Those are some good-looking meals! 😋😋 Its fascinating to see how our different bodies react differently to certain type of food. I have no gut issues, so foods rich in oxalate do not affect me negatively. On the other hand, animal products rich in fat do. 🤷🏼♀️ I guess the key it's to be fine tuned to your unique body and feed it in however way it thrives best! ❤
Your family is so lucky! Having a mum with such a dedication to healthy lifestyle, both nutritional and educational, they are really growing up in a very good atmosphere.
Yum! I love these meals you made and I’m sure your kids did too! I’d love more of these. It gives me good ideas for food. I’m Intrigued by the calcium/vegetable thing you mentioned.
I love your videos! I think you're doing better than 99% of parents in this world in regards to the foods you prepare for your family and ultimately teaching them better food habits that will be a huge blessing for them in their futures and as they have their own families one day. With so much conflicting information or, dare i say, misinformation out there today, it can be so difficult making us always question if we are doing best for our children. One way you can be certain that you are is the fact that you are concerned that you are. God can work so much with that for our good and our family's good even if we miss the "perfect" mark a little. 💝
Not too sure how anyone could criticise the diet you are feeding your family it seems pretty good to me. I cook in a very similar way and try to make as much from scratch as possible and haven’t bought bread for a very long time as I make all of my own sourdough. You are definitely doing the best for your family. As you say you can’t please everyone nor should you try to. Keep doing what you’re doing.
So funny~ just watched/listened to same Dr. Bright talk while prepping the other day as well. Her name suits her well, imho. She actually edited & re-published one of her books due to some further learning she'd gained re dairy, which is sometimes inflammatory for people. Another good read is Dr. Davis' book "SuperGut", which he wrote after "Wheat Belly"~ both are excellent, imo. *Loved Sally's book as well~ so much good information. How blessed is your family to be eating such home cooked meals~ amazing how much we juggle during these years, absolutely breathless just watching you here while imagining the rest of your days, whew! always tried to do the same while raising our children, yet much less was known back then, so I wasn't nearly as conscientious as you are here. Oh my word, did I ever push those vegetables & fruit! Still feel good that at least I served a lot of protein as well, just not nearly enough fat~ sigh. We do our level best w/what we're given & what we know. So good of you to share your efforts, & also your thoughts on all of this as well. I'm nearly certain there are many more women out here than not who couldn't agree more in striving to provide balanced meals that children wil actually eat. It's also an individual, personal decision for each family & I have high hopes that we are all capable of respecting & honoring the same for one another. Samantha in AZ
Thanks for your lovely comment Samantha. So funny that we watched the same video whilst prepping 😆 I don’t believe we should regret the past, we have always tried to give our children the best food. The best way forward is to keep on trying our best rather than following the herd and always repeating the same thing. It seems we do think in quite a similar way 😁
Husband and I are carnivore too, and I struggle with what to feed Ms. 8 and Mr. Almost-2, so this has been helpful! Don't stress the oxalates. Littles are metabolically healthy, and other folks are feeding their kids food-like substances! Keep doing the best you can! ❤ I'm gonna start a sourdough starter because of this!
Thank you, it would be nice to have a little less stress about all this, I’ll just keep trying my best. Good luck with the sourdough, it’s great stuff 😁
Wonderful video especially what you said at 13:30 . I also make sourdough and homemade pie crusts and much healthier than purchased, processed. My goal all these years was cook-from-scratch and it gives me joy. My older son(2 kids here) is cooking with his wife and makes me happy seeing him in that role being a helpful, hard-working husband. It makes my heart happy seeing him passing on traditional things too. They both cook Proud mamma
That is wonderful and I can relate to the pride you feel! Both of my adult children, that have their own homes, also love to cook from scratch so I feel all my hard work has been worth it. Now my grandchildren get to eat healthy food too 😁
Lovely meals. It's difficult in knowing whats best isn't it ? Its funny how you've done a complete 180 from being vegan exactly like I have, sometimes I don't know which foods are good and which foods are bad lol, im in total parallel with you in so many ways, lol.
I'd be really interested in hearing your story of how/why you went carnivore and left veganism and all the important things you've learnt along the way, I personally would love to hear, as you're similar to me and I think it may be quite a popular (or attract haters, lol) video?

Yes exactly! I could not agree more.

That’s my goal, I always feel like I’m not doing well enough but if I keep on trying then that keeps me somewhat content ☺️
You are amazing! Really appreciate your content and admire your commitment to health. Such lucky kiddos! 👍🤩
Thank you so much 💕

Yes if you research oxalates you will be able to see how problematic they are, but the calcium binds to them and draws them out xx

Yep, I think I’ve tried it all!! Still looking for that perfect healthy food but does it exist 🤷🏻♀️ xx
