Another super Vlog. That Christmas cake looks fantastic! You always do the best for all your children Alex. It’s normal to feel overwhelmed when you have so much organising to do. Keep being awesome. Your children have had and the little ones continue to have THE BEST upbringing. I hope you all have a lovely Yule/ Christmas this year. Xxx
We as women need to stop sort of "excusing" our anxiety. Just because we live a "good life' and are cared for does not mean we can't have anxiety . Or that our anxiety means that we are somewhat ungrateful for the life we have. Those very thoughts make us more anxious. We live in an anxious world, that is always "on". Everyone is telling us what to eat or what not to eat, what supplements to take and not to take. If I pay attention to it all I can hardly breathe sometimes. We have hormones, change of season, stress. Taking a break from the vlogs is a great response to your needs❤
Thank you for understanding. I have certainly shut my mind off to much of that noise you speak of, I stopped reading and watching the news many years ago and so feel a lot better for that ♥️
I absolutely adore Christmas cake, and yours looks so lush that I think I will be making that recipe this year. Thank you for the lovely vlog, Alexandra and I hope you are soon feeling much better and less anxious. I'm sure mealtimes are incredibly stressful in your home; however, I'd love to see some slow cooker meals, your beef with the lentil's meal sounded gorgeous. Have a wonderful week.
I’m glad you’re going to try the Christmas cake recipe, you won’t be disappointed! I will film some of my slow cooker meals soon, they are so handy in busy times xx
I completely understand with the overwhelm of all the logistics with lots of children/home educating 😢. I am very lucky that me and a friend manage to help each other out to lighten the load every other week. The cake looks divine I shall be copying that recipe
That sounds so lovely to have a friend like this and can be that friend for them! 😍 mine are 11 and under so don’t even have older kids that can be left to look after their younger ones 🥴 feels exhausting sometimes but so rewarding x
@@thehighlandlife2023 mine are 11 and under too. My friend is very much appreciated. Even someone helping out with the mental load just once a week is such a gift.
I know a lot of people don’t like that rich fruit cake taste, I’ve always loved it. During one of my pregnancies I had such a craving for Christmas cake even though it was summer 🤣
I totally get it that is me thanks for making me feel that I'm not alone its so confusing ❤ you never ramble love listening to your vlogs missed them but glad your ok ❤
I'm a mom of just one (soon to be two!) and I experience lots of anxiety despite living what even I consider to be a really lovely, calm, and technically low-stress life. My husband deals with literally EVERYTHING stressful for us but I still have anxiety😅 magnesium seems to really help though.
Hello I hope you feel better soon. I’m naturally a bit of a worrier and would have low level anxiety at times but at about 10 weeks pregnant (baby number 4) I started getting the symptoms you are talking about. Overwhelming anxiety and worry about my kids/parents/my own health. Was also easily irritated which was unusual for me. I would go to bed at night and wake with almost panic like symptoms. I had never experienced this before and put it down to pregnancy hormones. I asked to have my iron levels checked and was told they were fine but when I got my notes I saw that my ferritin (iron store) was at the low end of the very broad scale of ‘normal’. I was given iron by gp but don’t take it as it causes lots of gastro issues which then leads to uptake issues. I have been taking gentler iron such as Spatone daily for a few weeks and iron bisglycinate (Viridian) and within a week I felt so much better. Iv only woke up in the night once in the last week (it was almost nightly) and I’m hoping by improving my diet It will go completely. My anxiety through the day seems to have gone. Added bonus of having focus to get stuff done around the house (I thought I couldn’t get work done because I was too busy with kids). My hair has been shedding badly for years so hoping that improves. Sometimes busy life can be overwhelming and push your body into anxiety symptoms but sometimes it can also be due to a physical reason. Just a suggestion for you to consider. Also consider getting b vitamin levels checked as they go hand in hand with red blood cell production. Wishing you all the best 🙂
Thanks Krystine, yes I agree Spatone is fantastic, it’s the only iron supplement that works for me. I truly believe diet is almost always the cause of most illnesses. My iron levels are good but I think maybe more b12 could help me so I’ve been eating lots of lamb liver, the kids love it too, we have it fried with onions and lots of seasoning. Honestly though, the thing that’s been helping the most is magnesium, that stuff works like a dream, helps me be calm and helps me sleep.
You know exactly what you are doing..I’m sure it won’t be long before you’re feeling better 😊. I retrained as a holistic nutritionist before having kids and was amazed how impactful diet was with my underlying anxiety (I had always thought I was just an anxious person and had to get on with it). I’m ashamed to say I didn’t even consider iron as an issue for me as I thought it was too simple. Must add some lambs liver to my shop. Thank you for your videos 🥰
I've missed you! I know the worrying, but we get through it, right? (My kids dad, my ex but still my closest friend, died last week. I am so worried about our children even though they are grown ups now, at 19, 29 and 30).
