Maybe you should’ve recorded the video somewhere else if you didn’t want your daughter’s face in the video, instead of making her hide herself in her room. Or waited until she wasn’t in the room?
That would have been better but I had set up that time for the recording. (I think baby 2 was sleeping). She wanted to be with me and understands we don’t show their faces on the internet. We limit TV time.
Thank you for sharing! I think theres way too many videos showing the pros of montessori, but I appreciate your honesty and showing your reality of what it's like for you. It's definitely something I need to consider before I put the mattress on the floor, haha.
Thank you for your comment. You could always put a mattress on the floor and the a frame if you don’t like it??? I’m discovering I’m not a purist in any parenting advice and it’s best to do what you feel is best for you and your family. 💙 Annisa
Don't just put your mattress on the floor. While sleeping there's so much humidity and sweat that goes into it and after some time if you don't air it out it'll get moldy underneath.
My experience is: Without sides yes they do fall out from time to time. It does wake them up and they do cry and seem to need settling back into bed. Baby jail: Ours didn’t seem to move out of the bed into other parts of the room. The room was only used for sleeping and nothing else exciting in the room except a few soft toys in the corner of the mattress. We had a stair gate preventing escaping the room. Co sleeping: I’ve never had a good night sleep when a toddler is giggling and kicking me all night 😂 Room storage/security: We did find that it meant nothing could be available that could hurt or be pulled over etc which maybe limits your dotage options, and you always want more storage 😅
Thanks for the comment. Yeah the freedom to move about the room meant our daughter would fall asleep in odd positions/off the bed. Quite funny, I hear you on co sleeping. Kids move around sooo much and what’s with the feet under our body??? 💙Annisa
Have some common sense. You know your kid, you can use a small bed rail or bumper. If you kid can open the door then , hello....child proof door knob and baby monitor. What worked for me was a bed rail , padding on the side against the wall, a long pillow ( unicorn squishmallow and a weighted stuffed animal which they can hug and just feel like there's someone next to them. And just be there soon when they woke up the first few days when starting to sleep on their own . They will undesrtand that you will be right there and feel safe and eventually they will start to self sooth and go back to sleep.
That does make sense. We haven’t had to really child proof anything in regard to door knobs or cabinets and I like the idea of not locking them in a room. I know plenty of parents that do what you do.
We cosleep with both our kids together, 3 and 1. We got a King and a Queen, then put them together tightly across the room. Plenty of space for everyone to roll around!
I just don’t get this video… for my 1 year baby girl the best was getting a flood bed, a queen size. I can breastfeed easily and we can even co-sleep there some times. But every family is different
I don’t know that this is a good example or accurate points when you aren’t using a real floor bed. You’re just using a mattress on the floor which is SO VERY different lol😂
I have seen plenty of families in real life (not on social media) use a mattress on the floor. A mattress on or close to the floor with or without frame is a floor bed.
My son has been on his floor bed (Japanese floor mattress, no rails) since 6 months old. He's never fallen off. He loves the independence and learned quickly how to get on and off. This is ridiculous.
Sorry. I was with the kids 24/7 and didn’t have any childcare help at the time and she didn’t want to do quiet time alone. I thought it would be good to leave it in as an explanation why there was a little girl in the corner.
Horrible advice 🙄🙄😬 they are a lot good reason’s on why your baby needs a floor bed. Also they are a lot a better videos on how to make your baby/toddler room safe and comfortable, I hope no one takes your advice.
Sorry, I know this comment is 7 months old, but I have to say it. Tell me you didn't watch the video or understand the satire without saying it... also, no baby "needs" a floor bed. There are different ways to raise children, and as long as they grow into healthy, independent, responsible adults who can process success with humility and learn from failures instead of melting, then that was the right choice.
Such a deceiving video. First you got a mattress with a grey cover great, very minimalistic and asthetic (not) and you didnt do anything regarding montesori where is where the whole concept comes from.
Sorry I’m not a Montessori channel but I implement it where I can and a mattress in the floor gives the child freedom and independence. I know gray isn’t the best. I lack decor skills. I had other bed sheets before but we wanted something neutral that didn’t show stains as all full size mattresses in the house are the same gray. Queen guest bed is cream color and king size bed is white.
That just a mattress on the floor. You can get an actual floor bed with safety rails
Yes, that’s right! I’m a bit of an aspiring minimalist sooo mattress on the floor for us. 💙 Annisa
May i know where did you bought the map wallpaper??
On Amazon. I have a different one for each room. a.co/d/03bev4Vw

Right … like how she in timeout while her mom blogs
You are rude and judgemental@Stock_Gs300
Are any of you parents? Or are you parents to perfect obedient kids. Give this lady a break
No, mad respect you're hiding your childs face from online freaks. Finally a momma with sense.
Thank you for sharing!

Love this video thank you!
😍 thank you for the comment

We air it out weekly. Our environment is also not as humid. But you can get wooden slats to go under the mattress to allow for airflow.
The expensive laundry basket 😂 saaaaame! Same
I know how that feels and I got sold I to that SNOO for my first baby

Thank you for sharing!!! I’m trying to figure the route for our 4 yr old. The toddler bed is no longer cutting it !!!
My kids love the full size floor bed. Plus I have 2 and half the time they sleep together which is perfect in a larger bed. 💙 Annisa
We cosleep with both our kids together, 3 and 1. We got a King and a Queen, then put them together tightly across the room. Plenty of space for everyone to roll around!
One huge bed! I bet that is so much for the kids. 💙Annisa

The title is meant to be sarcastic as you can see we can fall asleep more comfortably with the kids on a mattress on the floor.

There start of this video was off putting just go into another room it make it another time. Didn't even bother watching the rest

You didn’t get a floor bed… you got a mattress. Big difference lol
Thank you for clarifying

We have used a floor bed for both of our babies and love it. 😜 Sorry the video/title triggered you. 💙 Annisa
😂😂😂😂😂😂 I
Think the floor bed is better and safe

It’s what ever works for both sides my mom didn’t co sleep with all of her kids well just 2 out of 6. She did and the rest of of had our own beds
