole picture.
