TELESIN Camera Suction Mount | Does it suck?
I’ve always wanted to try mounting a camera to a car to shoot through the windshield while driving, but never got a suction mount, because they’ve always been rather expensive or designed to only hold a GoPro. But a while ago @TELESIN reached out to me and sent me this one. For only $70 dollars you get a three armed suction mount that can hold more than just an action camera.
But can you trust your camera with it? Well..

    You asked if we have any requests for specific tests... so I have a request for a test 😂 👉 Can you please test a very bright fast moving object with and without DR Boost (try this at various exposure levels including overexposed and underexposed situations). ❗Context: I have a theory that GH6 is taking two sensor readings at different speeds and combining them into a single output, that's why the exposure level in your video was higher with DR Boost on, at 9:14 The first reading will be at the normal shutter speed for example 1/60 whereas the second readout might be at a shutter speed of 1/6,000. This also explains why the DR Boost function seems to only expand the dynamic range in highlights and not at all in shadows. So if my theory is correct and the camera makes two readings then filming a very fast moving very bright object with DR Boost on would result in a ghosting effect since the position of the object would have changed between the first and second sensor reading. An example of such a fast moving object could be sparks from an industrial saw or anything else which is glowing and moving at a very fast pace. Also, I believe this is why Panasonic decided to leave an option in the menu for switching DR Boost off. Because if this option did not exist and someone experienced a ghosting effect with an automatic DR Boost feature then videographers would not be able to switch it off. So they would not even be able to re-shoot the video to correct the ruined footage. Please let me know your thoughts or if you do such a test and document it for everyone, that would be amazing 🙏

    • @RedFrameTech
      @RedFrameTech 9 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

      Interesting theory! However, from what I understand now is that DR Boost is indeed combining two sensor readings, though not at different shutter speeds but at two gain (ISO) levels. You got me curious though, so I’ll see what I can do. Thanks for watching!

    • @RadCameraMan
      @RadCameraMan 6 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

      @@RedFrameTech looking forward to your tests, to see whether the two ISO levels readings happen at the same time or in succession in which case ghosting effect is still a possibility.🤔

    Hi Sebastian, very interesting review. Which monitor do you recommend in connection with my G9 ii? Thanks, Mathias

    • @RedFrameTech
      @RedFrameTech 3 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Hi Matias. It’s hard to recommend one particular monitor, because it depends on what you want or expect to get out of it. It’s mostly personal preference and also budget. However, I can highly recommend the Neewer F700 if you’re looking for a 7” inch one. The Shimbol Memory 1 is a good 5” monitor and if you’d also like to record externally (including RAW) there’s either one of the Atomos recorders (like the Ninja, Ninja V) or the Black Magic Video Assist 12G (5” or 7”). I personally own the Ninja V and the BM Video Assist 5” and love them both. I’ve got videos on all of the aforementioned monitors on my channel. In the end, any camera monitor will work with your G9II, so try to determine what features you need before purchasing. Thanks so much for watching!

    Super interesting looking monitor. Thinking about going 7 inch because the 5 inch monitors can still feel just a bit small to tell if I'm hitting critical focus on manual lenses at shallow depth of field. What anamorphic desqueeze options does it have? That's the one thing I can't seem to find any info about online. Specifically hoping it has a 1.5x desqueeze. Wouldn't necessarily be a deal breaker since I shoot mostly spherical, but do have fun with my Blazar Remus anamorphics sometimes.

    This is a very detailed review. I recently bought the Neewer CM28 ( same mic) and wondered why I couldn't access the safety track while using the mic on its own. The only thing that I don't like about this mic is that if I'm driving on a bumpy road while recording, even if I'm on the lowest volume setting, I'll get some distortion. Other than that, it's a very good value for money.

    • @RedFrameTech
      @RedFrameTech 11 วันที่ผ่านมา

      It’s definitely great value for money. The reason you can’t access safety track when just using the transmitter is because the transmitter can only record one mono channel (as basically all of these kinds of systems do). The split between the normal track and the safety track happens at the receiver’s end. That’s also why you can only use the safety track option when using only one transmitter.

    Hello Sebastian. Great video as always. I am a rookie on this audio world. I have a GH6 and I recently purchased a Sennheiser 600 MKE mic and also a Zoom H6 Essential. I would like to record from the Mic to the H6 and from the H6 to the camera. The objective is to have audio backup. What hardware do I need in order to do that? Thanks buddy!

    • @RedFrameTech
      @RedFrameTech 26 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Hi! You need to run a 3.5mm cable from the H6’s line-out to the microphone input of the GH6 and then set that mic input to ‘line’ in the menu. Then try to set the H6’s line-out level as high as possible and adjust input level on the GH6 accordingly. If the level on the GH6 keeps clipping, adjust the output level on H6. Btw, what you’re planning to do is a good way to record back-up audio! Hope that helps and thanks so much for watching!

      @@RedFrameTech can you explain? what do you mean by a wired connection? do you pair it via Bluetooth with the handle and connect the Lidar pro? (meaning no need of a usb c connection) I'm a bit confused.

    • @RedFrameTech
      @RedFrameTech 27 วันที่ผ่านมา

      So Focus Pro doesn’t need to be connected to a camera. It’s a standalone system that controls the focus ring of your lens. You can use whatever camera with interchangeable lenses that have a focus ring. A wired connection to a compatible camera only allows for some additional functionality like start and stop recording via the grip. A wired (or Bluetooth) connection is not required for the system to work. I hope that explains it

    Congratulations on purchasing the Gh7 and setting up your studio! The idea of the video is to compare the skin color of the Gh6 vs Gh7, if you turn the sharpness to 0, shoot in Vlog to rec 709, at iso 500 (both) and 2000 (both), and set the exposure to ELzone gray level on the face. I started to work on audiovisual and photography area since a year or so. Studied digital animation, growing slowly and trying to get more equipment. I bought this lens for my GH4 which I use with tripod, not the best tripod for the weight of this lens, but it is supposed to be able to hold the weight of the body and the lens. Saw the 16:20 and I wonder which accesories with low cost can fit on my setup; I was thinking on buying a YELANGU D221 and mount it on tripod, or getting video head (since I have x-go chameleon e tripod). By other hand, I already have a basic shoulder rig (which is really really similar to YELANGU YLG0107D) that I was going to disarm so I can optimize it for holding the lens, and mount it on the tripod. Which advices can you give me based on this? Thanks in advance.

      Great to hear you're getting more into video and photo! I have some SmallRig lens supports that slide onto the two 15mm rods of my rig. They work pretty well and don't cost much. If you also get two rods and a base plate for the rods to go into, you've got yourself a basic tripod rig with lens support. Thanks so much for watching!

      @@RedFrameTech I ended up using a shoulder rig into the tripod header (I manually removed a nut and worked). Looks funny, but it hold the lens. I expect that changing my header in future, for another one, that supports more weight and works specifically for fluid video, is my way to go. Thanks for the feedback, best regards from Chile! ~By the way, very accurate review of the lens. I already did my first work with it a few days ago and is just awesome.

    Hi, I found an app for Android called Bluetooth Keyboard with which you can create your own buttons with names, colors and positions and then connect it to the Talent and remote it via Bluetooth. This allows you not to have to configure anything on the network, furthermore the Talent recognizes it every time you start the APP. Furthermore, a touch area can also be activated which allows you to move a mouse in the Telent or write with the keyboard. There is a free version and a paid version but it costs very little. I think it might be of interest to those who have Talent. Thanks for the video.

      @@RedFrameTech Thanks for the answer :) A few years ago I bought a Kingjoy VT-2500 tripod, which I quite like - it is stable and can still be carried quite well (I don't have a car). The problem is that I shoot with a camcorder, which is very light, so the camera sometimes turns slightly on its own and pans too easily. I hope that friction control could solve this problem, which is quite frustrating for me. I also found it interesting that the head can be disassembled. I wondered if more resistance could be achieved by adding more "filling" (if such a thing is possible). I really enjoyed the part of the review with testing in extreme conditions. Together with the music, the video achieved a really dramatic effect :)
