That was the original ending then he changed it because of what was happening in the country at the time. He felt that the original ending would negatively impact black people. He's was right. I would have hated this movie if it ended that way. And it would not have had the amount of rewarches that it does

@ptthatswhatshesaid I do have a challenge for Lucy. I would love to see your reaction to a movie called, What Lies Beneath. Most people can't figure out the plot.
The female reacting to this is so smart. I’ve watched many people react to this, and it’s the first time I’ve seen someone figure out that the 2 people working for the family is grandma and grandpa. Also she didn’t forget about the guy in the beginning like everyone does until they see him again. Great reaction guys.
Thank you ☺️ although I don't really think she guessed the grandpa and grandma before the movie made it obvious tbh xD But She never forgot Andre from the beginning that's true! 😂
I don't think misdirection works on Lucia. She is so sharp and attentive, that she spots the filmmakers attempts to lead the audience away from any surprises. Must be her legal mind. Nice reaction you two.

This film was a groundbreaking masterpiece. As a Black American so many things hit home. Unfortunately, most of us can relate to an experience of white people making us feel like objects rather than people. I’ve had white (women especially) touch my body and/or hair, usually while or even before asking permission. Too many of them can’t understand how dehumanizing shit like that is.. A few important parts that may have gone over your heads: -When this came out in 2017, it was one of the first times common messed up situations Black folks experience were made visible for everyone to see -No one saw this film coming as it was Jordan Peele’a debut film plus he was only known for writing and performing comedy. -Just like our enslaved ancestors, Chris had to pick cotton to save his life. -Bingo was a slave auction. -Daniel Kaluuyah, the actor playing Chris, is English. -Rose keeping the colored cereal separate from the white milk was meant to just be creepy. Only afterwards did Jordan Peele realize the scene added to the theme of the films subject as well. Can’t think of anymore now. Great reaction. Waiting to see if you guys review more Jordan Peele films.
I hadn't realized the cotton and cereal connections! Thank you The fact that the cereal connection to racial separation was an accident makes it even better in my opinion, because its not shoehorned in! If you get it, you get it 👌🏻 The movie is fantastic by itself, but I do love that there is that extra layer. Like we said in the video, us not being americans would mean some stuff would go over our heads 😅 but even here I have witnessed some people act in very forced and cringey way towards black folk 🤷🏻♂️
Predestination will blow your mind. Don't look up details. It is a real mind warp that will overclock your brain. Not horror but thriller/Science fiction..
For a 'cool' creepy vibe, she might like "Eyes Wide Shut" -- you can't go wrong with a movie with Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman ( or can you? :-) And, for a more comedic horror, "Tucker and Dale vs Evil" might hit the spot for Lucy. Finally, somewhat related, the movie "M3GAN" is fun and creepy and stars the same main actress.
There was an audible gasp in my theater when "Rose" finally turned and revealed she had the car keys all along. I totally fell for her act the whole time and was so disappointed when I learned she'd been in on the plan with her family the entire time. You should also watch "Speak No Evil" [ the Danish version] to see another version of a horror film where people get involved in situations that they should probably leave, but don't.
For the first time watcher, you picked up on clues very quickly. I thought you were pretending to be a first-time watcher. Until you couldn't figure out that they were doing the silent auction with the bingo cards. I want to know how much you'll pick up on the next time you watch. Now that you know it's not a ghost movie 😆
6:19 hun it is relevant. You should always tell your family before bringing your boyfriend/girlfriend of a different race home. You may think you know your family but... you should maje sure and not put them in a very uncomfortable situation. And no, you do not have to give your id if your not driving the car and have done nothing wrong Chris had to take the cotton out of his ears because he needed to hear if someone was sneaking up him. None of jordan peele's movies deal with spirits. And no it would not be possible to put your brain into another human and either of you survive. The brain is way too complex. I don't think this will ever be possible. They can't even remove most brain tumors without killing you. Or making you blind or deaf or changing your personality.
Its true that this could be inserted inside the category of science fiction not exactly fantasy. Horror anyway 😋 When bringing someone you are dating to meet your family you should definitely always do the most to not put any side in an uncomfortable position.
I thought I had included a bit more of that part in this edit but basically she was just confused and didn't got what was happening. And yeah, I now see the connections with the slave auctions of old, but I guess its something that an american would catch much more quickly than us yeah xD
Maybe I'm wrong, but I believe that this movie had a comedic/ironic response, because it was widely debated as a highly racist film against white people. For the first time I'm watching this movie now on your channel. I had heard about it before, but I had never seen it. After it came out, years ago, it received a wide negative response. Later, its antipode parody came out. Which, given what I've seen so far, I believe is deserved. In the comedy version, everything is reversed and the main role is played by a white man, while his girlfriend is black. I hadn't watched the comedy either. But watching the film itself here now, I assume that in the comedy some black people were probably hunting white people to make them slaves. 😅 But I'm not really sure if I'm talking about this movie because I don't remember the name of that movie.
@@ptthatswhatshesaid "you can make comedy out of everything 😂" ___________ Yes, yes. Of course. But only if there's a good reason for it. For example, "Vampires Suck" is a comedy response to Twilight and there was a good reason for them to make this comedy response.😂
Lucy is so damn good at analyzing situations and people. Always fun to see how fast she sees the plot.
Jordan Peele, the director, shot an alternate ending where Chris did go to jail at the end and Rod did not save him.
I like that he went with this one because the happy ending was really unexpected 😂👌🏻
That was the original ending then he changed it because of what was happening in the country at the time. He felt that the original ending would negatively impact black people. He's was right. I would have hated this movie if it ended that way. And it would not have had the amount of rewarches that it does
So, basically, she likes horror. She doesn't like spirits. _Ready or Not_ is also horror. A horror comedy. You might like _You're Next._
Right?!! Couldn't agree more! Horror movies are fun! Is "You're Next" the same type of horror than this then? I also haven't watched that one

A great suspense film to check out would be “Blow Out” (1981) written and directed by Brian De Palma. One of John Travolta’s best performances.
