Boat and Kayak (BK) fishing.
Thanks for checking out the channel. My name is Terry and I'm just your average middle aged Aussie bloke, born and raised in Adelaide who likes to go out fishing. I discovered kayak fishing a couple of years ago and try to head out weekly, work and weather permitting to the Metro areas around Adelaide. I started this channel because of the many questions I would receive every time I posted a picture on social media. Thanks for stopping by.

Headed out from West Beach in the hunt for squid and crabs but they were a bit hard to find. We put out some berley and soon enough the garfish and mackerel turned up in numbers. Thanks for watching.

I was invited by my uncle George and cousin Tim to head out from North Haven on my uncle's ex commercial fishing boat that came from Point Turton. He headed to a spot off Semaphore and there we stayed for the next few hours. 99% of what we caught was from the one spot. We had a squid on within the first 30 seconds of dropping a lure and it just continued with Garfish also coming in fast. Unfort...

Went out with my friend John in his tinny for the first time in great conditions. Had lots of action with whiting, snook, salmon trout and tommies. Head out, enjoy the water and stay safe. Always wear your PFD and let others know where you're going. Remain within the limits of your equipment and skill set.

Sometimes your fishing trip doesn't always go to plan. The weather man gets it wrong most of the time which is super frustrating or your secret fishing spot is so secret that the fish don't even know about it. Luckily the fourth time out produced a great catch with very nice conditions. ♬ MUSIC ♬ Artist: tubebackr Track: Soaring High @tubebackr Free Download/stream hypeddit.com/tubebackr/easyba...

Thank you for watching. I made sure to drive slow on the day and have all my navigation light on at all times. Loving the boat and being able to take out family and friends. Still learning the ropes but I'm really excited to be able to fish different areas I was unable to go to in the Kayak. Stay safe on the water, and thanks for watching, Terry

I hadn't taken the kayak out since Torrens Island but have been out in the boat a few times with family and friends. Still trying to work out the best way to capture footage on the boat using a phone and Gopro. I was fishing Adelaide metro waters at West Beach, Glenelg, Brighton and Seacliff. I head out to the very scenic Rapid Bay in hope of a good catch. Unfortunately things didn't go to plan but I had a wonderful time exploring the amazing coast line. I also had a couple of very good friends from Japan stay with me. I've known one of them for nearly 30 years. For one it was their first time in Australia. I hope I helped build some great memories for them. Thanks for watching. Tra...
Boating adventures - West Beach to Seacliff.
มุมมอง 1.1K10 หลายเดือนก่อน
Watch a couple of middle aged loudmouths head out from West Beach boat ramp on the hunt for blue swimmer crabs. I was very happy to take my friend Lee out fishing as the past two times out he went home without catching anything. We enjoyed the beautiful weather and ended up bagging out on crabs.
On the hunt for metro Crabs.
มุมมอง 62011 หลายเดือนก่อน
A good friend of mine had a solo outing on his kayak to Seacliff, to try to catch squid and crabs. He was unsuccessful and went home empty handed. He then watched my previous video where I caught my bag limit of twenty crabs and decided to try again the next day. My friend went home again with zero crabs. What was he doing wrong?

Hi terry i want to get a kayak but feel worried about sharks what do you recommend
@@Au_Gt_Exotic_Cars You can try to get a bigger kayak as it may help you feel safer. Hobie PA14?
@kayakfishingins.a4327 thanks
Red Mullet are under rated as a table fish . There excellent eating .
Yes mate completely agree, I fried up a fillet in olive oil, crisped up the skin, added salt, pepper and a bit of lemon juice, was delicious!
@@kayakfishingins.a4327 WE used to fight over em as kids , they went before the whiting usually . lol
great compilation mate
Love to see the metro action!
Another great vid Terry some thumper squid there and blowvember has continued into December
Blowvember, never heard of that before but its true!
Great stuff Terry 👏 👍 👌
The perfect day on the water! 🌊 Squid, crabs, and those big macks - an angler’s dream. Great teamwork too! 🙌🐙
Do SA mackerel take lures?
yes when in schools , in smaller number dont seem to do as well with lures.
Yes a believe they do, I was going to try one but they were just coming in pretty fast on a bit of cockle.
nice one boyss should do the mackerel on the grill medatrainian style
For sure, I want to try that. One of my favourites is Saba, a Japanese dish where they grill the Mackerel as well.
A great day out ,we got a good mixed bag ,wish we had more squid ,i can tell ya the one squid i had for tea crispy coated squid was delicious, thanks for a great day out and fun and some good laughs ,now doing picked squid ,cant wait :) look forward to another tip :) being a old ginger i need to keep well covered as i get sun burn so quickly now days :) didnt change religion ha ha ha
Yeah more squid would have been good. It was a bit strange as I had bagged out on the last three trips in the same areas.
Awesome video mate looks like you guys had a great day off work and a quality session
Thanks mate, yes it was an enjoyable day out.
Fantastic looks like the water has cleared up and good calm at the start.
Price is a great area with your kayak. I used to fish there a lot with my boat but mainly out wider for snapper and KG’s. A few tips to try. As you get towards the end of the main creek on your way out there’s a side creek that is very deep once you’re inside it. This often holds Mulloway up to 30lb or so. Big fish in a very small creek. Good Flathead are all around on the channel edges and muddy drop offs. Also as you go around that channel marker there is a huge sandbar. On an incoming tide this has lots of yellowfin whiting following the tide in. I used to pluck some razor fish for bait at low tide and then park my boat on the sandbar facing up the main creek with the incoming tide. The whiting are in the super shallow water and bite well until the tide hits the mangroves when they will enter the trees and disappear. Just keep moving shallower as the tide comes in until the fish stop biting. You could then just let the tide push you back to the ramp 😁😁 check google earth for overhead images of the areas I’ve mentioned. 👌👍
Wow, thank you so much for the awesome tips. I'll have to head back there sometime but come back in with the incoming tide. It was a really interesting spot for sure.
Great video again
Just curious, how do you find the green colour on the Hobie compared to the orange? Are you finding it prone to marking and harder to clean?
@fishinbite Hi mate, yes, the seagrass green is a but harder to clean than the papaya colour. I'm really fussy with getting all the marks off after every session and will sometimes need to use a high-pressure water blaster.
@kayakfishingins.a4327 Wow that's commitment! So if you had a choice would you go orange or green? I wonder whether one may stand out more to the fish..
@@fishinbite Personally I liked the papaya colour better but they both tend to fade a bit so my no 1 choice is the Ivory dune. Was surprisingly easy to clean and you don't notice any fading.
Hey Terry , not a bad session! How do you find ur garmin striker? Is it the clear view version or the stock version. Looking at an inexpensive sounder for my lynx. Cheers mate.
Hi mate, its the CV version. For a compact unit I find them really good and easy to use. I was thinking at upgrading but I might stick to this one for a while as its doing everything I need it to do atm.
Nice little session Terry, good to see the yak all set up
Thanks mate, Im hoping to get it out to a few new spots in the next coming months.
A lot of people don’t know about this hidden gem. I’ve been quiet a few times. I got my PB yellowfin whiting on a gulp worm and also at low tide, I was sticking my kayak paddle at crabs and they would grab on then straight into the esky haha Did you seen any of the extra large resident stingrays or razor fish?
Hi mate, I saw a heap of crabs and razor fish but no stingrays. Its definitely worth another visit sometime. I'll know what to expect and be more prepared.
Lucky you. One nearly tipped me over in knee deep water and would’ve been the size of my car bonnet.
Also I get the razor fish and eat them straight out of the shell. They are also a dynamite bait.
@@Chocos_fishing_AUS I would have cut the line for sure, I don't want to mess with something like that.
@@Chocos_fishing_AUS I was thinking about taking some but wanted to check the rules. I wasnt sure if it was illegal to take them like in the Port River system. I tried to check but had bad reception on my phone out there.
Great sesh in a pristine system. What weight jighead do you use when trolling with the SP? And it would be great to see vid on your setup on the new Revo
Thanks mate, I used these jig heads on the slim swim '6 Pack Jarvis Walker Pro Shad Jig Heads 1/4oz. Size 1 and 1/0' and a TT headlocks on the Zman grub. For casting I use lighter and just the heavier ones for trolling.
@kayakfishingins.a4327 great value jigheads!
Another good video love the thumbnail very catchy
Thanks mate, yeah I was laughing myself about the thumbnail.
Snook City 🎣👍
Sure was, some good size ones around as well.
hay that come out allright , yer usually a tough day out there ,i stay till the tide runs up a bit higher then its easy in , its done for this year prity well , be next year now when ths shittes go :)
Great video mate. Do you carry an esky ?
Hi mate, thank you. I used to carry an esky but found this type of thing to be easier. I now just put one of these behind the seat. Mycoolman 30 Can Insulated Sport Tote 25l
Nice work. Top of barker inlet?
Yes thats right mate.
Thank you for taking me fishing
a rewarding day out.
Great day out good to see some fat garfish around already should be a really good summer ahead. Keep up the great vids mate love it
Thanks mate, was a great day out and the Gar were hitting us the whole time. Missed out on a lot of good footage with a stupid mistake. Just watching your latest shark video now!
great day out good haul of fish and squid too ,well done mate :)
Was very enjoyable out and the fresh seafood lunch was awesome.
Nice one fellas!
Thanks mate, it was a good time had by all.
Nice feed there fellas!! might take the yak out there for a crack. Tight lines 🤙🏼
Do it mate, I was also going to take the Kayak out on the day but got the invite on the tinny instead.
Mate, what a day! Dad got burnt! Please, keep him going with these ❤❤ he knows the spots, big or not! We will all have to do a trip soon!
Hi mate, I saw him completely covered up like he was wearing a Burqa, but he still got burnt. Must be the sensitive pommy skin. Great to see him with a tinny now as I know he struggles a bit with the kayak.
Nice snook - for the fuse you'll need to check the datasheet for the lights and find either the max current draw or if this is absent just use the rated current. Need a bit of a margin as well, say 50% so 1.5x the max current draw. Also check the battery just in case it has a lower max current that it can supply - if so use this instead. Bit ironic connecting up $10 lights to a $300 battery 😂 all good though mate.
Hi mate, thanks for the info, I'll look into the specs. Yeah, its a bit ov an overkill with the battery, but I just wanted to use what I had laying around. I've also got a 7ah fpv battery I could use instead of the 17ah one.
With a tinny like that or a bit of bigger tinny how do you tell how many people can be on it if you buy a second hand are there any boat if you buy a second-hand how would you know how many people can be on it thank you?
They will usually have an ID plate on them that tells you the max weight (number of people) and also the max horsepower you can use with it.
Looks good mate :) I've just started rigging out a PA14 I not long picked up. I remember seeing a vid you made with the side kick arms, do you still have them or have you sold them? Anyway mate good to see you and the lil squid slayer made it onto a news feed on the squid.
Hi mate, I used the AMA kit on my Revo 13 but I still have the custom cross bar from the PA14 build that you can have. You will just need the arms and the floats. Sometimes you can pick them up secondhand.
@@kayakfishingins.a4327 WOW awesome thank you very much. We need to catch up for a coffee sometime soon.
@@onnie1968 No problem mate, hit me up and I'll give you the bar for the PA14.
Great session there the pro letters have smashed the fish in close thats why they all unders. Cracking snook tho we planning a snook session soon to stock up on shark bait 🤟
Yeah I've seen some commercial fishing boats going through there before. So shark season must be coming up soon then?
@kayakfishingins.a4327 yeah normally we target bronzies during November just need a run of warmer weather then game on
Thanks for the great video, it’s great to see you fishing my favourite spot, i normally go out there each weekend on my yak and it’s always great but also so nice around all the mangroves
Yeah I love it around the mangroves. I remember when I first got into kayak fishing I explored the small creeks and loved it.
Nice one mate was a gorgeous day for it
It certainly was, the wind stayed down the whole time we were out.
The vid turned out great , thanks for comming out ,was a great day , heading over to yorks tomorrow , getting probly the same type of fish , look forward to our next adventure Terry :) weath it be boat or yak :)
Thanks for taking me out John, it was good to not have to wash my boat down after I fishing trip, I just watched you.
Great session Terry and John good catch. Heading there this Friday will hit you up. Cheers
Good luck Alvin, plenty of action out there at the moment.
great video Terry! gotta love it when the squid are on
Thanks mate, it was good because I had completely run out of squid in the freezer weeks ago. Some people don't like it when you catch that many even though its was 12 under the legal limit. I only kept 7 and gave the rest away to family and friends. Thanks for watching.
Would love to see another Garden Island vid :))
Me too mate, I've been planning to head back there.
Well done mate! The fourth trip you looks very busy haha! I always feel it is the kids bring the good luck. Every time with my daughters I got a lot of fishes. Well done Chloe!!!!
Hi Bill. yeah I think you're right. Last time I went out with my wife and daughter we also did very well. Have you been out in your boat lately?
Great vid again mate, pity we didnt get much on our tip may be next time, great to see the family out enjoying the boat , ,did ok in the tinny today up at St kilder , catch you up soon :)
Hi John, yeah unfortunately the weather had a different plan on the day, maybe next time.
Nice! Did you get the Revo 13 from Binks? What sounder and what bracket did you use?
Hi mate, I got it used from Sydney but got my last Outback new from Binks. The sounder is a Garmin Stryker 4cv and was already on it with a RAM 1" sounder mount. I've had the same sounder before, they are pretty good and simple to use. Terry
Nice work 🎣🦑👍
Hi mate, thanks for watching and commenting, appreciate it.
Awesome to see you back on a yak mate...... where did you set off from when with the family ? I see you got a great young gun on the squid 🤩
Thanks mate, appreciate it. We launched from West Beach and headed to Brighton/Seacliff and Marino. Just trying to build some memories with the family. We ended up just keeping 7 squid and gave the rest away to family and friends who have no opportunity to head out. I'll be heading out on the kayak a bit more over the next few weeks, weather permitting.
nice to see your back
Thanks Tony, much appreciated
In time, I'd love to see some salmon fishing if you can manage it 🙂
Hi mate, yes I love chasing the salmon. Havnt seen any lately around the Glenelg blocks so I might have to try around Outer Harbor and Garden Island again. Terry
It’s crazy to think that even though I live in Adelaide and my grandparents lived in the Penthouse of the Point Apartments directly behind your bum at 23.07, I have never seen anyone swimming in the lake like they were when you were getting out lol.
