Thx Sir!!-KTJO to the rescue!!!-people with problems with their knees, legs, hips-pregnant gals and old rock hoppers NEED grab handles-the 2025’s don’t have one either-Come’on Toyota
I went to two pairs of aux beams on my fifth GEN Toyota forerunner, first pair one of them burned out within a year, second pair. I was driving home on a long road trip and they were so dim I couldn’t even see the road had to put the original bulbs back in.
Installed one in my 23 TRD Sport. Was actually a PITA but once done it’s been solid.
Yeah, I’m constantly grabbing my steering wheel to get in my Tacoma
Whats the purpose? Ive a grab handle on my 2014…
Since I mailed my return back with KTJO4X4, it has been an absolute nightmare with them. USPS has been unable to deliver to them (office hours are short) after multiple delivery attempts and now my return is going to come BACK to me! I ordered a V2 grab handle from them, didn't work, returned it (the only mod I've ever returned) and have heard absolutely nothing from them. They don't respond to customer service emails/messages and people all over forums seem to say the same thing. I can't get through to anyone, and have been met with complete radio silence after trying to reach them multiple times -- customer service is nonexistent. No refund, I guess I'm completely out my $165 plus tax. Stay away!
Really appreciate the small details you added. Looking forward to installing mine soon. Thanks man!!
Thanks for the Video. Im about to buy this system pre owned from someone. Unfortunately I cant find the new carbon model right now and new is so damn much $ !!!
Where did you buy?
PRO TIP: For those of you having issues threading in the top bolt, it's a minor alignment issue. On my 2019, the original bolt hole was angled too far upwards. To fix this, you can thread in one of the bolts, and then just apply gentle downward pressure to get the hold to angle slightly downwards to match the new handle. It's just thin sheet metal so it's somewhat pliable.
What is the purpose of this? LOL
These JUST came back in stock after being MIA for what seemed like forever. Thanks for the install vid!!
How is it holding up? I've heard mixed reviews on this thing, and as far as I can tell this is the only company that makes this.
I bought, installed and now enjoy it. But what a PITA to install. If you do this mod, get ready for lots of cussing.
How about it hanging too much over back of the car?
There has to be a better mounting bracket. I’ve ordered everything but the bracket
Thank you for the video.
Can you see the other 4 buttons?
First thing I'd do is sand off those obnoxious Archive Garage stickers. Company charges five hundred bucks and then demands free advertising. Real ball sniffers over there in Orchard Park, NY.
Just ordered one of these, they are like $36 off right now too. Great video
Where is company located is it international or domestic let me know pls thank you
So how do you like the grab bar after some time has passed. Is everything still intact, nothing loose, etc
Awesome good job
You edited out the pillar install?
Mine comes in a few days! Caught it on sale for $99. Much better price than the $200 they started out as!
how the hell did you manage that? I want one but that price tag is keeping me from pulling the trigger
@@alex_rodriguez777 Check their site. That is where I ordered mine. It is just basic black though.
FWIW I just ordered one of these on Saturday, it arrived by Monday (granted I'm also in Oregon) and it only took 5 minutes to install. Seems like they addressed a lot of the legitimate complaints people had with more recent versions. Everything fit together perfectly, and the little clip was easy to keep in place too. Awesome upgrade, looks great, and now my 5'3" wife can get in the truck easier too.
i know u have it for a long time , have u try taking the LED off from the low beam off? ( i install my auxbeam H11 and cant take it back off the fan is too big to back off from the truck )
Thanks for posting the install. I was very sketched out about working around the airbags (small job possibly turning into a big expensive one) so you boosted my confidence. I still don't get why Toyota would put those two holes there and NOT put a handle on it.
Instead take a look at the Harbor Freight Daytona super duty floor jack it’s basically a snap on jack at HF prices. Make sure it’s the Super Duty with the greaseable front wheels.
I watched this video just before I installed mine. The install took a total of 5 minutes and 13 seconds. The trick is to twist the top counter clockwise just enough to make sure the top screw hole lines up with the handle hole. Then use a screwdriver with a 10mm socket. That will make it easy to turn. Mine went right in with no problems. Love how it looks and how strong it is. Perfect!!
Hope it works out for you i bought one last January after 12 weeks of waiting I sent and e mail to ktjo who checked there computer and they informed me that the order was never submitted but I had been charged for it they told me to reorder but I would have to pay again and because they just set up there computer system and they would send me a refund in a week two at most seemed a little strange to me but they where a new company so I ordered another and received it in a couple of days a little difficulty installing the bottom bolt with the threaded c clip finally I taped it in place with blue painters tape and got it on the first shot all that was left was the covers the first whent fine the second not so good the little tab that kept it from being lost broke of and thet cover would not snap in place the bottom went in fine so I glued it not my favorite idea but I used gorilla glue for plastic and taped it until it dried so far no problems the worst part was that about 4 weeks went by and no refund check so I texted them and received a very nice reply the refund hadn't been shipped they apologized and said it wold go right out again another couple of weeks went by and no refund this is where the fun started I e mailed them again saying that I had received another handle but no refund this time the nice attitude changed I was told that if it wasn't returned in thirty days from my receipt of it I would loose my money I wasn't very happy abounding to them if they checked there computer they would see I only ordered one after a rather heated text they would send out a new shipping label and as soon as it was returned we'll several weeks went by and nothing from the company no answers to at least twelve e mails I tried reaching them again with no luck I only had about a week and a half so I brought it to the post office and shipped it back to them I no I'm an idiot I could have kept it and sold it myself but that was that I never heard another thing from them and not expecting to I learned a rather valuable lesson since I was one of there early customers I knew little about the company and since then I have spread the word around anyone on the forums anyone installing one and now I'm seeing alot of complaints on there customers service on people's comments so hopefully they will get there loss of business
Wow yes I’m sorry to hear that man. Sounds like a nightmare. Thankfully I didn’t have to go through that. But good on you for spreading the word about how poor their customer service is!
@@jojogun2010 I want to get one but based on what I'm reading here, I guess I'm not getting it. I don't want to take a chance on what happened to @russelmorash3816 happening to me.
Very good video but I got one question I ordered one how long did it take you to get yours and can you reach out to the company to ask questions can anyone answer that
It's called a Tinnerman Clip
Thank you!
Great video! The extra details you included to get past the issues really makes TH-cam video valuable! Thanks!
Hell yea! Thank you! Glad you enjoyed the video.
hey bud great video....just got my spod last week and i'm going to install, but have a quick question...you attach positive to your positive battery terminal...then the negative i should attach to the engine ground and not the negative battery terminal correct?....and i was thinking of a whole lot of options for mounting, and ended up going with that exact set up you did from SPOD....only i got a smaller ram mount clamp so i can push it to the side close to the door without touching, or my knee hitting it when i get in and out....what was your final set up you did?
Hello Project Overland 4x4! This is Nove from AISKITS, I watched your channel it’s really exciting and impressive. This is a newly launched LED headlight! You can see this LED headlight, is not cool?it is our latest development of a product! In the United States, there are many classic cars, they are our closest partners! Now they may need some upgrades to accompany us better. Replacing and upgrading our headlights does more than making driving safer. They improve the look of your vehicle as well as its performance. LED bulbs have a lower power pull on your vehicle’s battery and system. They also give our vehicle a fresh and new feel with bright white light. I was wondering if you could do a share for it on your TH-cam: • Introduction • Overview of features • Actual driving footage with the bulbs • Amazon link on the description for viewers interested in buying the product." Please let me know if this is OK with you. Really looking forward to working with you. Best wish, Nove
Did you have to anything to the factory wiring?
No just filed down the positive and negative ends to make them fit and that was it!
@@jojogun2010 appreciate the response. just one of the small projects i'm thinking about doing.
Thanx. Took the guess work out of it. Put it right together. Getting both side to match up to the holes is a different story. lol. I actually gave up and will tackle it tomorrow. If ur handle is still sticking try loosening the screws slightly and it will prolly spring back like it's supposed too. That's what I've heard a few people say worked for them.
Good job can you send the name off the company I want to buy one like this
KTJO Tacoma grab handle
Why replace the alcan?I said trying to take weight off the truck?the alcan didnt hold the weight or?
How you liking the stage 2 deavers?? Getting any axle wrap?
I loved my Deaver stage 2 leaf pack. But I no longer have this truck anymore bc of some unforeseen event that happened recently. I will be updating my channel soon with what happened and what’s to come!
Did u have any axle wrap or vibrarion whwn braking?
@@bengleckl1877 no axle wrap just didn’t need that beefy of a spring pack it was rated for 1,000 lbs plus. I only had like 600 lbs plus in the bed at all times. I got that Alcan pack off Vilmont new and was thinking about going to a HC rear bumper and swing out but decided not to after all. So decided to go with a Deaver stage 2 pack
Any updates on this?
How long did you have to wait?
Would a rifle fit up there and do you think the rack would hold it?
I believe so! Although I have not tested it so I can’t say Forsure.
Is the single wrap portion of the leaf spring the forward end and the double wrap portion the aft end?
If you have the same Deaver leaf pack as I do in the video then the Deaver Sticker goes towards the front of the truck and the shackle pointed towards the back of the truck. I hope that answers your question..
@@jojogun2010 I have the same leafs not installed yet. Just making sure before I attempt it. Thanks!
I love the product and your install video is good and I don't mind the price but from reading the comments there's no way that I want to deal with the hassles
Just FYI, I placed my order on July 13 and it was delivered less than a week later. They must be back up to speed now
I bought the left it grab handle eight months ago and they ripped me off they never sent me the product and they never sent my money back they are scammers don’t ever buy from this company
Sergio R, thats why you need to always use a credit card if you have one being the credit card bank will go after them or anyone else & always get your money refunded back to ya never ever pay any company by check or debit.. credit card is the best way to go..
@@BurtBowers Well I understand but they just reached out to me and they finally sent me the correct product so I’m not complaining anymore but thank you for your interest good luck
I order the grab handle from the same company since February, and I still can’t get a time table to when I could be expecting my order. Great install video 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽, terrible company do.
No way man! I'm pretty sure mine took about a month to ship out to me once I placed my order back in April. I would definitely give them a call and check in on your order.
I have been in contact with them but they have fail to provide me with any information on my order or a refund. Now they won’t respond to my email or text anymore. I had to open up a case through PAYPAL, hopefully they can get me a refund from them. Well glad everything worked out for you. Keep up your good work, great content 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
@@juanv2466 that sucks man I’m sorry to hear that. They were a little slow responding back to me as well. But I totally understand I hope it all works out for you though.
Thanks for the video. I just got my order and I'm getting ready to install this weekend.
Of course man. You’re welcome!
Other than the wait times (and maybe the price,) are you happy with the handle overall?
Yes I was 100% happy with the product overall! There is nothing out there that gives you that OEM handle look and feel.
Nice job, thank you for making and sharing video. I also went with the same company for the A pillar grab handle. It took half a year get it in but it finally came in! I hope it all goes well!
Yes I heard that the wait time due to covid was horrendous. Let me know if you have any questions on the install. Happy to help!
I just installed it using your tips wasn’t too hard to line the bolts up and screw them in, color match was perfect, but those covers to hide the bolt openings are a little flimsy the upper one will not stay on I’m gonna have to super glue it on. But overall it’s a really clean addition very useful! Now I don’t have to tug on my steering wheel.
@@gerryjimenez28 nice, glad your bolts lined up nicely for you. The plastic piece that covers the bolt on the bottom was super flimsy for me as well. But it is nice having that grab handle there instead of using your steering wheel or door armrest to get in.
@@gerryjimenez28 You might be able to get the snap in covers from Toyota if the ones that came are jank.
@@smaqdaddy Thanks
