Visiting the Rock Sea in Germany // Felsenmeer
Germany has so much to offer, to see and do. We decided to have a family trip to the Felsenmeer in the Odenwald, Germany. Bonding with my son and trying to spend quality time together that can be remembered.
The Felsenmeer is located in Hessen, a short drive over the Odenwald from Darmstadt, Frankfurt, Bensheim, Mannheim or Heidelberg.

Something about home grown food makes it more interesting. This year we will use the raised garden beds to grow a few potatoes, cucumbers, peppers and much more. We have built six raised beds and this p...

Rules rules rule. I'm over here in Eastern Europe heading my hottub by burning wood and my neighbor can just choke on the smoke I guess.
Time is money. School is where worthless people without skills trade their time in the hopes of being able to later sell their time for money after acquiring some sort of marketable skill. If you have a valuable skill then going back to school is a tremendous waste of time (which is money).

A Verein is a Club or association. There are lots of these in Germany. It is a good way to go about your hobby, be it dance or fishing. It is a good way to get to know some locals.
thanks for the video!
Well, that was certainly confusing. I was at Burgruine Windeck this afternoon and it had a curious cave (with an iron grate) in one of the rooms so I was googling for information. But I didn’t recognize anything in your video. It turns out there are two castles with the same name! You were at the one in Weinheim, I was at the one in Windeck. By the way, I think an escape tunnel is a dumb idea. I never heard of any castle actually having an escape tunnel. You want to stay inside a castle at all cost! A secret entrance tunnel for anyone who couldn’t reach the castle in time would be a great idea, but I haven’t heard an example of that either.
Hmm, I never really thought that our region is that similar to England. I know that some folks from the US told me how similar our landscape is to some regions of, I think it was Virginia or something, not this? I suppose it fits, especially with our love for tea. ;)

I visited that cemetery in June this year. . Very poignant in a beautiful setting.
what are you doing in germany
Today the most voluntary fire brigades have pagers and in addition an app for your mobile. With the app you always know who is currently available, with which skills and how long he (or she of course) needs to get to the fire station. I joined my local fire brigade at the age of 47 when I decided to join the SAR division of the brigade (I had to agree to do all kinds of emergencies to be a member of the SAR division). I didn´t regret it a single moment. It´s great to take part in the trainings and - after a very short time - be able to help people in real emergencies from trees on the ground after a storm to burning houses and traffic accidents.
Estive aí em 1980 !
Great information American in Kaiserslautern buying soon. Would you still say the roof is the most expensive the heating pumps may cost up to 80k? Thanks
Thank you for sharing another one of your interesting - and relaxing - excursions. Another place put on my bucket list. Enjoy the time with your son, they grow so quickly and time just flies. Maybe that is why you stopped uploading and I can fully understand that but if you do find the time again, we'll all love to see what else you discover and want to share with us. Have a great time!
Too bad I didn't receive a notification on this video when you put it up. I just thought you had stopped posting videos and now wanted to make sure and came back to find this and one more but unfortunately, your second channel doesn't have any videos any more - unless the link is faulty. Did you take them down again? I would have loved to see them as well, I always enjoyed your videos. I hope you're doing well and you will continue to upload videos on either of the two channels as you see fit.
I miss him too. Hope he's fine. 🕊️

People doing corrupt things in Germany ? I thought the jews left.
if this was in the U.S. they would have tore it all down to build an ugly mansion or the State would take it and noone would have any fun.
Maybe where you are at but in the south eastern u.s. we'd have left it alone, maybe even repaired it, and the historic society would control what to do with it
To give you some background about that: 95% of all firefighters in Germany are volunteers. Roughly 24000 out of the 25000 fire departments in Germany are volunteer fire department. Out of the remaining there is 102 career fire departments and the rest are privat plant fire departments from chemical industires, heavy Industry, airports and so on. You have to have to have a career fire department in cities with a population more than 100k. Cities with a population more than 25k need to have a hand full of cereer firefighters that are employed by the volunteer fire department. But only if the city did receive town charter, otherwise it's enough to have only volunteers. That of course means that volunteers meet with career fire fighters on scene, if the town has a Career fire fighters. In town with a professional fire department you also have volunteers in parallel. Basically there the career firefighters cover the daily Business and the volunteers come into the game once the scene reaches a certain size (which happens quite fast) or there are too many calls in parallel. I have live in all 3 Kind of cities mentioned above and I am a volunteer fire fighter for 27 years now. When I did live in major City with a professional fire department, there were 2 big career stations plus 21 small volunteer stations. Although we had the professionals, only my volunteer department did respond to the 60+ calls per year. Just to give you an impression how important the volunteer fire Business in Germany is Your Video is 2 years old now. I wonder if you did end up becoming a volunteer fire fighter 😊
Was riding my motorcycle at night and saw this red flash, turned back to see where it came from but I did not see the camera... Luckily the picture is from the front so no ticket on a motorcycle
Did you happen to record any memorial statues to the fallen German Soldiers? The "Friedhof" hope I got that spelled right! Is a nice tour! Danke!
I live close by and have been there once, actually when my oldest son was about the age of your boy. My wife and I wanted to go there during Covid. No chance couldn't even get a parking spot. So we looked for a different hiking path and on the way home stopped by Kloster Lorsch. Glad to see that you raise your son bilingual.
Kloster Lorsch is another nice place to visit, especially in the summer when you can relax on the grass.
Sangat indah pemandanganya sir.. Mantab
I appreciate the relaxing videos. Beautiful place. Keep it up!
Wonderful excursion! You have a sweet little boy, you can be proud of ! Did you know that there ist another " Felsenmeer " near the neighbour city of mine? Hemer in the Sauerland ( South of NorthRhine Westfalia ). We have many lime rocks and caves from a former Fossil Reef.
Thank you 😊 I did not know about Hemer. There is so much to see with such little time.
Very enjoyable, a great place for adventures
Beautiful! Glad you like it.
Good explanation 🐾🐾
You are correct that we need to remember what happened in the past so it doesn't happen again.
we have pagers and the air raid sirens , most cities have voluntary firefighters (freiwillige Feuerwehr) and emloyed ones (Berufsfeuerwehr) with the voluntary ones often being used as a reserve or reinforcements. We also have Jugendfeuerwehr (youth Firefighters) which consist of teenagers from 10 to 18 which learn to fight fires, they usually handle the drinks at barbecues.
In Hessen only cities with more than 100k habitants have a BF. Cities with more than 50k often have employed firefighters, but they only work during the day.
@@nicolasmarazuela1010I‘m also from Hessen, i didn’t know that due to living next to a big city, but living in a town

Beautiful place and good luck
at the 14.07.2021 is a day i dont forget... it was my 25th Birthday, but i was in Response with the German Red Cross as a Medic.. first we build a Emergency Shelter in a School for Evacuated People... after that was standing some local Firefighters asked if some of us could help building sandbags to stop the floods, a collegue and i where going then in a Collum of 7 Trucks form different Emergency Units, St. John, Red Cross, German Water Rescue Federation, Federal Agency for Technical Relief, ASB Firefighters and so on we arrived and we needed to protect a whole City District...because it was lower than the rest of the city so all the Water from the nerby little creek -which was at this point a Stormdrain... would just go into the area... we have layed Sandbags for i dont know how long... maybe 6 hours? cant tell i was alerted at 10 am and i was back home at 3 am... at like 12am i was so exausted that i collapes a bit... so i needed to go to the Ambulance but i was okay... i was transfered to our Field Kitchen Unit to get some rest and helped them the next 3 hours. sadly the next day you could see in the Newspapers that every effort was hopeless the water has rissen so high that it just overflodded our Sandbag wall...the whole District was "lost". Here is a Link from a German News Artikel so you can at least see some Pics and a Video of the area...: www.express.de/nrw/duesseldorf-hochwasser-ueberflutet-ostparksiedlung-68633?cb=1642338519578
A remarkable effort by all of you, the power of water is scary and can be highly destructive.
Thanks.. It answer some of my questions, since i never learn germany before.. lol..
Very sad every german soldier fought for their country may they rest in peace and be remembered
