This is life saving information!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I would still recommend a parentpage so all of the standard layouts and such doesn't get f.... up!.
Thanks, bro amazing tutorial.....but I want to know that when I add swatches, I see a gap in the pattern. What should I do
Thanks for posting solution of this problem.
a lot of things in figma are unnecessarily confusing, especially for a product supposed to be made for UX
yu done good kid, yu done good.
thanks for your video i have a question regarding when i save my created file the individual pages are centered how can i center the pages so that they are all left aligned and not centered ?
You could also use the pattern tool!
And how do you generate a booklet to print in the same position?
Thank you. Simple and quick. Appreciate your help with a class project.
Very helpful... Thank you soo much....
2 years later, it did help me. Thanks.
Why not just group all the layers into different folder trees directly?
Oh my gods! When did this become a thing. Ugh, I feel foolish. So many hours spent building mock ups so printers knew what the heck my layouts were supposed to do. You, sir, are the
Wow thanks man
Thank you!
helpful thank you!
where's the animation video one
i'm having an issue where when I duplicate the rotation for my shapes, they immediately do not line up with the checkerboard pattern I created? any ways to fix this?
THANKS BUDDY
Thank you!!!
Thank you for getting straight to the point!! Much appreciated!
FINALLY!!!!! omg i never had the shape FILLED. arghhhhghghg
Figma mask makes no sense to me, so hard to use
Don't you still need to make a stroke outline of the white border for the actual cutline?
thank you bro from jpn!!!!
That was such a big Help. Very good video. Even Chatgpt cound´t help me with this problem🙌🏼
Really helpful mate cheers
Thanks, but why knock picas? If you're not going to explain it, then ignore it and don't waste your breath.
This frustrates me every year when I attempt to create a holiday card and inevitably fail a dozen or so times just to print so that the print order and orientation is correct. It's maddening. This year I am attempting the top fold landscape card. I really appreciate your help for setting up and arranging the pages however I will note that it still refuses to print in the correct order. It prints pg1 and pg 2 on the same page (thusly 3 and 4 on the back side). Correct order should be 1 with 4 and 2 with 3. I will surely get it to print close enough to correct but the level of aggravation really sours my taste for ID. FWIW, I did accidentally stumble into one trick that might be helpful to some; After you rotate your art on page 1 [as shown in the video] you can click on the page in the pages toolbar then right-click and select "Page Attributes" then select "Rotate Spread View" then "180º" from the menu and the page in your workspace will view as rightsize-up even though the printer still prints it upside-down. So that's nice if you still want to tweak the layout a bit but don't want to work upside-down. Anyway, I am guessing that there is no way to booklet print a top bind landscape card in ID so unless anybody has a better idea, I will probably just have to rearrange all my pages to print in the order I need.
Thanks for that info; that's what I thought was horribly wrong in this tutorial, that the first page was manually just rotated... I mean, it's the industry standard Adobe suite and there's no way to work on a normally-oriented design??
Thank you! you are my new favourite illustrator coach!!! So clear!! 😎💜
Thanks man!
thank you!!
It threw me off how you called everyone a toy at the start and let "smart guilds do the work" while using the pen tool.
What if we are making a book in this layout? Which pages should we flip?
Thanks a lot !!!!
I did learn something, 20+ years doing this work 😂😂 Thank you 🙏 ❤
Just what I needed. Thanks.
Thank you Thank you ... your explanation is beautiful .. Thank you !!
Couldn’t they make it simple? Just a templet for a card that we could put our art on
Gonna try this. I just wasted 3 days trying to figure out how to do it
what versions is this? indesign vertion?
Thank you for this!!! You have made my life alot easier :)
I hope Figma change this, as in my opinion, it is the opposite way we should mask objects...
Thanks Thalaiva..!
You are my hero <3
Any tool better than the pencil? The pencil won’t do it on my new computer
You could've just explained that the mask is being created from the bottom layer, instead of the upper layer, that's the whole point, because honestly, the video sort of looks like you are discovering how it works along with your audience. I hate how this works in Figma, but once you understand that you have to think backwards, you won't have any issues.
figma mask sucks
Dude, you know (Object>Create Trim Marks) and you wont waste your time with this again xd
Ha! That's awesome. Thank you, Matthew. Always can learn something lol
