You can't leave out Te Maire Martin @ half back.
Keep dwz
Hey Warriorholic good to see you back brother
@@wiremusimeon387 thanks mate, tried to take about of a break to freshen up but time to start easing back into it. Only a few weeks to go until the first trial 💚❤️💙
He looked so exhausted the entire 2024 season. He’s got to live in that body for the rest of his life. Great guy, right decision.
Heck yeah, Taine Tuapiki! He’s wasted talent not being used enough. We need someone in the mix that is quick. He’s quick!
You have to be realistic. Set reasonable expectations so you don't become too disappointed. I don't see a single position where we are better than last year. Now Harris is gone. We will be in the 12-17 range unfortunately. We do have a potentially favourable draw. Depth helps with the grind, mid season, but its top tier players that win the critical matches through the year. Sorry to be a sad sack. I would have been super excited if we'd had JFH and AFB....but we don't.
@@ianleary2901 yeah Tohu going after I posted this serious changes the way I see things. His loss is huge. Now we may well struggle to make the 8
Clark starting 13 with walker off the bench. Ale and zyon back up props
@@kennedymartinthomson2868 why would you start Clark over Walker? I thought Walker was outstanding in the starting role last year
@thewarriorholic He was but hes used better coming off the bench cause he can play anywhere hes been one of the most underrated utilities in the game the last 10 years we can bring him on when opposition forward pack are tired. Clark should start as hes a big body can do all the hard mahi.
Hope Zyon Miau'u, & Leka Halasima get way more playing time. They are units that are athletic and can break the line. I feel Niukore & Walker for that matter make way too many errors. If they put RTS as centre again it will be awful. I guess they might put him as FB or wing. CNK can be centre.
I am so sad rn i am so happy our warrior fans have someone to watch to keep up with the news
@@NRLFANBOY thanks mate, hope you enjoy the content
Bro..... Is that picture on the right Steven Adams?
@@clintyminty5307 yeah it’s a picture of Tohu and Steven. Thought it was classic how small Tohu looks at 194cm🤣
@@thewarriorholic Made my main man look like a midget 😂😂
Taine 💯 Rts wing for Montoya Chanrze and centre
Hard man to replace his effort spoke volumes and his leadership will be sorely missed hopefully he hangs around and continues to help the up and comers
Yeah it really worries me because the young guys won’t have the motors to cover the minutes, metres and tackles he delivered
Pompey and Montoya were a deadly combo 23 - a lot of tries and LB on the left edge. Deadly on D too, hard when the middle gets punished and they get out numbered out wide. Keep Roger at Centre, good defensive reads with those 10m set plays w/ speed to recover outside.
Tbh i was expecting him to announce earlier than now. Fully appreciate the mans efforts though. I would like to see Barney or Fish as cappy with either as a vice. I pray Metcalf is full 100 percent coz we missed him. Make or break year for TMM because his contract ends this year. Big year this one.
@@petertaua5590 yeah hard to argue with too much of that mate. Man there a lot of unknowns this year
Jackson Ford at 13. Barnet is Captain
@@merlin9083 Not sure Jackson has the hands for 13. Mitch could be a smokey. He’s played there in the past
All the Best Tohu to you and your Whanau Brother
Well said ❤️💚💙
One of our best. Huge admiration for everything about him on & off the pitch, good times & bad. LEGEND. For me MB steps up, commands respect (incl from the refs) & its the natural progression.. at this time, imho. Agree as you said, its a great oppo for others within our system to step up. No new incomers at this stage thanks.. saying that LeoT would've been a great get. We'll be right.. top 6💪🏼 🙏🏼
It does concern me how inexperienced we’ve become compared to last season..
Tohu shocks us without shocking us 😅. The man kept the tape man in business and I hope he can hang around the club in some capacity. A true Warrior. Now I assume the skip will become JFH, kiwi captain and a true leader.. In the front row we are well set, which maybe made the decision easier for Tohu. Barnett, Fisher Harris, bench of Nuikore & Vaiumauga ? With Maiu’u, Ale & Afoa as back ups. Assume we will see Clark in the 13 with Walker in the 14 off the bench ..
@@adamfahey108 hard to know brother. I would personally be starting Walker, he showed he can do well in that starting role last year. He’s vital to our attack. Demitric or Leka will be first up of the young gun I reckon. It comes down to where they play Marata and Ford. If they play them both in the middle Leka could come onto the bench. If they play on an edge then surely Demitric comes onto the bench. Well know a lot more in a couple weeks eh
@@thewarriorholic I'm getting excited for the season to early..... I need to cool the jets a bit because I get a sneaky feeling this will be Webbys best season... Young, fast and strong forward pack with flair out the back of a strong shape.. Jeeez get me off the back fence!
@ yeah I’m excited to see what happens. While they will never admit it publicly, I believe they will be looking at this as a development year. So I’m really excited to see a lot of new talent get a chance and for me I just want us to be competitive, be more focused, convert our opportunities and be far more resilient when things don’t go our way. We can’t let teams score back to back to back points in short amounts of time.
@@thewarriorholic That's why I see Marata moving to the middle.. as that bench impact. I just want to see us look to build pressure in the attacking 20.. not just hit up, out the back to the wing and cross kick.. I would like to see us work at the line rather than out the back door. time will tell.
Damm losing afb just made way worse losin tohu not to mention shaun and tevanga🤦🏾
@@levihawkins6211 and Montoya, Paulie roache too
@@levihawkins6211 yeah bro, stay tuned, I’ll be posting an overview of some of the key areas those loses will impact us in 2025
Bro, I have to say this worries me greatly. His hard yards are very rarely matched and you’re right, those big minutes and workload are going to be hard to match. I just hope someone emerges in this mould. Capes, Ford? Our defence is our number one concern I reckon.
@@tonybjjlife68 yeah I’m with you. I’ll be posting a video explaining my concerns later this week. I still believe we can make the 8 but with a couple of injuries to our senior forwards… we could really struggle
Thank you Tohu. Now we move to Walker and co.
@@tereretaihauiti7000 well said
So they got Erin in because they knew Tohu couldn't make it? Gotta wonder if it's the same for Egan? Is this why we signed Sam Healey?
I think Sam is an acknowledgment of Lussick being very fit, great defender but not really going to be a top class hooker. And as you say, probably worry how many more head knocks Wayde can take
Shot Zane 👍🏾. I echo all the praise and appreciation from all of the other solid supporters 💪🏾 💙💚❤
Such a humble guy considering how amazing he was
@thewarriorholic Hard bro. Just a genuine down to earth work horse - similar to Simon Mannering. Hey, watch people write us off for the wooden spoon this year now! 😂
@@Jazz_Tamatea yeah I’m a little concerned bro. I’ll be putting out a video this week that highlights some of the key areas we have been impacted by the players who’ve moved on. I still think we can make the 8, but a couple of key injuries and shit could get ugly
Tohu didn't deserve to be stuck on our 2020-22 team, but I really appreciated his professionalism during that time. I am glad that he got to enjoy the 2023 run with us.
Yeah but he won a comp and then I reckon he’ll be really proud of what he was able to do for us, he was part of a massive transformation.
Cheers tohu. All the best bro'
💚❤️💙 100%
Father Time is undefeated. Legend. Next man up! It’s your time. Walker or Clark. #UpTheWahs
th-cam.com/video/Z_ciCyylN2I/w-d-xo.html
finally, been so slowand injury prone for the last 2 seasons
@@tempo1768 yeah been sad to see
Easy Barnett for captain 2025. JFH co captain.
@@CH33YAH Egan could be in the running too. he was VC last year
I gotte give Tohu a special thanks for his services to the Kiwis and warriors throughout his time. He definitely added something when he first arrived at the warriors it's just a pity that injuries sort of kept them down and we never really got to see him play at that level for extended time. Its a shame as Warriors fans I feel like we have a decent run then we're into a rebuild the coming years.
@@PepeAgain1025 yeah he was such a great player for us and the Kiwis. One of those players to come from a great system and maintain those standards at the Warriors even when those around him didn’t
Thank u for the vid i havent found out
@@NRLFANBOY thanks for watching. Sad day for Warriors fan ❤️💙💚
Always a little sad when injuries force players (especially outstanding ones) to call it a day but a good decision by Tohu for himself and the club. History will view Tohu right up with the best Kiwi's forwards of all time. Given his injury toll I was surprised the club gave him an extra year but it is all history now. Obviously this frees up serious cap money so who knows what may or may not eventuate.
@@jackohere1878 yeah I believe he was on 700 this year and about 550 next year. Lot of money to spend elsewhere. Wonder where it goes??
@@thewarriorholic I have no idea what will happen but possibly a chance to lock in the best young front rower I have seen for many a year (Toby Crosby) long term if we haven't already. I will be devastated if we lose Crosby to another club or Union.
A work horse, old school ethics a leader. A lot of experience lost between Tohu and SJ, we are in another rebuild now.
@@addienaacrew8030 yeah Montoya and AFB too. A lot of games worth of experience and some big minutes we need to cover in the middle
A lot of extra $ in the cap now
@@jerrybow8779 yeah but no one worth spending it on for 2025😔
Definitely won't make the 8 now, still, it's year of rebuilding.
If we dont make top 8 I don’t see us goin below 11th either. Will be hard with the experience we’ve lost but we’ve also gained a couple players that had what we were lacking
@@DCM-wz2ee yeah it’s a massive hit to our hopes
Bring in Afoa for a while since he’s got more experience but if Wahs still ain’t keen on keeping him either then they just gonna have to bring Ale/Laban or Demetric in
@@GhostSlayer666 yeah but Bunty was told to find another club mid 2024, so not sure they will use him at the first option. Really curious to see what the plan is
I had a feeling it was gonna happen end of last season if I’m gonna be honest. That wrist injury was just too much for him. He was an absolute work horse and he’s gonna be missed a hell of a lot
@@GhostSlayer666 yeah same, I reckon he was always unlikely to play, but still a massive loss
Tohu Harris Retires!!! Do you think will use the money for someone else? And who seen this coming
@@calebedw4rds not unless someone unexpectedly comes onto the market. I believe they would have been expecting this so they would have recruited someone by now if they thought there was someone decent out there
We didn't make top 8 last year because we simply couldn't finsh our sets and Johnson's kicking game was rubbish. With our new halves anything could be possible 🤷🏽. I'm gonna say we finsh in 6th place ❤️💙💚.
@@FROGITZZ feeling less confident after losing Tohu? I know I am
Mmmm not really. Tohu's lacking in speed and out of his physical prime. Dylan Walker for me is a great replacement for Tohu. Especially because he has the halves skills to set people up. We have loads of young talent coming through, we just need our older ones to step up. Ofc I love Tohu to bits. His defence, attack and being able to set people up was amazing and that's why Johnson and Tohu carried us to the 2023 semi final season. He's way to injury prone and needs to hang the boots ❤💚💙.
Kia ora bro hope you had a wonderful Christmas and safe New year go the mighty warriors 💪
Te Maire Martin starting half
I agree with you, fifth place sounds about right, excellent team on paper if we can sort out the clunky attack we will beat anyone in the comp plus no one in Aussie expecting the warriors to do anything this year just like 2023
@@TheRichie22 that prediction didn’t age well with the lose of Tohu today 🤦🏻♂️
We actually have a decent roster with real depth - Head coach is great but questions over his assistants still linger. Boyd who has a very good kicking game which most under rate like Metcalf has come to the club with a point to prove so expect big seasons from both. Bolter for me is young hooker Healey. He should get a shot when Egan goes down and will be hard to drop if he plays to his potential. If Boyd and Metcalf "click" and stay healthy we can finish around 5th or 6th however for a team that travels far more than any other adding 20 thousand kms of travel to Vegas into the legs of players in the first week may take a toll as the long NRL season wears on. One thing for sure if we finish 10th or lower the heat will really come on Webster.
Has Sifukula changed his last name?
Yeah he took his mum’s maiden name since she looked after I’m as a solo mum
I haven't heard Webster's comments re Boyd. I think hooker, would be a good option. Warriors 9's very rarely kick
based on previous results........5th place.......ya dreaming..........
Thanks for stopping by Coach
Positivity personified.. i love it💪🏼 Yep agree we're defo top 8 capable & maybe not so much the hunted as per last season BUT our travel load.. circa @ 75k compared to dogs at 15 odd.. club must be much smarter re injury management, like you say we have depth so trust em instead of flogging & pushing injured guys over the edge. Am sure lessons learnt across the club 🤞🏼.. if so: Top 6.. (due to the Gus influence, as per 24). Hope they consider parking up in Qland for that tough 3 run stretch, make it a mini camp cos 6 f'n trans Tasman hops .. esp the 3 post gamers is cruel. If not trust & use the squad. Tell ya a thing i love about our new recruits.. Erin.C, Sam.H & Boyd, they are great trainers.. they're gonna raise the bar which is gonna benefit the whole joint & expecting likes of Marata, Zyon & Tom to benefit bigtime. If CNK can be that defensive behemoth at left center & stay fit then skys the limit. Top 8.. am basing alot of this on the mngt teams & not in order: Panthers, Storm, Dogs, Sharks, Souths, Warriors, Manly, Cows or Dolphins.. the Wolf effect. Tough as hell to predict! Yes we can🙏🏼
Yeah I can't comprehend why the Warriors actually put their hands up for Vegas...well other than for the money. Why would you add that travel to an already ridiculous schedule. I love the fact that the rugby league world thinks we'll be shit this year so we don't have the same weight of expectation as last year. Really curious to see how things go in the Pre Season Challenge
@thewarriorholic Yep guess the marketing dept won that one, maybe thought best get it done with early & be interesting to see if the NRL extend the 5 yr deal. Hope Bunts is tracking ok & gets a good shot pre season challenge, reckon his granite D on the tight Vegas field will suit & let the old horse show the way (& alleviate my fears re a bad injury to say maybe an under prepped JFH) & keep the 🍾 on ice.. we gotta box smarter this year re squad use. .. man wish we were playing the Bronx up there, rd1 in them close 1/4's , suffocate RW lol. a lot of pressure on them broncos.. big ✊🏼 for Madge but geez ?
Bold predictions: Warriors to make the top 6, 5th or 6th. Back of the year: Ali Liataua Forward: Nuikore (think this will be a massive year for Marata) Newbie: JFH (cope out I know) My top 8 Storm Roosters Panthers Broncos Warriors Sea Eagles Rabbitohs Knights close year for Bulldogs, Sharks and Cowboys
Interesting, I really hope you're right about Marata. After his quiet year in 2024 he needs to step up to justify that massive salary and keep the young guns out.
@@thewarriorholic Just think, if used correctly without other squad injuries, He can develop into one role and focus on that, even if its a bench prop coming on to bend the middle and allow Metcalf and whoever time to work some magic. As always love your work!
outside 8 .Webster is the x factor what has he learnt after 2 years ?
We will certainly see when it comes to Webby. This will be a really big test for him.
I believe that there is no one who is better that the warriors can get Sign him longterm at least 5 years and give him time to develop our juniors Having read Ivan Cleary’s book I believe this is the answer . His book is very insightful
