    Any advice on how to install a new drum belt on that dryer? Im currently attempting it and it is a nightmare

      @motrepairs  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Lie it on its front. You should see a mark where belt usually sits, tape it to drum in this position with three pieces of tape. Put drum in machine, loop belt around motor pulley and connect spring for tension. Remove tape. Drum will be pulled slightly out of position due to spring tension. Connect back panel to drum first, then align it which will centre drum.

    Used this video to replace my belt great video. Need to clean inside out how do you remove the back

      Inside the drum where filter clips there is a peg you need to pull forward about a cm, then after taking all screws off the back will lift off the drum.

    Thabks for the video! Ive replaced the belt and its running well, but it now seems like it isnt heating at all. Im wondering if you may know why this would happen and if you have a video on how to change the heating element?

    • @motrepairs
      @motrepairs  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I’ve never had to replace a heating element on one of these before. If the element blows it won’t heat at all, so if you are getting some heat I’d say it’s an airflow problem maybe blockage somewhere.

      Sorry just re-red your comment. there is an overheat that trips when the belt snaps, press the red button in the front by the door hinge and try again.

    I’ve known quite a lot of people to have these dryers in the past and I suspect the reason why a lot of them have been got rid of is due to this issue, any chance you can do a video on how to replace the clip that holds the lint filter in place Dan?

    • @motrepairs
      @motrepairs  ปีที่แล้ว

      That clip is actually part of the rear bearing, if I get time in a week I can probably run over that and how to clean out the inside and the fan bearing which is the other common issue.

    Can you tell me how to get the centre drum bearing out of that same dryer,please the one at the top of the belt,thanks again mate,

    • @motrepairs
      @motrepairs  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      if you remove the lint filter inside the drum, then pull on the little plastic tag in the very centre of the filter spigot it will unlock the bearing. Can then pull back panel off the drum with a sharp tug. Rear bearing is plastic on these.

    What year are these dryers from?

    • @lukekneebone9831
      @lukekneebone9831 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think these particular models was late 90's to 2005 before the eziloader models came out in 2006.

      @@lukekneebone9831 Yeah that seems about right. This model is 2004 and I have another one here from 2005

    Hey mate, im working on my fisher and paykel washing machine, how do i drain the machine using contril panel, im just unclogging it from the top, i have a relatively new machine where you have to take the top off from the back

    • @motrepairs
      @motrepairs  ปีที่แล้ว

      Those machines use a totally different diagnostic system, too much to describe in a comment, ill try and make a video but it wont be until next week sorry.

    Hey mate, my safety reset button has stopped working all together - looked at the fan belt and doesn’t seem that worn, any advice on how to fix ? It won’t start at all now

    • @motrepairs
      @motrepairs  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It’s probably something other then the safety reset it that case, like the door switch, timer, motor or motor capacitor.

    I think people only run their dryers and not often as because of how expensive their power bills cost to operate it except during off peak hours and it’s still not good for the environment unless you have a heat pump (I know these dryers aren’t heat pumps) are they vented out the back or the front?

    • @lukekneebone9831
      @lukekneebone9831 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you internally clean your dryer every time you get it fixed, or you move house or whatever, and making sure the lint filter is cleaned and it's not overloaded!

    • @motrepairs
      @motrepairs  ปีที่แล้ว

      This series is rear vented. Yes heat pump dryers save a bit on power use but I wouldn't get a cheap one, and you have to be using it regularly to save enough electricity to make it worth while for the price difference.

    • @lukekneebone9831
      @lukekneebone9831 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@motrepairs Yes, not that this may be relevant, but turning off unused appliances at the wall will also save electricity as some people think it's off, but it's not completely as the electrics would be live still so thus if you turn it off at the wall, you won't use as much electricity and it also prevents unwanted fried components in power surges!

      Im assuming you are asking about Smartdrive not a dryer? Fault 40 is Bowl disengage fault, check the spline in the bowl, under the agitator, and make sure bowl can slide up and down shaft smooth.

    • @jessemorrison8661
      @jessemorrison8661 ปีที่แล้ว

      @motrepairs it can go up and down the shaft smooth , I removed the whole inside tub out of the machine and it easily lifts up and out and back in again. Any other tips?
      Thanks for replying mate.
