What’s the polish machine brand that you’re using
It’s TORQx by my chemical guys
I’m about to do this project in my 04 STi 😊 Did you use the while line 08-14 bushings for the 2015 STi rack? If so, do they fit ok? I got the Cisco brace as well🤙🏽
Yeah I used the white line bushings! They fit just fine. There’s a full video on my channel about it 🤙🏼
My 02 wrx has 199k miles on it with original suspension and struts
That’s wild…how does it ride
Nice video! Definitely my favorite track and it looks like the perfect weather for you!!
Love this track. The weather was great. A little humid, but not too hot.
2020 wrx Limited owner bought brand new in June of 2020 here ... I have always changed my oil every 5000k ... used to take bout 6 months to hit that interval but since the very end of June of 2023 that interval is now every 2 months ... 2.5 if I'm lucky ... due to now working in construction and putting more than 100 miles a day just for the to amd from to work ... but I installed a Crawford's Performance air/or separator literally the DAY I brought the car home ( already had it on deck ready for installation ) and my car has NEVER consumed oil ... oil has always been at the full line every 5000k miles before draining it ... air/oil separators should be the VERY FIRST thing you install when you purchase ANY subaru ... and as far as the oil / filter I have ALWAYS since day one used 5w30 Idemitsu engine oil with the Tokyo Roki oil filter and have NEVER had an issue ... after 4.5 years of ownership and just short of 70k on the dash I have NEVER beat on this car but I DO drive the shit out of it ... I shift every 3k RPM and ha e never gone faster than 80 mph ... my car IS modified but mostly bracing / alignment / and suspension wise ... I have however upgraded the piece of shit turbo inlet ... charge pipe and intake pipe ... I plan on modifying every single thing I can but in time
2,500 mile change for my Sti! I’m pushing 500hp with flex fuel. Gotta make sure my oil is clean & free of contaminants. I find it easier buying a $30 jug of oil than a $8000 shortblock…
You DON'T NEED to do this if your coilovers came preloaded
Completely wrong unfortunately. Setting preload on a linear spring isn't even a thing. The spring perch should be used to adjust the ride height once the damper travel has been properly set for bump / droop using the lower cup to adjust the shock body length. The first thing you should actually be doing is removing the spring completely and fitting the damper to the car to set the above
@@k20ee96 albeit correct, the everyday car guy isn’t doing all droop, travel, bump stop, proper ride height with helper springs if necessary, corner balancing and all math associated such task. Nobody cares for a daily driver lol. But having a bit of preload on spring on said use case you do need if it extends fully it will unseat. Currently filming a video about this as I type this. I’m properly setting up my racecar WRX that’s being built for time attack and we’re doing all the above
@nolanmarketti at the very least I'd say everyone should be fitting the shocks without springs and maximising compression travel, no maths or skills required for that. Preloading the springs an arbitrary amount for no real reason then inadvertently messing around with the bump/droop ratio by adjusting ride height with the bottom cup doesn't really make much sense
Enjoy the video? Check out the progress since I bought the car here! -> th-cam.com/video/OO9BpVylJ8c/w-d-xo.html

Over looked it. Sorry man nice build.
Right on man thanks for watching. Stay tuned I’ve been at the shop this week filming the suspension video. We ripped it all out and are replacing everything. 😏

gates makes a japanese timing kit, it has an N in the part number
True, but easy to overlook for anyone just browsing online and unfamiliar with those details. Most people just click around, see the timing kit, and buy. As evidenced by my barely hanging in there timing kit we took off...which could have been really bad.
I had a 2005 Subaru Legacy GT, turbo with a 5 speed stick. I had all of the suspension modified for autocross. It was fun while it lasted
Nice. Ironically, I was just in the shop tonight ripping out all the suspension on this car for the next video. We're replacing all of it, haha.
@nolanmarketti Fun. I used Enkei RPF1 wheels, Perrin anti sway bars. Had adjustable dampers and springs from Japan. Other parts from Whiteline.
What has been your experience with Head bolts snapping when you are taking apart the block? This would be my first rebuild and other than snapping long head bolts I am fairly confident in my ability to do it
02 wrx ej205
I have limited experience. When we pulled this it was my first time and I was learning on the fly. However, I happened to be in the shop with other Nolan when I read this so I was able to talk to him about it. It’s rare. There would have to be something significantly wrong before hand. I will say…when I was tearing apart the engine and had to loosen them it def takes a lot of force and a strong breaker bar. You need all the leverage you can get. I even felt like I was gonna snap them but it’s all good they are just tight. There’s a video of us pulling and tearing apart on my channel page if you’re interested in checking it out!
Well first things first, taking the heads off is not the same thing as taking the block apart. Second, highly unlikely that you will snap a head bolt when removing them. If you've never done this type of repair before, I HIGHLY suggest you find some sort of manual to walk you through the process.
sti 6 speed is a must
100%. it's planned. we're about to do all the suspension next week. video inbound!
I can feel the pain lol
Lmao just speaking facts
How much did you pay for it
Way too much
Nice mods dude.

You wont belive it but where i am its cold enough that when i pulled my dsm out of the garage and it sat for a day i couldn't get it to start. After testing things for two hours, the ecu turned out to be fucked. Like how the fuck is that even possible. There goes 800$ i didnt even learn how to tune it yet either and im pissed. I hate this car peice of shit
Wh you putting a battery on concrete 😐
Don’t spread that ignorance.
Rest in crusty peace
The best way to prevent a WRX engine from blowing up is to not use it.
Evidence?
@@nolanmarketti Pretty self-explanatory, right? If an engine is not used it can't blow itself up, now can it?
They don’t just “blow up” randomly 😂
Dummy😂 u don’t take the battery out out to charge it
antifreeze is more often anti-boil for most climates. the operating temp on most modern cars is higher then waters boiling point, so this would not work for many lol
water wetter is also mixed in with distilled water
You took the battery out the car to charge it 😐
Bro couldn’t leave the battery in the car?
It’s Michigan, and it makes sense… That’s illegal Also somebody’s head just exploded…HE PUT THE BATTERY DIRECTLY ON THE GROUND!!!! 🤯

Battery on concrete?
Was wondering the same I don't know if he knows that drains your battery
Pretty sure that’s a not true. At least for modern car batteries
You guys whining about the battery on the floor when he didn’t have to take it out to charge it in the first place
Im pretty sure you're misinformed about it. @@airborne6111
That's for old batteries, definitely not new batteries.... I haven't heard this one in a while.
Mmm hmmm! We store our Mustang and Hummer during the winter for this reason.
But aren’t cars “suppose to be driven?”
@@nolanmarkettinot under conditions in which there is definite harm being done to your car just by driving it
@@bobdiddlebock3050 facts
In Alaska you’ve gotta run a 75/25 coolant mix if you’re going to be parking outside in the winter 50/50 will freeze
Now that…is cold AF. Lmao.🤣
Do yall have to change the coolant regularly? Like once a year, or every 20,000 miles?
So cold in fact, that even if you could find e85, many flex fuel cars won't even start on it.
