Diagnostic mode on Washsmart/Cleansmart/Fabricsmart Fisher and Paykel Washers.
This is how to enter diagnostic mode for the last generation Fisher and Paykel Top load washers. I would advice being careful especially with the later half if you don't know what you are doing.
You can get a service manual for these models here: www.homeappliancesonline.co.nz/site/homeappliance/479744_WA600_WL600_Diagnostics.pdf
Sorry about the audio, a new case on the phone was muffling it a bit.
Any questions please ask in the comments, or email at the address in channel info. Please don't call us unless you are in the Nelson/Tasman area and would like to book a visit from one of our technicians.

      If you can do hot or warm washes that will help slow soap scum buildup. Using wool wash or nappy wash detergents or fabric softeners will cause a lot more buildup. If it is limescale building up then there isn't much you can do except fit a water softener of some kind to your water supply.

      If there is power at the wall and it wont turn on it will mean the controller is blown. Sometimes you can repair the controller but often you need to replace it. You will also need to check all components resistances to make sure you don't blow the new controller. Beyond what can be shown in these videos sorry, you will need to get a technician who knows FP machines. The fluid around the water valves is normal, it is a sealing goo.

    anyone having trouble with the Lid Lock Solenoid? On my unit the solenoid was clicking but not holding in giving an error. The cause was a micro crack in a solder joint. . . Electronics knowledge required. The tracks follow a crazy path. On the control board there are 2 x 10 ohm resistors connected in parallel. . . Then in series with the switching fet. On my wl70t60 they are located near the water level sensor. The track then routes to a smallish dual fet 8 pin ic. Measuring ohms from the fet pin to the solenoid edge connector, should read 5 ohms. Simply resoldering the resistors fixed mine.

    • @motrepairs
      @motrepairs หลายเดือนก่อน

      Not quite sure about your question sorry, the water balance ring is sealed and part of the inner drum. Overloading washing will usually only damage the neck ring that sits on top of the outer drum and is stationary. If the balance ring rubs on the neck ring it may wear enough to get a leak.

    I had worked out that drive change mechanism ages ago, but didn't realise which part was indeed causing the rub. Mine just touches with a light rub, but not completely around the cap ring. Now I know to change it now. I'm just doing the bearings as over the last few weeks, it's got very noisy on spin. It's only the top bearing and when you hand turn the bearing (just got it out,) it gnarly, but not greatly, but boy did it make a lot of noise. The lower one is still good. (AquaSmart) I have to say the Ajax water valve (4 of them,) the hot was making it stop filling and fault, but now with the replacement the unit on every fill type- hot and cold, fills much stronger than before. The coils must fatigue in the insulation? I measured them with an inductance meter and also with the D setting and checked the new and the old; even the faulty hot fill one All measured the same in the parameters of inductance ,so I was wondering that things change under an electrical load? The impedance is probably what I should have worked out? One MOSFET has heat evidence around it on the control motherboard, but it has to do with the direct drive output, by the rough look of investigation and not the water control as the current needs are way less. Anyway, a blooming good machine. I think I bought it in mid 2000's? It has done much work.

    • @motrepairs
      @motrepairs หลายเดือนก่อน

      Some of the cold valves are proportional, but for cold fill they will open fully. Most likely it was dirt buildup over time on the valve filters or inside the valves slowing down flow rather then electrical.

    • @motrepairs

      Usually that means you need new suspension rods, as the dampening will be worn out. It can be hard to tell if you aren't used to looking at lots of machines. Or it can be just one rod worn, in which case you still need to replace the set. Other thing it could be is if the water has leaked out of the top balance ring.

    Thank you so much for this video - it made replacing the handle very straight forward. I would have spent a couple of hours trying to figure out that the top needs to be slid to the left!

    Hi, very helpful videos. I have a MW512 which has blown the mother board. Prior to blowing up it was agitating jerkily and erratically. I have put in a new motherboard, but am loathe to do a wash in case there is some underlying problem and if blows up again. Would be very grateful for your advice. Thanks

      There should have been a piece of paper with the controller that will list all the resistances you need to check. You can also open the controller and see if you can see any components blown then trace what they are driving.

    Can you tell me possibilities with code 112

      That is a motor current fault, however if it is one of the yellow controllers and happens even when the machine isn't running it usually is an internal fault with the controller not the motor.

    Hi ours wont power on anymore. The PowerPoint is fine but when we plug it in and switch it in and press power in there's no power at all on the washer

      You will need a controller, but need to check all component resistances before fitting the new controller incase something has shorted and blown it, or you can blow the new controller. Sometimes they do just die on their own though. Probably best to get a tech who knows FP machines to look at it.

    Why do some machines have the Bias spring on the back left hand suspension arm? I've noticed that one is on the front left suspension arm? Thanks in advance

      Bias spring was on the front left rod because the machines with a physical out of balance level had it on the rear right. It was kept after the switch was removed, then moved to the rear left on the touch pad models. Not sure why it is still needed without a physical switch but it obviously it.

    Your videos on this machine are great. I have a GWL15US that I’m doing a major cleaning on. I pulled the water pump and cleaned it. It was so full of crud. Now I’ve removed the drum to clean it as well. When I reassemble it, I’d like to check that the cycles are functioning correctly. Would you explain how you run the machine without the lid? How do you trip the lid lock?
