    Love your videos! Can you do a video explaining why you switched from CM to Waldorf and hoe your kids are doing with the change?

    Loved this, thank you for sharing Alexandra! We're starting not this week but the next so this was just what I needed. A reminder that the first weeks will be a bit of a jig-saw puzzle that'll work itself out quickly. Beautiful work Mama and I just love the Waldorf colors of the day too. It really helps my sons comprehend the week. Like on orange day is our friends play day. I'm making our days themed to help me cover everything I want to cover in our Waldorf world. Like Mondays is music and movement (eurythmy) and modeling. Tuesdays is textile (handwork) and theater (act out what stories we are reading for lessons). Wednesdays is woodwork, wet on wet paint or wax modeling. Thursdays -friends and Fridays are form drawing and fun. We are doing our main lesson block work every day but Thursday and practicing math in circle. Should have plenty of time for outdoor play with this schedule I hope. We'll see how it works out but that's my plan. :) xo

      I love it! Sounds like a great weekly rhythm 😁 Do you also incorporate the grains of the week? I always wonder how I must sound to people who have no understanding of Rudolf Steiner’s work, they must wonder what on earth I’m talking about 🤣
      It’s lovely to talk to someone that gets it! 😊

       @largefamilymama wow youtube will not let my post go through! lol this is my third and final try. Fingers crossed!
      Right now we don't incorporate all the grains of the week because my family, basically everyone but me, is not a fan of millet, rye or barley! I've tried to no avail. lol but I'd really like to incorporate the scents one day. Would love to see how we're all feeling after a couple weeks of being consistent with that.
      And, YES, it's so nice to talk to any fellow Waldorf families and especially watch you with youtube videos. My favorite. I love studying Steiner's work and living a Waldorf/homeschool life so much. Really it feels like coming home the deeper I dive in. I can't help but to bring it up with others and everytime afterward I hear crickets.... lol literal silence then the awkwardness comes in. 😬
      XO p.s. this is wildflowersbythelake, sometimes I chat with you on IG.

    We're back to our homeschool routine tomorrow. Lots of changes around here too. Our eldest has graduated and is working two jobs, my teens are going to be supervised by me this year as my husband has gotten busier with his private tutoring work, my three middles will also be under my supervision and the two littles (5 and 2) are tagging along. The 5 year old is steaming ahead with all his learning activities. He picks up so much from his older siblings, as they have all done.
    Today is a cleaning and prep day (lots of details like filling my stacked jars with bread making ingredients, milling some grain, changing bedding, vacuuming bedrooms, mopping floors etc.) so that we're not already overwhelmed and behind on Day 1. I don't think one can ever be fully caught up but it feels good to tick things off the list.
    All the best for the start of your new routine. Hope you find a good groove.

    Im really drawn to waldorf education but as mum of 8 i just couldn't do so many different main lesson. My children are close in age so we take aspects from waldorf like head hands and heart, seven lively arts and have a family main lesson. Would like to see how.waldorf works in your home

    Adrem to my last post, with so much noise and interruptions during lessons your children will suffer.!

    • @largefamilymama
      @largefamilymama  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +6

      Yes I’m sure it’s so much more quiet in a class of 30+ children 🤣

    Home schooling with your young children and a young 2yr old that needs constant attention along with household chores throughout the day. Your young children will miss out. They are better off at the local school where they can learn and socialise with better timing.. I'm a grandmother and I know what's best.!l.🙂

      @largefamilymama  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +11

      I’m a grandmother too and could not disagree more! How would it be better for my young children to be away from their loved ones with a huge group of children that are not cared for as much as they ever could be by their mother?!!

      I'm not sure how being in a class of 30 with 1 or 2 teachers you would receive more attention than being at home with mum and siblings

    Supermum 🦸🏻‍♀ Looking forward to seeing your daily homeschooling routine. I'm halfway though the book you recommend, we are not started ours until beginning of oct. We have never had a proper routine but I think we need one, suppose thats the beauty of it we can try different things. x
