Merry Christmas Alexandra! I’ve really enjoyed your videos and creative content. It’s a gift to have a peak inside your family and homeschooling, you’ve been an inspiration to me. Thank you! 🎄💝
That’s so kind of you. I hope you had a fabulous Christmas xx
That coffee machine looks perfect! Love seeing what you all eat ❤️
Thank you! I hope you had a great Christmas xx
Hi Alexandra, you are such a beautiful Mama! Merry Christmas to you and your family xx
Thank you! You too!
What made you start this carnivore diet and what is it ? What made you want to cut down on oxolates ?
I started it to reverse type 2 diabetes. I’ve done some research on oxalates and can see they are cause for concern health wise which is why I choose to cut down on them.
@largefamilymama ah , is it helping the diabetes?
Your videos are so soothing 🥰 Have a lovely cozy Christmas with your beautiful family!
Thank you so much! I hope you had a lovely Christmas xx
Merry Christmas 🤶
Same to you!
Have a great Christmas all of you. Xxxxx

Wow amazing! Your story is hopeful. I’m scared to do it again at 41 after two miscarriages.
Good luck!!
When you get the chance to do some painting, please share. I would love to see them! I need to find the time to do that also.
Will do!
You are such a wise and calm presence in my life. I know that sounds odd because we don’t know each other but your videos are such a blessing! And I truly believe it’s because you are so authentic and your videos never come across as forced, just so genuine and real. I would absolutely love to listen to your audio books with my children! If you find the time to do that, we would love it so much!
Thank you, it is so lovely to know you are enjoying the videos I make 💞 I will let you know when I set up the audio book channel xx
Lovely video. It’s terribly hard to get up at the moment. I and struggling this year more than normal
Oh no, sorry to hear that. Be kind to yourself and know that we are soon heading towards longer warmer days ☀️ xx
New here! Thank you for sharing such an honest and real message. It is very timely. It's after 2:30 a.m. where i live (Michigan, USA), and i had trouble sleeping. So, i got a bowl of granola and blueberries and turned on my youtube. Haha😅 Your video popped up on my feed, so i tapped it because the title grabbed my attention. 😊 I get seasonal depression usually around January, but I've been down since November because our beloved family cat of 18 years died three weeks ago 😔 and I've been dealing with some other tough things. I'm also a homeschool mom of six 😊 so i completely relate to you on being so busy with family life, homeschooling, etc. December is usually a tight month for us financially. For me, it's hard to find the energy to be festive because of that, but i try my best. I get overwhelmed with the media and socials pushing for spending more money and buying a lot of gifts. I also worry myself a lot about making sure my children have gifts for Christmas. I love slow living and do my best to practice it. I find so much joy in the simple things of life. Just like you, we've also been getting outside for nature walks and crafting. I plan on also doing baking with my kids. 😊 I found your video very relatable. I was nodding my head at everything you said. It felt like it was me sharing how I've been feeling! Your message lifted my spirits. Thank you for this encouraging reminder. It has helped me tremendously! 💜 I now feel encouraged to be gentle with myself and seek moments of joy. Thank you...thank you! 💜💜🙏🏽
Hello and welcome! It sounds like we do definitely have so much in common 😊 We have almost gone past the shortest day of the year and for that I am grateful, bring on the longer days! 😆 Alexandra xx
Congratulations! I have 4 kids and my youngest is my rainbow baby who is 2.5 yrs old. I’m 45 😊 I had twins at 30 then 18 months later had another child. thanks for this video and sharing.
That is awesome!
@ iI felt like the only one my age but it’s good to hear from you ☺️
Loved the realness of this video. Thank you for sharing with us! 🙏
You’re welcome 💕
❤
🥰
I am very selective with who I watch on TH-cam because as you say so much of it is not reality. I’m never going to bow down to the pressure put on us with all the masses of rubbish that people are buying and all the gift giving on the lead up to Christmas. We all need to learn how to have time doing nothing and slow our lives down and focus on what is really important. You are much more relatable than most family TH-camrs. My attitude to life changed 18 years ago when my youngest daughter was born with Down’s syndrome and she has taught me that life is made up of all the little achievements. My daughter has taught me how to find joy in the most simple of things.
It’s so lovely to hear the perspective you gained after your daughter was born 💞
I could listen to you talk all day, wise words. I love the wine bottle analogy. I too need to find some time for me, just a couple of hours a week. I find the darker months start effecting me from January, I think the lead up to Christmas helps me a lot as I love Christmas so much (even though im skint) that causes stress and pressure too, but I try to remember the kids will remember the games and the time spent rather than what they got. It my fault I do like to spoil them at Christmas. Come January im done with the rain and dark nights. But I am trying this year to enjoy and embrace this season, so time will tell come jan hahaha xx
I really hope you do not get too down in January. Take those moments for yourself and hopefully that will help xx
Interesting, I feel better after January... Nov-Feb are very difficult for me, I get depressed. I hope January is not too hard on you, and that you find something that makes you feel better.
I don't have a step counter but wow, I believe myself to be in the same boat. On my feet all day but not actually getting in as many steps as I should. I had been telling my husband I want a small mini compact treadmill of some sort because I feel the urge to just walk but there is no way I'll get up in the dark cold morning and walk the country roads. lol This was such a lovely lovely video. Very nourishing. We all need to slow down for our physical and mental health... which in turn benefits our spiritual health. It's totally true that the days just blow by if you are just slammed all day long. And yes, candle light and a few warm incandescent lights on at night really do help. Thank you for this video Alexandra, you've inspired me to pick up reading again at night. Let's honor ourselves as a reflection of the season around us, our souls need the slow down and reflective time.
I can understand not wanting to go out for a walk when it’s dark and cold, sometimes it’s hard to force myself. I just wrap up warm and tell myself that I would take a dog out for a daily walk and I shouldn’t treat myself worse than I’d treat a dog 🤣 We all have our own unique ways of motivating ourselves 😆
Hi Alexandra, what a beautiful video! Thank you. Your voice is so soothing, if you do record audio books in the future, I would love to listen to them. Not related to this video, but can I ask if you’re still buying your milk from supermarkets? With all the worry about Bovaer, I’m trying to find the most affordable way of avoiding it. I’ve looked at local farms, but they understandably are a lot more expensive. I just wondered if perhaps you’d found a more reasonably priced alternative? Thanks x
Thank you, I will start an audio book channel soon 😁 I only ever buy organic milk and this does not come from cows that have had any Bovaer so yes I do still get milk from the supermarkets. I buy raw milk from the farm in the warmer months.
What's your opinion on coconut aminos? Are they a good substitute for a soy sauce?
I have heard that is a good substitute.
I really struggle with slowing down and the winter months so I needed to hear this because i know you are right and j should take this chance to slow down and savour moments more xxx from Victoria home educating the mad lads xxx I hear you about steps I was shocked i do so little steps around the house when I always feel like I'm doing something x
Thanks Victoria. I feel like I’ve been rushing round so much lately. I need to slow down, the days we’re going too fast so this winter I’m saying no to more things and simplifying my life a little bit. I just want to be more present with the children (and the hubby) xxx
Hi Alexandra. I'm with you on the vlogmas thing. I just can't bring myself to put all that pressure on myself at a time of year where I'm already overwhelmed. Matt Haig is such a wonderful author. Slowing down is something that I've really been trying to do. I really struggle with the winter months. Getting outside definitely helps. We always do jigsaws and board games too. You are so right about filling your own cup. I always forget about that. I read every night too and it's a huge passion of mine which is why I'm adding the book stuff to my channel. I'm rubbish at being creative, but I'm trying to improve that. This is such a wonderful video.
I’ve been really enjoying your book reviews and hearing about where you’ve bought the books from.
Hi Alex, You are spot on when you mentioned about slowing down, especially in these winter months. It can be a soothing time if you acknowledge the nature around and feel what is happening naturally around you. I’m also going to get a good bottle of wine and some great cheese and slowly taste them. Thank you Alex. I feel better already xxx 😊. Oh, and Merry Christmas to you all xxxxxx
Hi Jeanette, I’m glad it makes sense 😊 Oh the cheese 🧀 and wine 🍷 sounds fantastic 😁 I hope you all have a very happy Christmas too xxx
Your voice is so soothing, and I love your thoughts on living through the colder/darker months with grace. It's something I have historically struggled with also. Found you through searching for videos about pregnancy in one's 40s (I've had two in my 40s) and then discovered we've many things in common. It's so lovely to meet you.
Hi Brooke, it’s so lovely to meet you! I had my last two babies when I was 40 and 44, I felt fantastic 😁 How old were you? Did it all go well? I truly believe the reason so many feel down at this time of year is because we’re expected to carry on the same as always when it’s natural to change with the seasons, to get up and go to bed at different times, to slow down etc. xx
Hi Alexandria, it's lovely to see you. I really appreciated you doing this vlog. I couldn't agree with you more on every point you made. I'm struggling and my Christmas and social battery is flat, and I appreciate your gentle reminder to go outside or do things that will fill our own cup. I've watched you for so many years now and I always come away feeling better having had a visit with you. Please know that you have help me today, as I'm sure you have helped many tired, struggling burned out mothers over the years. You and your husband are a credit to your beautiful children. XX
Oh thank you, that is so kind of you to say. I just really wanted to get the point across that it’s natural to feel and behave differently during different seasons and we shouldn’t be too hard on ourselves about that so I’m glad that message is helpful xx
Remember to give yourself grace.
Thank you 💕
What a lovely video! I can relate to many of your thoughts, but I do not struggle during winter time. I love this time of year, even though it gets really dark here where I live during winter. The need of doing something creative is always present, and has always been. I sing in two choirs and a few singing groups, and I also play a lot of instruments. Now I have the time, and also more energy, when all my children have moved out. Now its time for crafting, I do that all year round but more before christmas. I am always giving gifts I have made myself.
That sounds wonderful, I love to sing too. Handmade gifts are the absolute best gifts there are, nothing else compares 😁
I feel quite low at this time of year too, both in mood and energy. I definitely agree with you that being outside helps - getting some light and fresh air each day does make the world of difference. This run-up to Christmas is quite a struggle though. So much to do and organise and my body and mind just wants to slow down. As soon as the light goes in the late afternoon I really want to just curl up and relax or sleep but it isn’t possible! Carving out a bit of time for reading and creativity helps me too when I can.
Wouldn’t it be so nice to be able to just relax and sleep during all the dark hours?! That would be amazing but yes life goes on and we have things to do. It is nice if we can just slow down a bit I think 💕
I wish i could bring myself to spend more time in the sun during winter. I just get so cold. I fo out for any more than just getting the kids in the car ro fo somewhere i just freeze and am kinda more down after that. I do try to supplement some vitamins during winter. My kids don't mind going out but its just to play in the yard where i can watch them from the window. So i try to spend even more time outside during the other 3 seasons. Thank you for sharing
I really do understand not wanting to go out when it’s cold outside, I feel the cold terribly as well. The only way I can do it is to wrap up with lots of layers on and then walk fast to keep warm. I do have the strong urge to just stay inside and hibernate though 😊
Is it possible to use mica powder instead of gel food coloring? Edit: I don’t have children, so I don’t have to worry about anyone eating them😂.
I honestly don’t know, sorry
@ it’s ok. I actually love how your crayons turned out. Thank you for your channel.
@ I know it is weird that an adult like me wants to make crayon , but I use crayons for my mix media art projects. I am an artist and we can be rather eccentric people. I might follow your recipe fully so my can turn out as vibrant as yours. ☺️
It’s not weird at all, we have several artists in this house and I understand.
What kind of supplements did you take.?I’m 44 . I lost baby at 42 years old
Fermented cod liver oil, butter oil, magnesium and Spatone were the supplements I took during pregnancy
Wow!❤
😁
Hello, Very nice video, thumbs up from me and great food!👍🤩👩🍳😋 Nice greetings from Germany!🖖

Congratulations!!! 🥳🎉 😂 How do you cope caring for 9 babies?
Thank you! It’s easy, just don’t have them all at once 🤣 My children are all very spaced apart, the eldest four are adults.
Do you have a recipe to share? Yummy
Coming soon!
Nice to see the Union Flag cut into the pie.

Such a lovely woman ❤️
As are you ♥️
I absolutely love your channel and honesty. Doing this diet is rough this time of year. Hopefully, you'll come back after the holidays.
Thank you lovely person 💕
Yes! We do our best. We aren’t living the same way our parents raised us. It’s not a criticism, we all have to make our own decisions in how to live and news flash!! You can’t win on the internet butwe can win with loving our kids!
Exactly right
You are amazing! Really appreciate your content and admire your commitment to health. Such lucky kiddos! 👍🤩
Thank you so much 💕
I do buterrchino, i also add 7 or 8 grams of pure cacoa powde( not carnivore) but only about 2 grams of carbs for 7 grams of cacoa. It tastes like hot coco.
Sounds delicious 😋
