I would be very comfortable financially if I didn’t help my daughter, now for many years. But she needs the help, although she makes a decent salary, and just bought a house last year under duress, I’m proud of her! I will help her in the future and pray I stay healthy and I’m able to still work. Truth be told, I can’t out live my money so I’ve not much time left. Lol. It’s almost funny but I pray for miracles. Not to sound dramatic.

Wait… what did I miss? When you added your bills total you only added $200 for gas and $300 for grocery, but you said you put $200 in gas for both paychecks totaling $400 and $300 in groceries for both paychecks totaling $600 a month. Did I misunderstand? Cause that total would leave you $-30 per month before you even started on your cash envelopes.

I lost 40 pounds and now nothing in my closet fit so i had to start a sink fund for clothes because im losing weight for health reasons

Some saving challenges are unrealistic.

Meal planning works for some folks. We just buy sales and stock up on those. Not all things are on sale, but we try to get the lowest price. We buy hamburger for the month when it goes on sale. We stock up when meat is on sale at a low price. We keep things for a tomato base sauce usually marinara that can be changed with spices, flour for white sauce, cream of mushroom too. We keep a good stock of canned goods from Aldi. We buy a couple of fruits and veggies weekly on sale. We keep chopped green peppers, onions, celery, and carrots in freezer to throw in casseroles. Same with blueberries and blackberries for cobblers and pies. Also, we keep the budget thr same amount weekly so it diesn't throw off other areas. Some weeks meat takes half of the budget

We try to just stock up on sales as they happen. Some things aren't on sale, but those that are is where we focus. Hamburger is on sale for 3.89 once a month at our local grocery store, so we buy it for the month.

I used your form to make one for us that is similar and works for us. It really had helped us fine tune some areas in our budget.

Hello. Quick question. If you are setting everything up before any of the paychecks come in and not doing it as a per paycheck budget how do you not bounce anything? I understand having a small cushion but does that mean this won’t work at all if you are not a complete month ahead? Just confused would love to quit doing this weekly as I am paid weekly and the checks are not equal. Thanks
