The period of time we've been waiting for a new episode could be described as expansive.
Drummer is one of, if not my number 1, favorite sci-fi characters. I got this game only because it was her story.
Really interesting to hear most of season 5 was filmed when the decision was made, I felt like the timing and way Alex was killed off seemed pretty natural, especially considering how unplanned it was. In the first few seasons Alex felt indispensable, but his character became less sympathetic gradually, and in season 5 it felt like other characters were given more to do so he was less needed. If I hadn't heard about the real life reasons for killing off his character, I probably wouldn't have even guessed it wasn't planned. Also huge credit to the cast and crew for how that situation was handled and the support that was given for the women who came forward.
To me, there are two types of superhero fans: those like Wes, who like Superman, and those like Ty, who love Spider-Man. When I was a kid, I loved Batman (because I was on Ty’s team), since he didn’t have any superpowers. But then I realized the guy was a millionaire with his entire life sorted out, spending his days between Alfred’s handjobs. Then I discovered Spider-Man, and click. He has superpowers but is still a regular guy. He has a girlfriend, university exams, a job (no conveniently deceased millionaire parents for him), and he has to juggle all these things in his life, just like everyone else. So, yeah, I’m totally with Ty on this one.
Really surprise that no one talks about one of the Marco’s trait which is being a car without reverse. Like, every time something goes wrong, ‘it was always his plan’.
It isn't difficult to make a good adaptation of a game. Not at all, if the film makers actually give a fuck about the source material. The reason the list of utter crap game based movies is so long is because studios only saw them as a cash cow. A popular game already has an audience that will be interested in the film based on title alone, so knowing that they've already got some butts in the seats, but not that many, they can make a low-budget piece of shit and profit off it. One director has been infamous for doing this with video game titles, Uwe Boll. The Nostalgia Critic explains this in his reviews of all of Boll's utter shit movies. You don't even need a large budget to make a good game movie. One of my favorite films is a very low budget, independent film based on Dungeons and Dragons called "The Gamers: Dorkness Rising".
I thought the sudden sound effects were being used as an example of ill-advised effects.
Hey missing the podcast, hope y’all be back soon. I’ve just seen Alien:Romulus and immediately wanted to know how y’all enjoyed it.
Did the guy in the right even watch the movie? Lmao
I was born on 84 and to me this movie was about get your life better and don’t lose the coolness on the way. I’m not saying I skate or learn the electric guitar just for this movie, I mean…
When is the next Expanse coming out?
I love both the movie and the book. In a way, it feels like a castaway story, not too different from Robinson Crusoe.
Good stories let you live lives that would otherwise be impossible. We all know what it feels like to be in prison in the ’60s, or how it feels to be at 0.3g in the galley of your legitimate salvage ship.
Point of order: That is not a Catholic Schoolgirl outfit, it's a Japanese School Uniform for Girls ha ha. but otherwise, fantastic commentary on a great movie. ...I say movie because 1 and 2 are one movie to me.
Fans aren't looked at as nerds by the whole of society, but they are looked down upon by hollywood, just look at Star Wars and some of the things that were said about the fans (like me) that disagreed with the sequel trilogy and The Acolyte... people in Hollywood forget that they work for us (like you said) ...they're going to learn though. Again, just look at Star Wars. The group they're catering to don't buy tickets. They're killing that golden goose by alienating their fans.
Could'n't be better... I got a Mint Wireless add with Ryan Reynolds right after this video ha ha. I think Princess Bride works so well because it's a brilliant comedy already, but until you mentioned it I had never thought of it as a spoof once.
Love the game. Worst thing I can say about it is that it is too short.. 😂 But it's really well made and it has Cara in it so.. Awesome AF! Also love her in the show. One of the absolute best in the show. And the show has just top top performances from all involved. Cast and crew! ❤
going through withdrawals and rewatching old episodes. SIGH. wishing for a 2025 comeback
"RUTGERT HOWARD" :) Ha ha ha. Gotta love this guy for not having a clue about the name of this actor. And keeps butchering both the first name AND the surname of Rutger Hauer. Yet seems completely confident and convinced that someone named Rutgert Howard starred in this movie :)
Looks like they're still going on Patreon. Wes finished shooting a film and is on vacation. Hopefully they'll be back soon.
Back to do this watch along again in the hope that it'll trigger the magical appearance of a new podcast. That might seem crazy to some of you but it's Christmas: it's a time for miracles.
I had no idea he was a writer on GOT's game! That's so awesome!!
Ziggy Stardust Bowie is PEAK Bowie!! 👩🏻🎤😍✨
My guess is Wes is off filming a role in the adaptation of Ty (and Daniel’s) new series. Unfortunate choice of hats. #beatla
20:08 he wasn't useless, he was handing out Bardic Inspirations to ensure the Barbarian can make her attacks
I’M GOING TO BE 18 YEARS OLD
13:00 I don't think it's good at all that we live in a society where being vulnerable is seen as manipulative
Drummer is one of the greatest characters ever.
Just stumbled upon this channel, because I’m rewatching Way of The Gun. This movie is criminally underrated. Saw it in the theater, on the strength of McQuarrie’s writing on The Usual Suspects. As a writer myself, I believe this movie still holds up.

17:40 A mistake is thinking those rules were some code that was strictly adhered to before the plague, (I'm assuming you're talking about christian ideals) they weren't.
the 2/3rds estimate has always seemed to excessive, I'd say it's more half of the population of europe, not that the extra 10% is much better
Daniel seems like he's on the spectrum
20:04 The problem is he didn't enough time to realize he's not. In the show he thinks he's the shit, he gets a warning something bad is happening then he's dead. He doesn't have the time to realize his mistakes and feel the defeat and the shame so it doesn't feel satisfying
21:36 Those are children
Going back through a bunch of old episodes during the hiatus, and man this episode is an all timer.
10:30 This is unfair to monkeys. I as a human can't conceptualize what a microwave exactly does, I just know that it works
“Father”
Just checking in to say we miss you guys and looking forward to your return hopefully by the new year 🙏
Any chance of an update? Missing my Ty and That Guy fix. Hope all is good for everyone!
Anakin's an emotionally disturbed teenager he has a reason for being like he is, I don't get the hate
30:30 But this is not necessarily true. There are a myriad of natural disasters where even tho civilization has crumbled from the area, stranger still help each digging people from the rubble and delivering and sharing food and water and supplies. The whole idea that without civilisation people become self centred tribal cave men without civilisation is not as factual as people like to say it is. I also wonder how much the society's culture plays a part on how people act after it crumbles. Because to an outsiders perspective America (and I might be wrong on what it's like) kinda already feels like that, that it's everybody against everyone else but you just have laws to stop people from going crazy, but in my country it doesn't feel like that
29:20 Most people lived to at least 60
17:50 " Yeah I don't care but I'm gonna constantly emphasize that I'm totally not drinking alcohol." cmon dude
33:10 He wouldn't have to be macho if he wasn't insecure
"It's that one<" yes. I thought the exact same thing at the knight being relieved of finally being able to rest.
49:30 But still there are so many people in history from even 3000 years ago that we still remember even if it's only their names.
Jordan also tried to reach out with his fears and got rejected, which probably made him feel isolated and alone with his thoughts. Intense existential fear like that with the thought that no one else understands and easily morph in to something more toxic and lead to suicidal thoughts as a desperate way to get rid of the feeling
John Wick II - Escape from New York.
My 5 best movie Interrogation scenes: Lucky Number Slevin - Ben Kingsley & Morgan Freeman both tied up together at the end. Usual Suspects - interrogation of Verbal Kint in the police station Matrix - Morpheus's interrogation by Smith Lockout - Interrogation opening scene with Guy Pierce Pulp Fiction - Say what again.
