      No, not as long as it is rust and debris free. But if you get any sand or debris caught in the wool, that could potentially scratch glass. Also if you used another grade of steel wool that is thicker, it could potentially scratch.

    Great video! How long is your first 3/8” hose that comes directly off the truck? Currently I have 150’ of 3/8 connected to 50’ of pole hose. Hose management takes me more time than I’d like when I start working back closer to my cart setup, I just have a lot of heavy hose intertwined with my pole hose. I’m wondering if I should swap the ratios of the hoses so I’m mostly dealing with the lightweight pole hose. Thanks in advance!

    • @bluladder

      @@tylerbass9689 I only have 50’ of the 3/8, then everything else is the same as the pole hose, 2 100’ sections and a 50’ section. It’s light and easy to roll up on the electric spool, so I like it. The way you’re doing it has better flow though, might be worthwhile investing in a nicer spool to make it easier to manage the hose if you don’t have one already, it’ll save you countless time in the long run

Your videos have been really helpful, thank you 🙏 I'd like to know as a pole, how big do you suggest to get for trad cleaning, before you get into the ladder? I'm practicing at home with an 8' from Home Depot, but my house, for instance, if I want to do the top windows, I need at least a 18', I did measure, I'm in Canada, so we do have basements. So, I don't think it's safe to do, in a sense of the results, but hey, I'm not in the business yet. And therefore my question, which size (biggest) would you suggest to get for a trad pole?

    • @bluladder
      @bluladder 11 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Sounds like your experience could definitely help you out with the commercial side of things, if you go that direction! The aluminum ones flex too much one fully extended, especially past 12 feet, and will definitely frustrate you. I’d recommend a 20 foot carbon fiber pole. That should reach almost anything up to 2 stories. The nice thing if you invest in a solid pole made by a brand like XERO, is that it can be used as a water fed pole in the future as well. I use the Xero M9 water fed pole (28ft) inside, just by swapping out the tip. windowcleaner.com/products/xero-m9-water-fed-pole?sca_ref=4122445.Dz6DIiYfKo The next size down would be the 20 foot (which should be plenty of length) trad pole: windowcleaner.com/products/xero-carbon-fiber-pole-trad-pole-2-0?sca_ref=4122445.Dz6DIiYfKo

    • @bluladder
      @bluladder 14 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@rickmayer9614 yes, I would do a smaller unit in the back of a truck. 8 gallons per minute is great for many occasions, the more surface area you’re cleaning, the more GPM you want. The issue with the 8 gallon per minute machine is they can be heavy, and they need a 100 gallon tank, which gets pretty heavy. For normal pick up truck, you can get a little too bogged down with that much weight. That’s why I would use a 5.5 gallon per minute machine, with a 50 gallon (or so) buffer tank and similar size SH tank. It still does the job for any residential work, which is my primary focus. What I don’t like about a trailer, is that it’s not always on my truck. If I go to a job to clean windows, then they ask if I’ll clean their driveway, I’m not always equipped. I have to set up a new appointment and come back with the pressure washing rig. If I could do it over, I would start with a 5.5 gallon per minute machine for residential, and then as I grow and need more equipment, that’s when I would upgrade to a trailer with the larger machine. But at this point, I am invested in the unit, and will hold off on making another purchase until I hire and have another truck out.

      @@Ron-sm3lu it takes some getting used to, I put mine down for a year before I tried it again, but once I got the hang of it, I’ve never looked back. It takes a different touch.

    Not in my city. This is banned by codes. They will pick them up and throw them away or get fined

      @@kobechrome138 I can only put them in a few areas near where I’m currently located, and they rarely last, and I get very few calls. Having said that though, in some places they work very well. When I was in California it was my easiest way to get calls, and they were money every time $$$ Many guys still put them up anyways even if they’re banned. Not all areas enforce their laws, apparently.
