DON'T DO E.C. ELIMINATION COMMUNICATION. WHAT I WISH I KNEW BEFORE STARTING E.C. IS IT WORTH IT?
มุมมอง 11K8 หลายเดือนก่อน
I’m here to tell you why you should not do elimination communication. It doesn’t make potty training easier. It doesn’t mean your baby will be potty trained earlier. You change diapers more often because the baby shouldn’t get used the the feeling of sitting in a wet diaper. You can make potty time as part of the disper changing routine. It’s not potty training it’s communication so you still h...
DON'T FORGET A FLOOR POTTY WHEN YOU TRAVEL. POTTY TRAINING DOESNT STOP WHEN WE GO CAMPING.
มุมมอง 3488 หลายเดือนก่อน
We bring a small floor potty on any trip we take from flights to road trips. Tent camping is no exception. Potty training doesn't stop when we go on a camping trip. During the day we keep the floor potty outside of the tent in plain sight. Then we clean it and keep it in the tent during the night. We do "pee pee before bedtime" at bedtime and then sometimes our kids need to go potty in the midd...
WATCH THIS BEFORE YOU GET A FLOOR BED!!! Don’t regret getting a floor bed instead of a crib

A must watch if you are thinking of having a Montessori room. Here are my regrets for about having a floor bed cs a crib and why you should not get a flood bed. I’ll also give you a tour of our Montessori style room. During the filming of this video, our kids are almost 2 and 4 years old. We have a minimalist style room for our kids. I hope this video provides inspiration on your own kids rooms...

If you are planning to potty train, don't buy pull up diapers. Don't just put your mattress on the floor. While sleeping there's so much humidity and sweat that goes into it and after some time if you don't air it out it'll get moldy underneath.

    • @KacangFamily
      @KacangFamily 22 วันที่ผ่านมา

      We air it out weekly. Our environment is also not as humid. But you can get wooden slats to go under the mattress to allow for airflow.

    Kid#1: EC at 9 months. Last nocturnal accident was at age 14. Used to be every single night until 8, then slowed gradually. Used to pack a change of clothes for school due to almost daily accidents in first year. Has incontinence even now at 15. Kid#2: EC at 18 months. Last nocturnal accident was at age 10. Still has daytime accidents if tickled for more than 10 seconds (despite enjoying being tickled) at the age of 11. Kid#3: potty trained at 3. Last nocturnal accident (of less than 10 total) was at age 7. No daytime accidents, even when tickled. I only bring it up because other moms saw the same pattern with their kids. I suspect that the stress of worrying about wetting themselves creates anxiety which leads to more accidents. 🤷‍♀️

      My youngest is the only one who will wake up consistently to potty. We had a rule for years that no one would get water for at least an hour before bedtime and there were nights my eldest still had two accidents. She almost never wakes up to go. My middle child also rarely wakes up to go and sometimes dreams that he's on the potty. One time he realized what was happening in his dream and woke himself up to go. @@KacangFamily

    Pullups arent really diapers bc there is no straps and thats why they are called pullups bc you pull them up like undies and it absorbs SO MUCH more then diapers have cuter designs and they abssorb so if your kid pees or poops it wont go on the floor and you have no mess it clean up and no it does not encourage your kids to only go in the pullup bc there are no straps so it actually helps them really good for potty training it was the best thing for me and my toddler when i was young my toddler is 10 now so now shes a child

      Sorry I’m not a Montessori channel but I implement it where I can and a mattress in the floor gives the child freedom and independence. I know gray isn’t the best. I lack decor skills. I had other bed sheets before but we wanted something neutral that didn’t show stains as all full size mattresses in the house are the same gray. Queen guest bed is cream color and king size bed is white.

I was looking for a video to find more about EC like how to do it practically and found this video. Thats perfect for me. My son is 6 months and i think this is perfect. Ill make a routine. My older kids are 4 and 2 (3 in 2 weeks). The 2yo still in diaper and i dont want this for the 3rd one. Ill make a routine with the potty and diaper change.

      Thank you. I clearly did EC but also see the benefit of not doing EC. Lots of videos make it seem soo easy and just awesome. When relaxing about looking for cues, I found myself just seeing them at times. It felt less stressful instead of searching for cues. Congratulations on the third baby. 💙 Annisa

    What do you do when sick?

    • @KacangFamily
      @KacangFamily 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      There’s usually one parent (lucky to have a partner) that will end up sick with the baby because of close contact so my husband usually avoids both of us and we sleep separately. Sick people sleep together even now that mine sleep alone.

    Have some common sense. You know your kid, you can use a small bed rail or bumper. If you kid can open the door then , hello....child proof door knob and baby monitor. What worked for me was a bed rail , padding on the side against the wall, a long pillow ( unicorn squishmallow and a weighted stuffed animal which they can hug and just feel like there's someone next to them. And just be there soon when they woke up the first few days when starting to sleep on their own . They will undesrtand that you will be right there and feel safe and eventually they will start to self sooth and go back to sleep.

      That does make sense. We haven’t had to really child proof anything in regard to door knobs or cabinets and I like the idea of not locking them in a room. I know plenty of parents that do what you do.

    Hi there! I enjoyed your video I hope you're well. I'm in northern America, I just started EC yesterday and have caught 3 poops already. I give my almost 7 week old opportunities, after waking, a bit after eating. I like giving her the opportunity to not have to poop in the diaper she's wearing

      🙌 I love it. Someone in US ☺️ it’s always scary doing EC in public but then again less poopie diapers is golden. It’s all about the opportunity. I can’t imagine it’s comfortable to sit in your own squishy poop.

    Maybe you should’ve recorded the video somewhere else if you didn’t want your daughter’s face in the video, instead of making her hide herself in her room. Or waited until she wasn’t in the room?

      @KacangFamily 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That would have been better but I had set up that time for the recording. (I think baby 2 was sleeping). She wanted to be with me and understands we don’t show their faces on the internet. We limit TV time.

    We used cloth diapers with wool wicks. We also did Elimination Communication. The simple aspect of giving your infant an opportunity to use the bathroom when they wake up, just like EVERY human does, and also giving them the opportunity around 22 minutes after eating, was VERY effective. My daughter was potty trained before she was 1 years old. She waited to use the bathroom and started giving us sign language cues if we didn't provide the opportunity. Learning your child and understanding their cicadian rhythm is only a good thing. To say one should not do this or base your anxieties with it as a result of the method is flawed thinking. Diaper training a mammal to an unatural act causes a harder transition when toilet training later. My daughter ALWAYS associated the bathroom with bowel movements. Instead of teaching her to poop on herself, we taught her to poop in the toilet. How is that a bad thing?

      I 100% agree! I could not just let my baby use a diaper when knowing they are peeing or pooping. Even for my husband, we don’t regret doing EC especially when the solid poops start coming or when we travel. I also feel like it’s so respectful to the baby.

    Thanks for the video! Just wanted to say that I saw a video of yours from 2 years ago and then this one and your videos have really improved in that time! I'm getting ready to have my first kid in a couple months and found out about EC today and dove into that research rabbit hole which brought me here. I appreciated your perspective.

      Thank you 🙏 I was working on this channel for 2 years when I was a SAHM and now I started a new channel and that’s been my focus (along with work and kids). This channel has definitely been more of a learning process and I’m not sure if I will continue to post here 😐 Here is my new channel (totally different niche) youtube.com/@AnnisaChomps?si=kYJzJM67gP6UULXv

    If a dog can, why can’t babies? Because babies aren’t dogs. Humans have decency. Only animals do that stuff in public. Nobody shouldn’t be having their baby with their parts exposed to the public and urinating on grass where anyone can see. They’re not dogs. I have a better question. If babies can, why can’t we? Because for some reason a baby is allowed to do that, but we aren’t? We all have the same human parts down there, so how is it suddenly okay for a baby to expose themselves like this in a public place? If you see an older person with their parts out and urinating, or running around naked, it’s weird, right? And I get it, babies are innocent. But they have private parts too. It’s actually illegal to be naked in public and urinating in public. So you’re pretty much doing something illegal. Age shouldn’t suddenly confirm that private parts of a human aren’t private. This is of course my opinion and if anyone disagrees with it, please just don’t reply because I don’t wanna cause drama. So please, whoever’s reading this. Take your baby somewhere private. Go to a restroom. Nobody wants to see this.

      Sorry I triggered you. Babies/toddlers can’t always hold it as long as adults for a public restroom to be available.

      You need to look up crotchless pants and China and learn something. Then educate yourself on what diapers are doing to the planet and also how much they cost. Don't forget you were once a baboon, not that fancy.
