Thank you for this review! excellent work... Question, is there any latency switching between HDMI sources and NDI sources? in my experience I would expect the different sources to have different latencies into the talent. In other words, will an HDMI signal and NDI/SRT source be in sync with the audio input?
@@RedFrameTech Thank you for this!! thats a brilliant feature to have cos in my use case I need to switch 3 cameras in a podcast studio and lip-sync is crucial. Again, excellent video brother... Good luck on your youtube journey, you have a loyal subscriber in me 👊!
Great video. Are the ptz adjustments able to be done in preview before switching to the scene. The tail air has very fast zoom and presets so I want to have it in position before transition like multicam in OBS or Vmix.
@@RedFrameTech It seems they are overlooking the basic functions. I have emailed them and used the feedback option within the app myself. I would really love to see zoom and preset position speed adjustment on the tail air as well. It is very aggressive. The pan has fast or slow but the zoom is all or nothing.
@@superiorstreaming7350Good thing you emailed them. New firmware is coming out regularly, so the more they here about complaints/requests, the higher the chance they’ll implement it 👍
Is it possible to split the screen into 2 halves and see 1 and 2 cameras, and is it possible to overlay lut on images. And what nD filters do you use, for the 4/3 system you need small filters for small lenses, but they often cost the same as large ones?
@@ggdfggdfgdffgfddg34 you can have a PnP ‘scene’ cos basically the inputs are editable before added in as a source which seems to be the standard with these streaming units. I currently own a Yolobox pro and the approach is similar. I saw that particular setting in another review video for this unit… currently researching a streaming solution for a podcast studio. As for loading LUTs, I’m not sure if this particular unit can mesh 2 media sources assuming that the light is imported as a full frame png seeing as there isn’t an opacity setting in the scene design screen. I’m guessing it might be able to do this since it does have a chroma key function but that would be my best guess. No idea about the ND filters 😂 sorry mate!
The great comment below already answered your question about split screen. As for LUTs: there’s no specific LUT feature on the Talent. However, I’d recommend using LUTs and the source anyway. I have been using K&F ND filters for years and really like them considering their price. I always have multiple 72mm and 82mm and will use step up rings to fit them on different lenses.
Me too! 😄 I don’t have access to a Director Mini, but I’ll try my best to do some research on it and follow up when I find something. I do know OBSBOT have big plans for the Talent and an entire ecosystem.
@@RedFrameTech 32:00 so you mentioned it cannot add phone as camera source? The Magewell already can. You just need to create the scene first, then open the Director Utility app, and then you can see those phone scenes in there. Unless OBSBOT decided not to support the Director Utility app. 😁
@Red Frame Tech Can you program it to auto switch from HDMI source to NDI, or any source after a custom amount of time. Like for example, in 30 secs or a minute it will switch from input to input. Is there an audio delay feature as well?
Unfortunately, it can only auto switch from a video clip for example to a camera source (at the and of the clip), not from a camera source to another. I’ll pass it on to OBSBOT as a feature request. Could be really useful! You can however set audio delay for multiple sources
can you record to an usb stick via the USB A? Id like to stream at lets say 5mbit/s to youtube and facebook page at the same time, but also record at 15mbit/s to an usb stick as backup of the stream that i can hand to the client for fast delivery on the site
The Talent ‘has’ two encoders. These encoders can be used to stream or record. For example, one can be used to stream to yt while the other one is used for recording or for streaming to a second platform. So technically, there’s no way for a third stream or recording. And definitely not to a usb stick. However, a way around that could potentially be to use the video feed from the usb c port and record that. I’m not sure if that can be a clean feed though. I’m going to look into that
@@RedFrameTech YBP = Yolobox Pro. btw another youtuber says you can use 1 encoder to send a stream to youtube and facebook simoultanously and use the second encoder for higher quility records. Also, try inserting usb stick aside to the usb a and it will record there too
@@SmartVideoBE YPB = Yolobox Pro, got it! It can indeed stream to two platforms simultaneously and record to SD or internal storage. However, it cannot record to a usb stick.

What a comprehensive showcase of the OBSBOT Talent. Bravo!

Yes, you’re correct: latency depends on the source. However, it’s possible to set an input delay(s) on the Talent

I wanna see a comparison to the Magewell Director Mini and if they changed anything software wise to it. They didn‘t for the hardware at least.

Are you saying that it can "bond" the three internet options together? Cellular, Wifi and Ethernet. Or just swap between?
It can switch between them, but I can’t rule out that bonding might come with future firmware
The YoloBox Ultra can bond 3 sims, plus wifi plus ethernet.

no 60fps for streaming /recording? for 1000$? oof.
